Even though I loathed Pathfinder 1e I could not resist temptation and broke down and purchased the Pathfinder 2e core rulebook, Bestiary, GM screen, and Condition Cards at my local FLGS last night. I had heard so many good reviews I just had to give it a try.

I would like to collect the PDF versions of these as well. Does Paizo have a complimentary PDF program when you purchase the physical products and if so, what must I do to get this going, please?

I am just returning to the Pathfinder RPG scene after a very long time away and I need to build a lvl 1 Barbarian. The only problem is that I am pretty clueless, especially after being away so long.

Can anyone build me a lvl 1 Barbarian that is as optimized as possible? I'd greatly appreciate any help I can get. Any advice on how to spec him as he levels would be greatly appreciated as well while I re-familiarize myself with the game again.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Anyone out there that can point me please to the best archer build you can find? I am just coming back to Pathfinder after long time away and am pretty much clueless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Today what are the top 3 best/most effective classes in Pathfinder? Also, does anyone know where I can find great builds for these classes?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't played pathfinder in quite some time and I haven't been the biggest fan of it overall. However, I have the itch currently to do a fantasy game in a dark Gothic setting similar to Ravenloft. I was told to look into Rule of Fear and the Carrion Crown adventure path.

How do these products compare to the content and atmosphere of the old Ravenloft setting and would you say it is superior to the newer Wizards of the Coast Shadowfell setting and Heroes of Shadow?

I have been out of Pathfinder for quite some time and am gearing up for a campaign here locally that has some room. I have to go back and read up on the rules again and stuff. I am looking at playing an Elven Ranger since the party could use something like that. I am thinking Elf would probably synergize well with Ranger. I need to make a lvl 5 PC.

I am thinking of being either a mobile damage dealer or a dual wielding damage dealer. Whichever is more effective really.

Do any of you have any builds and/or suggestions? I am pretty clueless at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

I have been out of Pathfinder now for quite some time and have some brushing up to do on the rules. In my area pretty much the only way to play a game at all is if you play Pathfinder/3.5/D&D 4e. I was interested mostly in a lot of other games but getting players and keeping them is exceedingly difficult in Columbus, Ohio.

I am interested now in possibly jumping into a Pathfinder group and thinking of either playing a Ranger or a Paladin or Fighter type.

My question is how good are these classes these days with the options and books that have been published so far and in comparison to the other classes. When the game first came out I read a lot of threads that made the claim that Wizards still ruled in the upper levels and that Clerics were overly powerful.

My friends have started a new Pathfinder RPG campaign based on evil aligned characters. I am thinking of playing a Drow or something like that as a Ranger and not being so focused on range combat but instead being a melee striker DPS machine. I am thinking dual wielding some kind of blade type. No this is not a Drizzt ripoff but something interesting for me to try.

Could anyone give me a good lvl 1 Ranger build like this here please and maybe some advice on what to do as I level?

Thanks so much!

I am working on creating a new 6th. lvl Half-Elf Druid for my girlfriend for a local game we play in. Does anyone have any recommendations for feats to take? I am a bit clueless.

I know the core rulebook goes on sale at the open of GenCon on Thursday morning. However, there was talk a while back that the devs may ration out how many copies will be available each day and I am wondering if a decision has been made on that yet? Will the core rulebook be rationed or just remain a first come first served free for all? I prefer the free for all, personally.

I just got the e-mail about the Pathfinder RPG selling out for preorders but will there still be a lot being sold at GenCon on August 13th?

I am getting ready to start playing in a new campaign locally using the Pathfinder beta rules. We will all be starting out at level 6 and I am going to play a wizard. I am seeking advice on how I should set my starting attributes and as to what feats, etc. would be really good for me to take. We are doing the 25 point epic high fantasy point buy. I am still learning about Pathfinder so this is kind of a learning experience for me.

Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know of any resources and/or has any tips on using 3rd. edition settings and races, etc. with Pathfinder? Some of the ones I've been considering are d20 Rokugan/Oriental Adventures, Dawnforge, Midnight, etc.

Here is my build so far from PCgen. Feel free to critique this and tell me what I should change, etc. to get what it is I am looking for with a battle Cleric.

Background

My local group will be starting a new beta Pathfinder group soon in a custom setting. I argued vehemently against that, wanting to play in Golarion, but to no avail. I have the 3.5 Oriental Adventures book and I know Pathfinder is supposed to be pretty comparable to 3.5. I would LOVE to be able to play in the game as a Samurai with maybe even some levels as a Ninja (subterfuge/espionage guy). How compatible would this be with Pathfinder beta and would the Samurai be at a disadvantage/behind the power curve in regard to other melee classes like Paladin, Fighter, etc?

I am assuming this means no one knows. lol

I am a new player to Pathfinder just starting out in a campaign and I am working heavily on memorizing as much of the rules as I can. The system is definitely a tad more rules-heavy than I usually prefer but I like overall what I'm seeing so far. I am looking for player aids though that can aid me in smoothly running my character or even running the game as a GM to reduce page flipping/pdf flipping. Does anyone know of any good player aids I can download or buy? Crib sheets, etc. would be really awesome.

Thanks in advance!

