Matrix.org is getting there, and there are managed hosting options. It’s under active development and the Debian core development team just moved to it from IRC, so it probably has a good future. Or course, there is still old school IRC.

I would always rather use forums for async discussions than Discord. Forums are much more searchable, discoverable and have better archives.

Sure, Discord is ok enough now, but what about when it enshittifies or gets bought by a not see? Far better to control your own discussion space on your own servers running open source software that you can modifies as needed. I highly recommend discourse.org (no relation, just a happy user) for exactly those reasons. It's easy to setup and run on whatever hardware or managed hosting you want and maintain control over your space. Selt-hostable, exportable FOSS or GTFO.

There are. Flying Carpets, Apparatus of Kwalish, Foldable Boat, etc are all magic vehicles. Also, check out the old 3.5 Eberron campaign setting. It has magic airships, trains, horseless carriages, etc.

No, just plain no. I'm sure that others on the board can do a more crunchy analysis, but lets start with the basics:

+1d6 is only +3.5dmg, on average and generally only on a 1d6 weapon. No +hit, no fancy other effects.

Yes, that is a decent amount of damage, as is proper for a rogue, but as the DSP Olympics thread shows, a reasonably well built fighter will significantly, reliably out DPR a rogue, while having a better AC and more HP.

EDIT:
The numbers from the DPS Olympics thread (level 10 characters, normalizing restrictions) look something like this:
Rogue 30-45 DPR
Fighter 50-60 DPR
