So the idea is to play a alchemist clone master. But not for the purpose of being a hard hitter or tossing bombs. Well not primarily anyway.

And infact be as poor as a pauper levels 7-19. (and then get the philosophers stone :D )

The idea being to forego equipment or doing your own fighting, instead simulcraing the biggest and baddest as weapons of sorts. Hard to beat having 12 dragons in your back pocket... swooping down and firing off their breath weapons.

Combined to this concept the creation feats from Libris Mortis. Well, in a modified fashion, that is allowing those crafting feats to enhance anything you construct. Such as a little bit stronger and faster dragon simulcras or explosive suicide goblin-simulcras.

This i suppose could be extremely powerful, but also runs the risk of having all your gear destroyed... and be rather helpless.

with letsee.. a friendly sir and lady warden ghost pair, a golem that thinks you are their best friends evah.. A few misshaped carnies, happy uncle lupus skywolf to come along with a friendly and happy miss-shaped man-beast of the seas. Oh and then the inevitable aunt vampirella the dabbling necromancer-bard? (all very charming, just a bit scary) also happy the players helped them.

Who knows what friends and allies theyll pick up in the last sequel. A friendly mummy (and chef) afraid of being dominated by the over-lich?

That retirement castle sure will be a sight to be seen with those friends coming along for a party. Maybe fleshy-frank getting his own Fran as a gift. And superfriends become super-super-friends.

Basically getting those 100-1000lbs of gold may seem fantastical, but in reality that is an average of 17500gp. Half of that if you rule rawmaterials are only half as good as finished goods, ie gold coins.
Youth potion isnt that much better.
In short, far from a wondorous magical treasure of legend.

Now.. those effects come from basically breaking the stone.
What about spells that employ the philosophers stone as a focus?

Something like lvl 4 spell, create 1/3 of caster level in lbs of gold. Grand wizard, lvl 20, would be some 6lbs or 300gp/spell. Not Superrich, but a way to handle taxes, pay for a few beers and such.

Halt Aging, level 7. No aging for a month. Multiple castings will just resent the timer of no aging.

Or Purity of the Soul 9. Become Good, immortal (as in never aging) and aquire the saint template (book of excalted deeds). Also costs 50.000gp.
-caveat, if the philosophers stone you used for this mighty ritual (takes a month to do) is broken, you die instantly.

Elf/Half-elf?, Ranger 5/Brightness seeker 5/Living monolith 10

Talks to dead, nature, rock, sphinxes.. immortal.. and even if one dies, its back again.. spending all eternity melded into rock if they feel so..

Oh yes and can fly or just stay beneath the sea..

Otoh there are wiz 20, quite scary those too.. but damn these immortal speakers to all dead or alive.. quite a league of their own. Oh and immune against a pile of stuff too.
And they are charismatic.. atleast with elves.. just no way to win ;)

On one hand, it would seem logical to concentrate all into a single city.

But yet.. you end up with a good bunch of ready or fixable buildings across the map. Not to mention the need to find those rulers...
Such as maybe the satyr and dryad, in which case the capital would have to be foudned around the tree. (ooh high cha!)

That the biggest city is elsewhere should just make the kinga nd queen happier ;)

Atleast spreading out like that makes it somewhat believable the owlbear could smash stuff up, when theres a giant general ;) so rivertown was smashed.. and the general was busy at stagfort! (the economical capital)

Especially combined with a few other prestige classes, like exemplar (take 10).. diplomacy, bluff, kingdom reputation... all like soft wax to be molded however way one wants to :p

Never mind they are no good at combat, but they can instead manipulate the whole kingdom, make every lil duchy want to join... and have those who are in dread the notion of seccession and how those seeking to break away will be known as babykillers and defilers of everything holy...

So any radical changes to the 3/3.5 system? Or is it more or less the same? ie fiends with more magical at will abilities than most dms care to remember they had, no weirdo 2 spells /encounter and such? ..along with strange.. strange rules on having to buy bigger horses ala 50.000 gp for your paladin and never allowed dto sell the old ones...

Kinda wondering if i can and or want to pick up since those old days. (old dogs dont quite learn new tricks..!)

Yes technically the payment is no more than 40 larvae (and they should have 70.000 in storage), but to hand out for just the pleasure of having a chat? No way..

Yeah, the plan is to simulcra the remains and learn the secrets.

Anyway, a bit dissapointed there were no stats for ahazu, since soon after having both 9th level spells and the tooth, a simulcra of him is to be expected.. same with shami ofcourse.
Which means theres still a good chance of getting their hands upon the demonomicon.. the simulcras should know its there ;)

Oh yeah and i love those hivemind medallions.. and someone who picks up dark speech will love them even more.. no doubt setting up their very own hivemind soon enough..

Now we are presented with the "proven fact", that Demonlords cannot be slain, that even if Demogorgon would be killed he would be back soon enough again.. and you would have to keep on killing him forever.

Yet, that was NOT the way the Adimarchus problem was presented, if you killed a Demonlord on their Homeplane they staid dead!

Both sources are supposed to be equally right, which leads me thinking either is wrong.. or theres some added detail needed -someone else taking over the mantle of the plane? Is that the final demand needed in vanquishing a Demonlord, that you are seeking to replace it? There it worked by having the burning eye template.
How do you exert your mastery over the Maw? As that would be a component in finalizing a kill, if the other options don't interest (like having him locked away)

Well, be it as it may, the warlock is already hell bent on creating a vril-ya under the isle, and a "black sun" of sorts to grant eternal power. So i guess it all goes well in hand with the late 19th c style ... mythology, exploration and naturalism ;)

Definately something along the lines of oozemaster, and probly quite high level too, druid 5/"oozedruid" 10.

Since the island is far away, and largely underdeveloped: 2100 villagers and maybe similar amounts of neandertals and phanatons, neither of which does naval.

Anyway, what is there to plunder?

Sure if placed in the realms.. somewhere SSW of Chult.. NWW of the corsair domains of zakhara, there would be potential trade -south faeurun-zakhara to plunder, but relatively far away still.

Sure pirates can travel, and a secret port on a island "noone else" has ever heard about -ie safe from authorities, is nice. A bit extortion/trade with the natives, 2 glass pearls for every real pearl, should pay off nicely aswell for said pirates :D

So there is hope for a workable model. Atleast if it isnt too far away, just a few months travel or so to more used waterways

Anyway, thoughts?

Looking over the map.. admittedly x-translated more than once, it comes at 450km high and some 250km wide, the size of some empires.

Or enough for 300 domains as specified in the green book.. which with imported (fast breeding) goblins ensured a income enough to equip armies and fleets of ridiculus sizes.. iirc we got to 10 million soldiers, 120.000 ships and 600Million gp/month in income before realising it was a bit silly ;)

Ahwell, have fun creting your empires.. im sure someone will import a few thousand kobolds(no doubt the fastest breeders this time around)..becoming 100 million in just a few decades the island is afterall almost more mountains than jungle.. and after draining the swamps excellent farming areas, never forgetting tar pits.. or the fact of coral reefs and pearls and FISH! Or actually sea-snakes.. seemed far more common :D
All the while worshipping the few dragons around, and wondering what to do with those dinos.. probly domesticated, riding & work..

That is if the island survives, and isnt sucked into the abyss ;)
