Your team signed up yesterday and and submitted the symbol of your group to the priests of Phrasma for the lottery today. Any exploring was cut short yesterday when a sandstorm which drove your team indoors.

The worst of the storm passed last night but there is a gloom in the air today as you arrive at the market for the lottery.

The bustling desert city of Wati is near bursting with excitement. Adventurers from every corner of the Inner Sea region have assembled here beneath the hot Osirian sun to explore the tombs of the city's necropolis, waiting only to be assigned their first sites for exploration.

Surrounding the participants, the public has gathered to observe the ceremony as well. There is a festival-like quality in the air, and numerous street vendors are hawking goods and refreshments to participants and spectators alike. Some merchants have even brought what can only be considered adventuring gear to sell as last minute convenience items to explorers, while others advertise that they'll buy recovered treasures and antiquities from those who visit their establishments.

In front of the imposing edifice of the Grand Mausoleum, an immense awning has been erected between decorated pillars in the market to provide shade for the priests of Pharasma overseeing the lottery. Beneath the awning, two urns sit atop a table on the stage. The high priestess of the Grand Mausoleum, Sebti the Crocodile, sits behind the table, while two acolytes confer with her at either side. Behind her stands Saleem the armed priest and a new priest a tall lanky man who seems to be talking to himself. You haven't seen him before. You overhear from people in the crowd that his name is Ptemenib.

Numerous adventuring groups stand in small clusters near the stage. Most keep to themselves, but some teams engage in quiet conversation with other teams, mostly speculating about what they'll likely face in the necropolis. There is a group of halflings riding war dogs their lances lifted and flying pendants like they are ready for a parade. A team of all women in white leather armor, they keep to themselves. The guys in red are back looking over the teams.

You still have some time before the lottery begins

I am starting up an online campaign and run into a snag and my searches haven't revealed any info. Then again I don't know which section to search so I thought I would post here.

If any of you know old threads that answer these questions or where to ask just post.

I am used to running games on Myth Weavers which allows lots of threads for a game. If I wanted to run a pregame for potential players to run around in how do I do that. Or is that done at all here?

How do I pick the 6 players to play in the game. It seems that once I post the game thread anyone posting gets into the game?

I see that everyone kind of uses campaign tab for everything. Do you generally run the entire game out of a single thread or do you close it at some point and open another?

I am running an adventure path so is it okay if i copy room descriptions from the PDF or do I have to paraphrase everything? I am already redrawing maps and other materials just so I'm not posting up to much content from the actual module but wanted to know how everyone else deals with it.

Thanks for any help!

Wish they had this in the FAQ

I'm curious about what people think of the new Mummy's Mask Adventure path and wanted to see if anyone was interested in playing in it? I will GM.

As slow as PbP goes I think the entire adventure path will be out before the party reaches the last two modules.

Silver Crusade

Just for the fun of making a odd NPC i made a halfling that bit in combat named Cheu. As a goof it worked but then I realized that with the right rage powers using natural weapons is viable.

But 1st level it seems I have no choice but to use a weapon until he gains a rage power.

What is a good build to make a barbarian that uses tooth and claw. It can be any race.

The beast totem give two claw attacks at D6. Can I take Improved natural weapon?

Silver Crusade

I've been running pathfinder for a while and been running the game so that at 0HP players fall OKed for CON rounds. How do you deal with player hit points. When they hit zero what do you do?

Silver Crusade

Been wanting to run a PbP and wanted to do something short. So I'm looking for an adventure that might be fun. Any suggestions for a non-adventure path?

Silver Crusade

In one of my more wackier moments I made a halfling Barbarian named Cheu. Who, as the name suggests, has a habit of biting his opponents in battle.

So a Halfling Barbarian who bites. Is there any way to make this work as a character? Or do I need a different class. Obviously he isn't going to be doing massive damage. Unless I go Druid and start getting magical with his bites using spells.

i'll post complete maps and game play ind20pro. here is the section that you'll see. the lower area has the glowing runes. http://www.icheckfortraps.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/arena-enterance.jp g
The blood on contact with the gate glows and the metal screeches and begins to blacken and turn to ash. The gate like the rest of the room is made of that lattice of golden metal. What starts at the lock expands quickly turning more and more of the lattice to ash the ceiling and windows and even the latticework in the floor turns black and withers. But it isn't done. the blackening of the metal seems to flow across every piece of metal in the tower.

As you watch the tower begins to buckle and the massive tentacles crash through at every point the metal turns to ash. as you escape the tower heading up the stairs you see that a thicker stem like seem of the golden metal flows along the ceiling and it seemed that it was directly connected to the gate and from the gate the rest of the tower. the metal is growing out of this tunnel and from it the rest of the towers. The blood has severed the rest of the towers off from the source of the metal coming from the central tower. The metal isn't alive but seems to be some kind of spell.

