Sorry for the rez, but I just *had* to thank you. I've been searching for a fillable companion/familiar form for a while that does exactly what I need and this one is it!

I used the Pathfinder fillable one and I love it. Thank you for the extra space for notes. There are anal players out there like me who like to add extra information whenever possible.

Thanks again, it's great. I'll definitely be recommending it to my group!

There are many companion and familiar PDF sheets on the web. Some of them small(2-3 pages) and others huge(4-6 pages). But not many of them are fillable and small at the same time.

Here is a custom made fillable Animal / Companion / Familiar PDF Sheet modified for the Pathfinder rules set. It consists of only one page so it is really easy to manage and update the pets either by your DM and/or the PC's. I have included the original sheet I found on the web and the modified version if someone desires to get them both and see the differences.

The original design was made by Ronny Hart for the 3.5 rules set (of D&D) and all the modifications for the Pathfinder rules set were done by me. It only has the stuff from the Druid class of the Core Rulebook so if you feel that something is missing please don't hesitate to tell me.

Original Version - PDF
Ronny Hart's blog post where I actually found it.

Pathfinder Version - PDF
A scribd url in order to download the file directly. Once and if a post is made on Ronny Hart's blog i will fix the link above.

Every suggestion will be considered!

In addition to the threads Jeremiziah posted there have also been these:

Based on the number of threads and length of them I would say Jeremiziah is correct in calling it one of the most debated and misunderstood subjects on the forums.

These threads cover a lot of topics and ask a lot of questions that should probably get some official designer attention but I think some of the bigger and more frequent issues are:

1) A lot of people compare HiPS to Sniping. Do you take a penalty to Stealth when using HiPS while observed? A clear cut defined difference between HiPS and Sniping.

1a) Does...

Shadowlord, sorry for the thread rez. I'm somewhat new to the messageboards; your post says it has been answered in the FAQ but I don't know how to see that answer. Could you help me?

Note that the prerequisite can be bypassed, like other prerequisites, by increasing the DC to make the item. So it's possible for a low-level adventurer to make it, it's just harder.

(I'm relatively sure that only feat requirements can't be bypassed that way. XD)

Oh. My. Goodness.

I have been SO focused on that line in the rules usually meaning spell requirements to me that I never even thought about it for the level requirement!!!

Is this how the rest of you would read that as well? Emphasis mine.

Note that all items have prerequisites in their descriptions. These prerequisites must be met for the item to be created. Most of the time, they take the form of spells that must be known by the item's creator (although access through another magic item or spellcaster is allowed). The DC to create a magic item increases by 5 for each prerequisite the caster does not meet. The only exception to this is the requisite item creation feat, which is mandatory. In addition, you cannot create potions, spell-trigger, or spell-completion magic items without meeting its prerequisites.

I have done a decent amount of searching and I cannot seem to find an answer to my exact ioun stone question. I would appreciate that any answers offer direct rules citations if possible, but I think it's not possible, having researched for quite a bit before finally posting this out of frustration.

Here it is:

There are a number of inferior ioun stones which are pretty useful to the low-level adventurer. If a character wants to craft one of them (let's take the Incandescent Blue Sphere ioun stone, cracked as an example)

Incandescent Blue Sphere

...then what are the new stats for the crafting? From the stat block, it would appear that everything stays the same (CL, Prerequisites, Aura, etc) except for the price, which becomes less. Most of this makes sense.

-- Same aura due to being the same family of magical effects
-- Same CL due to the magical powers necessary to evoke those effects
-- Different price due to the fact that the effects are usually of a lesser magnitude.

But should the prerequisite of "creator must be 12th level" really exist for an item that only gives +1 competence bonus on one Wisdom-based skill? The full ioun stone gives a +2 slotless enhancement bonus to wisdom (a much more significant magical effect). By the time a character is level 12, they have much more important things they should be focusing on crafting over such a small bonus item.

Am I missing something? Every single ioun stone has the exact same prerequisite. Did the creators simply not want the ioun stones being crafted by low-level adventurers?

I'll *gladly* accept homebrew rules if you can also back them up with why you chose to do so! Please help me understand!

The cost for dueling is a flat increase beyond the equivalent "plus" of the weapon, it does not add to the "plus", just final cost.

Having trouble finding the specific citation, but there is nonother way to compute this consistently.

Thank you for your answer.

Chess Pwn wrote:

to find the price, remove the dueling price, add the upgrade price, re-add the dueling price.

Find the price of the item without dueling, add dueling price to that. Compare that to current weapon price and that's the cost.

All roads lead to the same answer is the real answer.

Thank you as well.

So here's another question along those lines then...

Does the enhancement bonus and damage conferred by (bane, lesser) stack with the enhancement bonus and damage from bane burst?

bane, lesser

bane burst

Long time player, first time posting.

My question is hopefully simple. I want to place the dueling weapon property on a weapon. The price is easy enough to figure out:

Weapon cost + (+1 enhancement cost) + (dueling weapon property enhancement cost)

80gp + 2,000gp + 14,000gp = 16,080gp

My issue is not with the cost, but rather with knowing what numerical bonus the weapon now has on it for the purposes of further enhancement. 14,000gp is the dueling cost according to PFSRD:

Dueling.

But the cost places it between +2 and +3 (in terms of price). SO, if I want to add more enhancements, bane burst & umbral for instance,

Bane Burst.

Umbral.

... which are +2 and +1 respectively, can I?

I'm hoping I'm just missing a simple rule somewhere. Does the dueling enhancement count toward the bonus? If so, does its cost go up if it's the 2nd enhancement? Or third? Or is it always 14,000gp?

Thorough answers and cited rules would be extremely appreciated. Thank you!
