Most commonly, the Artificer is pointed at for several Caster Level tricks that abuse spells with no built in Caster Level limitations(Use Magic Device checks to push your Use Magic Device result high enough; simulate a massive CL; cast spell which doesn't have limits). This requires a VERY liberal reading of the RAW, however, and the designers have confirmed that the RAW was not intended to allow the trick, as Artificer Infusions aren't supposed to be placeable in normal magic items. Other than that, I'm not sure what would be considered broken about the Artificer.
I just recieved the order, and it appears that despite the large 'do not bend' on the front, the envelope was bent rather thoroughly in transit. It's not quite unusable, but after a few hours of trying to get it to unbend, it's still returning to the old, bent shape which makes it difficult to hold open and read. Given that your 'Product Returns' page only gives information about the Campaign Workbook, what would I need to do to get a replacement?

Subject says it all. Couldn't find any previous discussion on the topic. It seems that the rules as written say yes, so really I'm wondering if I missed something; though I won't be mad if people discuss RAI. The invitation delivered last night was remarkably simple, especially given the importance of the occasion: “Start where it all began. Meet us at the Pig’s Paunch one hour before dawn.” The Pig’s Paunch is a run-down building with a faded sign of a large pig standing on its hind legs, arms folded above a corpulent belly. Inside, the air is thick with the scents of human sweat, stale tobacco, and leftover food. In the center of the room, surrounded by inebriates sleeping off their revelries, a familiar elven man stands high upon top of a large round table. “Welcome! Welcome, my students! Please, have a seat!” With that, Kreighton Shaine, the Pathfinder Society’s Master of Scrolls, nimbly drops down to sit cross-legged on the table before looking about the tavern with a sense of reverent wonder. “Can you believe it? It all started here years ago—well, over four hundred of them at least. Under this very roof the Pathfinder Society was born. “But today! Today you will begin your Confirmation! Master Farabellus, Master Zey, and I all agree you each have shown your worth and dedication to the Society, so there’s no better time to see if you can handle becoming full field operatives. Allow me to introduce you to Janira Gavix,” he says as he motions for an excitable halfling woman to approach. She wears a large backpack and carries all manner of tools, pouches, and scroll cases around her waist. Shaine continues, saying, “Janira here will be going with you on your Confirmation. She was one of my brightest pupils and will no doubt be an invaluable resource on your journey, for she discovered the caves you are about to explore during her own Confirmation.” Janira speaks up in an enthusiastic and cheerful voice, “Greetings, aspiring Pathfinders! Six months ago, while I was mapping cave entrances in the foothills of the Kortos Mounts, I witnessed a lone gillman entering a concealed cave. I thought little of it at the time, but I saw another one enter the cave again a month later as my Confirmation stretched on. A few days later, after I completed my assigned task, I entered the cave system, but was unable to find the gillmen.” Master Shaine hops to his feet. “Initiates, for your Confirmation, you will travel to these caves to explore and document its many passages. Additionally, and most importantly, you are to learn what the gillmen are up to in there. Oh, and you need to come back alive as well.” With these parting words, the Master of Scrolls jumps off the table and strolls out of the building while humming to himself. Feel free to introduce yourselves in character and make Knowledge (geography) or Knowledge (history) checks now. We'll actually get started tomorrow or tonight around midnight.

Greetings, Pathfinders. The Third Play by Post Game Day is coming up, and I thought I'd provide another table for The Confirmation. I really enjoy this scenario as it provides good context for your characters to explore why they decided to join the Society and provides opportunities for an array of skills to be useful. So... Activating a style is a swift action, Kirin Style requires a swift action Knowledge check to gain any benefits from the style, and Kirin Strike requires it's own swift action to add the damage. Is this really intended to require three separate swift actions (one to activate your style, one to make the knowledge check, and one to finally add the damage)? It seems a bit much... You get no benefit from the swift action to activate Kirin Style until the following round when you can make your knowledge check. Additionally, this makes that style practically useless in conjunction with Combat Style Master because even though you can now activate your style with a free action and gain the defensive bonuses from the knowledge check in the first round of combat, you had to take a second style feat for that and every time you switch Styles you have a make another knowledge check slowing you down significantly. It's probably fine that Kirin Style is difficult to use with other styles, but since it uses so many swift actions, I almost feel like I have to take a useless second style and Combat Style Master as a feat tax to make the style I want to use viable. |
