You can get from the airport to the town center by light rail and express bus. Use the King County Metro Trip Planner it is $5.25 cash ($2.75 + $2.50 exact change required) or $2.75 if you use an Orca card (which has an initial outlay of $5).

If you're planning on using public transportation for more than just to the hotel and back to the airport, buy an Orca card. It reduces the overall fare as the transit system does not use transfers here.

Here's the map to the Redmond Town Center where the hotel is.

I was thinking of going over on Tuesday, grabbing all the restaurant take-out menus, and scanning them in. I could throw them up in a public dropbox folder if folks were interested?

Heya all,

Redmond doesn't do their fireworks on the 4th, they have theirs at Derby Days which is the following weekend. Rumor has it that some of you folks might be in town early and are looking for fireworks shows.

On the 4th there are parades in the neighboring town of Kirkland and a fireworks show at 10:15 p.m. Kirkland event schedule. You can bus to Kirkland from the Redmond transit center on bus 248 but I don't think you'll be able to bus back to Redmond after the fireworks as the last bus leaves Kirkland at 10:50 p.m.

Bellevue also has fireworks on the 4th, pretty much the same bus situation.

If you're up for going across the bridge into Seattle there is the family 4th celebration that starts at 10 a.m. and goes all day Family 4th at Lake Union

Or you can do what I do, let the kids fall asleep on the couch and watch the fireworks on TV. They show in HD on King 5.
