So in a dragon focused campaign with subtle warnings of a dragon dwelling cavern, my level 7 party of 3 (Magus, Alchemist and Rogue)found it unreasonable to find a juvenile black dragon waiting for them at the end of the cavern system. This was meant to be an epic encounter as this was their first major "boss" encounter. I had given them a wand of resist energy and had quite a bit of acid around the cave to lead them more to to ward the dragons type to being black.

Do you guys on the boards think this encounter be unreasonable as most of my group seemed to think?

Included in the treasure horde were 2 scrolls of raise dead (party has high UMD) incase things went sour and only one survived.

Hey all, I'm running my first ever gestalt game, planning on doing council of thieves as a basis for the game, I'm in need of advice on how to modify encounters to factor in for the power increase the pc's will have. Do I make the npc's gestalt as well and up the CR of monster encounters? Or is there more to do than that?

After my current Carrion Crown AP has ended, either by TPK or reaching its natural conclusion, one of my players has decided to run Jade Regent. I am going to be playing a Human Sorcerer as I've never really played an arcane caster, possibly with the goal of going into Dragon Disciple so will defenetly be taking the Draconic Bloodline and the Green Dragon bloodline form it. I will be taking the Tattoo Sorcerer Archetype from Inner Sea Magic and need help with feat and spell and such (1 trait is the Younger Sibling trait in relation to Amiko)

Assuming 20 Point Buy so far I have
=======
Str 14
Dex 16
Con 12
Int 8
Wis 10
Cha 16

HP 8

Feats
Varisian Tattoo [Conjuration] (Bonus)
Point Blank Shot
Precise Shot
=======

I took PB and Precise as I wanted to use rays at an early level and not take shooting into combat penalties (I am aware of allies providing Cover to enemies so would rather only take the cover penalty instead of both). The tattoo is Conjuration as this is what most Acid Spells come from so casting at +1 Caster Level will be useful especially if I dip to other classes for DD.

Anywhos any advice would be greatly appreciated and a lack of Spoilers would be similarly appreciated =)

So just finished GM'ing my first session of carrion crown. I have a very antagonistic player in my group who I thought may have toned down after a few few character deaths caused by his own actions. During the Return to Restlands section the party decide to go to the grave without permission and go in separately at night. Of course this player goes along despite being being poor at stealth gets caught and chucked out of the graveyard along with the other 2 players at the Restlands by grave diggers in scale mail (basically used the acolytes for gm guide). They decide to go back later in the same night the player was again caught and was warned to leave and refused to do so and drew his weapons. I tried to just use magic to force him away using cause fear. The player charged and nearly killed one of the grave diggers. The tactics used were then changed from removing the intruder to defending themselves. The character was killed but the party now find themselves with next to no trust points, losing the initial 2 points for intruding then have lost another 6 for the violent crime committed. Just wondering how you guys would work the trust points from then on with one dead character reducing the score by 8 in the opening session.