You continue up the the stairs. the tunnel is made completely of the golden metal a woven tube . At the top is what looks like a cage made of the metal. a ten foot high space between the woven floor and ceiling. At the top of the stairs you find the way barred by a gate that is already beginning to turn to ash. The Cage like area is almost 30 feet across and seemed to be connected to other cages by tunnels. The entire area is in open air the tower descending into darkness and raising into the dark interior of a tower except there is a central cage that has a beam of light raising into darkness. The middle cages seem to have green glowing runes along their edges in the center of those cages are floatings crystal glowing green like the runes.

The entire area seems to have snow falling through it obscuring the far side of the tower and the further cages

There is a scream and clash of blades across the tower and the vibrant white flash of lightning lashing out of the gloom as it strikes someone. Then it is quiet again as the gate falls away into ash.

The Herald once again calls out to you. "you must fight your way to the center only the strongest of you can ascend the path of light. The crystals they -"

A glow seems to pulse out from the crystals and the runes and his voice it cut off.

The gate now gone you see the cage clearly. The mesh that makes up the floor is covered in blood and pieces of armor and broken arrows and a hundred other bits of battle. But what stands out most are hands. Four or five hands with the Herald's rune blazing in the palm. There are no signs of the bodies just the battles. You realize that the rune may not whisk the looser away. Someone wants you dead, for good.

The Necropolis - Day - Late Morning - Tomb Day One

Both of you have the feeling of being thrown up incredibly fast through the light. wind rushing around you but it is quiet. As if the sound is very far off, but getting closer as you race toward it.

Then suddenly there is a floor green marble floor inlaid with a lattice of golden metal and you land on it hard enough to stumble. Both of you are alone in separate 20' circular rooms. Looking around you see that you are in towers. The windows are covered in a golden looking latticework that gives off a soft light that illuminates the room and a single staircase leading up out of the room.

Beyond the window you see tentacles as something massive and terrifying pulls itself up the tower. far below it are the chants and war cries of warriors fighting. The tower is part of what looks like a massive fortress raising into the smoke the fills the sky around the massive beast. below you see massive shapes forming and raising along the side of the towers.

Looking up you see the ceilings are all woven metal latticework. It only hold shards of glass the rest of it is covering the floor

Nico still clinging to the side of a column is hit again and again by magic missiles as Meredith comes splashing through the water trying to bring him down.

Even as Nico looks down the sun setting behind the tower there is still enough light to see the water beginning to turn black as if ink is running up and out of both the staircases against the flow of water. Even as both notice this you hear a mighty explosion of stone and screams of metal as both the small towers are torn and broken. There are no tentacles in view. just the ominous ink like blackness coming through the water

Nico had just activated his challenge as this happened.

As you both talk arguing the semantics of servants you are both rocked by an impact against the side of the tower. Dust and twisted metal blast out of the archway from the small towers you came from as they are torn apart by the tentacles.

As you stare in amazement at the destruction more tentacles wrap around the windows and roof of the tower. they are grabbing and pulling trying to find purchase.

Just come across this issue and having discussed it. does control water actually create and destroy water, or does it just move it?

A 2nd level wizard can effect a 20x20x4 foot block of water so does that mean he can take a pool and grow it to that volume of water? Or does it mean as long as the pool of water is smaller than 20x20 he can raise it to 4 feet?

So a white dragon blasts a party trying to cross a stream. Does the water freeze and how much? I would think it would but are there any rulings on breath weapons on water?

Across the planes and myriad world the obelisks rose. 60 feet of smoky glass topped with a living gold herald, indestructible and shining brightly a beacon for all to see. The Heralds announce the competition. A call for the greatest warriors to fight in a game of the gods. To prove themselves true champions ready to take on anything and anyone. The winner to be given mythic power. The time of the competition draws near and the heralds are opening portals to The Arena. The challenge begins.

This is an adventure. An intense one on one match between each group of champions to the finish. everything happens over the course of a day so it is a short game. Great to jump in for a short length game. Depending on how it goes i will probably run it again.

I decided to start a thread on an idea that started from the deadliest warrior thread but thought of more of an adventure type idea. Everyone is a contestent in a contest. The entire arena is a series of "Y"s leading into a central hub. Every contestent moves from their branch fighting their opposite. the winner then moves on fighting battle after battle until the final 2 contestants meet in the middle and battle to be the champion.

The outer branches are simple battle fields and they get progressively more complex as you get to the center.

Since everyone is traveling in they will have a little time to prep.

What do you think of this idea.

So I was playing around with the idea of a character using a scythe and being a guy that wanted to be a paladin and got so into the killing that he never made it through basic training and got kicked out (so class wise he isn't a paladin). So he the idea is that he is this rim reaper guy coming out of the shadow to take out enemies. But of course he has a big ass scythe so in game terms what class should he be? Something with stealth but rogue can't use a scythe. A ranger maybe since they also get stealth?

Any thoughts?
