Blocking downtime into 8 day (or less) segments is an excellent way of preventing one bad roll from ruining your 24 days of downtime after an AP, or to keep a player from coasting on one good roll for that 24 days. So for a quest that provides 2 days of Downtime, I have 1 block (2 days) of Downtime I can use. A field-commissioned agent after a scenario has 2 blocks (8 days, 4 days).
I'll go ahead and voice my opinion... I don't really care too much :P That being said. If it is a matter of rewarding dedication, why was a similar acceleration not done with Novas? If it is a matter of rules knowledge, why would we receive a subsidization from a different system? In regards to providing a boon based on 1e Stars, I don't have an issue with it provided it has no significant game effect or that there is some way it could be earned by a new player. Perhaps it is an exclusive boon for the first year or two but becomes available at a later date to all...

I completely agree with point 1. But I don't mind fractions THAT much...I would suggest if they stay they be simple, say a numeric scale of 1, so .5 (1/2) or .2 (1/5) but not .25 (1/4) or .125 (1/8) and certainly not something repeating like 1/3 or 1/6. If it is a 5 quest pack each quest could be .2 XP and the whole series be 1 XP. The math stays pretty simple, and the numbers small (which seems to be a concern). But, I would prefer whole numbers, just don't really want to see 6XP/scenarios or 31XP/module or whatever just to have 1XP/quest on slow track.

I am also anxiously waiting for the e-mail and concerned that I did something wrong on the application... I guess I will find out today if I did or not. |