I am interested in possibly opening up a subscription or 2 to Pathfinder products but I am thoroughly confused about the subscriptions. Can anyone please explain a little about each subscription and an approximation of how much I can expect to pay monthly for each please? Does the supersub include all the different subs into one and how much would it cost approximately each month?

Thanks in advance!

I am thinking of rolling a new Paladin for a local game but I need a little help deciding a few things.

First off, we are using the point buy method for buying attributes, the high fantasy 20 points one. What would you suggest as an attribute spread under this method?

Secondly, I might choose the trait from the traits download that lets you start with 900 gold so I can buy a decent weapon, some armor, and a shield to start. Any suggestions?

Thirdly, what would you suggest for race and starting feats? I am kind of thinking of human so I can easily make Paladin a favored class and to get an extra feat. What do you all think?

Fourth, What is the main difference between Fighter and Paladin in this game?

Thanks in advance!

Will there be a good chance of actually being able to purchase the physical rulebook at GenCon. Last year I was terribly disappointed by WotC because I desperately wanted to buy the KOTOR Star Wars Saga Edition book there but they brought a tiny supply with them and they sold out before I had chance to get one.

On the 13th. will they go on sale in the morning when GenCon opens?

We have all heard numerous times how overshadowed melee classes are in 3.5 by their caster counterparts. However, I am now hearing that Pathfinder doesn't really address this much or even attempt to. Can any of you that have played Pathfinder enough to have a melee character or know of one in your group into the higher levels please talk a bit about how they play out in the high levels? Do they get overshadowed by casters? I am a bit encouraged in the fighters get feats at every level, etc. and hope this is not the case.

I am a little concerned about Pathfinder for a few reasons. First off, I am so far really liking Pathfinder....a lot better than 4e in fact. I am enthralled with the campaign world as well.

However, in looking through the beta they did not streamline and simplify/change as much about 3.5 as I would have thought or liked. In addition, I am hearing a LOT of people saying that even with the class boosting that has occurred so far that melee classes are still woefully underpowered, especially at higher levels, just like 3.5. Is this indeed true?

Also, I am hearing that quite a few of the changes inherent in the Pathfinder beta are getting pulled back some for the final product and that the release book will be more similar to 3.5. Is this true as well?

These kinds of things have me very concerned. I am a bit afraid to invest a lot of money and time into a system that still contains the majority of the flaws that made me loathe 3.5 originally. I thought Pathfinder was intended to simplify and fix these issues.

When looking at my Pathfinder beta character in this version of PCGen under the Character Sheet tab I have found that I really like the look of the Fantasy_Character_Sheet.html sheet that is selectable via the dropdown list on the right hand side of the program under where it says "Character Sheet." However, there is no option in the program to export to this character sheet type. I would love to have this as an option to use for my character sheet instead of the default ones listed under export.

Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

I have a few questions about the Pathfinder adventure paths. I am thinking of starting a subscription to these. I am assuming it will just start out with you receiving the next adventure in their current adventure path (Curse of the Crimson Throne, Rise of the Runelords, etc) but I am also assuming then that I would then have to go back and purchase the other ones in that series that came out before I subscribed, right?

Also, I don't know much about each path so far. Can I get a little info about each one released so far as to the region each s in and the typical theme of each?

How good are these paths so far?

Thanks!

There is a really cool output sheet available (kind of looks like its
carved from reddish stone with gold lettering). This is a really nice sheet and much better than the normal output sheets the program normally uses. Is there a way to print out my character with this sheet or one like it? Please help!

I am brand new to Pathfinder and unfortunately never had a chance to play 3e or 3.5e. I am familiar though with various forms of d20 including Mutants & Masterminds 2e, Star Wars Saga Edition, etc. I am gearing up for a new online campaign with some friends I decided to try a Sorceror for my first character. If you all would be so kind I am looking for critiques/comments/criticism, etc. I don't want to gimp myself for sure. Thanks in advance!

I am still n00bish to the default campaign world of Pathfinder. However, isn't it true that the campaign world contains many really cool and unique areas such as a Ravenloft-like area, an Al-Qadim-like area, an Egyptian area, etc? If so, this will definitely be the setting and game for me.

I am wondering though if there currently is or are plans for an asian area, perhaps with Samurai, Ninja, etc?

Thanks in advance!

I am playing in a just starting out Pathfinder rpg group and am DESPERATELY trying to get my hands on a print copy of the Pathfinder beta rules. However, now Paizo is no longer selling any copies. This is not a good way to spread the game to others with the release coming at GenCon in August. I have several people I want to show the game to that I know would be interested in playing but only if I can get a print copy over to show to them.

Do any of you have a print copy you would be willing to sell me or know of some other way? I have not been able to find ANYTHING Pathfinder related on EBay and I checked with my local Kinkos. To print the pdf would cost me almost $40 and then after I purchse a binder and tabs for it I will have spent nearly $50.

I am getting ready to start playing in a Pathfinder beta campaign and I'm still trying to decide between a few classes what I want to play out of the box. I am trying to decide between Paladin, Fighter, Druid, Monk, or Sorceror. I was kind of leaning toward a melee character but am unsure how good they are in general in Pathfinder.

I know that in D&D 3.5 Wizards vastly were more powerful than melee characters at high levels. Does Pathfinder address this problem at all and do fighters/monks get outshined by wizards in the high levels?
