I'm playing a Ranger Half Elf, started at Lev 1. I bought a Guard Dog as part of my starting equipment. Now we're at Lev 4, can I make the Guard Dog my Animal Companion? Does it lose the special abilities, ie Tenacious, Carry Capacity, and Skills, ie Acrobatics +3, Perception +8, Survival +2 (+6 scent), Feat skill focus: perception? Does the melee bite lose the Trip bonus?
Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
