I need some help. My players are just starting SoLS and where told not to go to Manzorian's fortress because of the wards. Well I have this feeling that they are going to try and go any way. What wards would you use for the fortress? I really don't have any idea what to use. Thanks in advance for your help.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I really messed this up and my players had WAY to much money coming out of the games. Be careful with the betting.

Well, I must be more tired than I though. I turned the page and there it was.

Help! Where can I find information on the slashing darkness ability of the the wormcaller in SoLS? Any help would be great.

Hello All,
I need some help!! Here's what is going on. My players have breezed through all but the last battle. They have bet on themselves and now have tons of cash. They have decided that they are going to skip the last fight and infiltrate Rakains palace instead. They have missed quite a bit during the adventure. They never found the Shrine of Kyuss, so they don't know that this is where the Ulgurstasta is. They figured out that the crowd at the games was probably at risk from the Ulgurstasta. So how would you all handle this.

I think that if they really decide not to compete in the last fight, I will have the third place team compete and have things move forward as they would have anyway. Any help would be great.

Not offended at all. I actually did a copy/paste from another post. I think having them see a little movement is a good idea.

Help! I have a question. If the PC's look through the dome that leads to the Ulugastra, can they see anything below? I have read the description multiple times and really can't find an answer. I was thinking that they would not be able to see what was below the dome. Maybe just a sickly green glow. How have others handled this? Am I just missing something?

My group is intent on getting into Loris' palace. Are there any good maps that could be used for the palace? Have any other DM's had there player's get into his house? Any ideas what I should allow the PC's to find in the house? Any help would be great.

Hello,
I was just wondering if the game was still going? Noticed that there where no updates for quite sometime. Also, I really like what you've written so far. It is actaully helping me in the running of my own AoW campagian. Thanks agian for the great story.

Help! I have a player who is insisting on going to the Great Library and doing his own research. The party has already meet Eligos and asked for his help. Once they found out he was going to the Library to do research, the player decieded he should go to. My question is, based on the first three adventures, what information would you allow him to gain? I hope this makes sense. One of my shortcomings as a DM is knowing how much information to give to the players at any given time. Any help would be great. Please let me know if more information is needed.

Thanks,
Beldar

There is a list of all the adventures in the "Overload" article that was put out. It also has conversion notes, stat blocks, Etc.
Hope this helps.

Sol
Don't feel bad. I couldn't figure it out either. Do you have to sign up for the site to be able to download?

Can anyone tell me what the Wind Dukes have to do with the AP. I looked in the archives, but really didn't find anything.

Tomovasky,
I've run one of my groups through the frist three adventures so far and I think Centaurs would have a very hard time. With all the things that happen underground I just think they would have a hard time.
I'm getting ready to run a second group and I'm only allowing the core races. I've tried to let the player's use the odd monster PC's and found that it just doesn't seem to work well.
I hope this helps. I didn't want to say to much in the post in case there are player's lurking about.

Crazy Duck,
Thanks for the reply. I have between 6-9 players at any one time. The group I run is for kids that range in age from 10-16. I think they could handle your version.
Thanks,
Beldar

Crazy Duck,
Thanks for posting this. I'm getting ready to start a new group and this is just what I need to get them going. I don't know if you posted the Mine Office encounter yet. If you have could you put the link in this thread as well.

My group is about to finish EaBK. I'm going to be taking a few months break so that someone else can run for awhile. I'm hoping that the players don't forget to much about what has happened when we pick back up.

I agree with the last post. I they are always there and engaged in the game they should get the reward. You could even do some of this via e-mail if need be. I have even given half XP to players if they have to miss a session once in a while. I think that as long as they are there most of the time and adding to the game that they shouldn't be punished for missing a session. It also helps to keep them somewhat close in level to the other PC's.

Not a player in this one. I'm running the game.

If you go to the site, use IE. I can't get the site to work properly in Firefox. Just a bit of help.

Hello all,
I have a quick question. In Whispering Carin there is a mention towards the end of unkillable zombies. It's in the note on Filge's desk. What is the deal with this? Did I miss something somewhere? Are these the Spawn of Kyruss? I don't really remember reading anything about the zombies. Please help. My group has grabbed hold of this little tid bit and I'm afraid that I'm missing something somewhere.

It sounds like you ran it fine to me. Straight combat between the dogs. As for how to make bigger badder dogs. I think you could just use the advancement rules like you would for monsters. I'm not positive if that will work, but hopefully you will get some more responses.

I just started running the AoW and my party just got to the stairs leading to area 19. How far do the steps go down? To me it looks like they were only about 10ft down. If this is the case, how can the entire area be under water. I think I really messed this part up!!!

I'm getting ready to start running the game in a few weeks and I think I'm going to use this same idea. I was also thinking of just making all the PC's miners. Has anyone done this? Did it work?

Beldar

I read somewhere that the group from Pazio where keeping a log of thier trek through AoW. I haven't been able to find it. If anyone has the link to it could you please post it. It's probably easy to find, but I haven't. Thanks for your help!

I had this exact thing happen to me when I was a new DM. I started running the adventure and about 3 weeks in someone finally decide to tell me that all but one of the players had already played the adventure. I'll have to say, I was pretty mad. The players said they would still play and not use thier OOC knowledge. That didn't work at all. I think that they can say all they want that they won't use the OOC knowledge, but I believe that that's much easier said than done. I think you will need to change the adventure completely for it to be fun. I would just try to find something different to run if it was me.
