Hi ,

i just got my rage of the element, i was hoping to find a framework to build a genie eidolon
but its not really there ( an elemental is in the book but i would not work for a genie )

how would you built something that feel like a genie ?

mentions of Belkzen and Gnolls in Katapesh DO give them a similar in game treatment.

i dont think so for katapesh, its more of a tribute to the ultra capitalist anything goes of katapesh its not that gnolls are accepted ( if you play legacy of fire you will see most people live in the fear of a gnoll leader uniting them all )but more of if you sell i'll buy i dont care who you are

katapesh is really something else a devil doing shopping would be ok ...but he must buy something :)

interesting point i really need to understand what happenned in the last AP ( i want to ply it so plz dont spoil :) )

i can only imagine the impact the WT release had on the setting

in the area i can see why people would try to get along if only to survive

i will think about it but you gave me an excellent argument , ty

i thank you for your answers

i have read Michael Sayre post.i can see the crooked toes gaining fame and recongnition after what they have done ( and maybe gaining the benefit of the doubt for other goblins...i really need to play that ap to understand what happened :)) but the other exemples seems like exceptional and very local case or individuals

all that should work for orcs or gnolls...they have been there forever like goblins surely there are tribes that get along with "civilised" people yes they are still seen as menace

worldwide recongnition deserve better than that

Hi,

i hoped the CRB would contain some fluff about how the goblins where now acepted in "civilised" world all i found wasa vague reference to an event that lead goblins tribe to
try and be accepted by the world

but every standard description on the goblins as a race ( not individuals who always have the potential for more..) prior to 2nd ed CRB make it hard to make it work in the cmapaign world

they have not been unjustly maligned( not unjustly..) but what worries me is that a goblin is
not in a better spot that say Orcs , Gnolls , kobolds ,ogres , hill giants..
they prey on other civilised ( or not ) people and are seen as menace . are there place where they are acceoted ? certainly , katapesh is a prime exemple of one such place but
i doubt any of those would be welcome to Opara, or any great city ...or village for that matter at least not without a godd supporting story

i know they are playing races but i have always thought that would be more interesting in a frontier type a game . all i ask is some kind of backstory for it i really hope to see one in the wolrd guide for i like consistency i'd rather rule them out than let them suddenly become ubiquitous in every cites i make

i'm finding more and more variation of attack of opportunity
on different creatures and i find it increasingly difficult
to think we won anything by replacing the AOO unified rules by a myriad
of variation that are creature dependant (AOO- fighter vs scorpion sting - giant scorpion not the same but really close yet different enough passe for an aoo but with different rules)

the game feel like a miniature combat game with all the rules on the models cards rather than a strong flexible unified rule.

the back order action in doomsday dawn feel exactly like mini combat trick
cool but its a roleplaying game so player doing the exact same act wont get the same result its a miniature proprietary move ...and it feels wrong

I know DD5 has lots of reaction/ actions that are tied to specific creatures but honestly in most case its a sad mistake we should not repeat
its not simplier nor does it bring faster combat resolution

its the polar opposite of what has been done in 1st ed , bringing nothing but a miniature combat flair ( its a nightmare to have to check and recheck every special move on every beast you pit your players against)

Hi

to begin ,i should say i am a huge fan of the work paizo has done on 1st ed for me its all about options when i tried Dnd5 i could'nt shake the feeling the game was a diluted simpler( to the extreme ) version of what it was.seeing how Dnd was such a commercial success i dreaded that PF2 would be something like that... on that account i was wrong and i'm really thankful about that.

the good

the modularity, its awesome you literally have options at every single level, always something to try or to choose

the character creation process avoid point buy and die roll to go in a traveller path of life system that is rather cool

spells can be upgraded cantrip are upgraded automatically ( one of the cool stuff in dnd5)

a lot of greaét stuff and options in equipement wich is nice

The Bad

the skill system does not make sense no fixed Dcs ,an untrained high level is mostly always better at the skill than a highly trained mid level.

the Ancestry pick are underwhelming, most the choices are about getting what we had from the get go in pf1 very few sexy options there

Touch Ac: the idea is that touch attack need just a contact not a blow not skin contact either so how come armor get in the formula i realize they give TAC i just dont understand why...the most cumbersome armor give more TAC...seems wrong to me

as is the play the game chapter is hard to read and unclear same for resonance wich could be explained better(wich one are invested or paid to activate...not really sure )

too many options locked behind class

those are the point a wanted to raise, i hope it helps. and if you paizo guys feel like dropping variation rules for the test please do.

more importantly good job hope you keep the sweet part :)

because filling someone you want to take alive with laser/plasma/wathevalethalweaponugot and then gently smak him on the top of his head with the last blow is a sound strategy and it feel weird...

police officer willing to take you inyo custody could use their guns and if the last shot is nonlethal its not even use of lethal force :D

thancks for your advices and the quick repsonses :)

Hi,

I really love the PF systeme and the way it changed the old maneuver system.

but recently a friend of mine launched a game ans i decided playing a warrior big/strong/high ac

and suddenly every monster i meet try to grab me ( my CMD is as high as it could get without imp grab and it is still way under my ac : CMD16 AC22)

- can i boost my cmd without the imp grab feat ?
my character is not supposed to be a wrestler and even with +2 my ac
will be higher wich means everyone will prefer to grab me than strike
me

- dodge seems to add to CMD , but does shield spécialisation(+1 ac when
shield worn - not sure about the name)adds to cmd -especially if you are
about to be grappled ?

I know i'm entitled to an opportunity attack when someone try to grab me
but that's juste one strike if there are multiple grapplers it doesnt help much

any advices would be cool

Hi,

i have two question regarding the new final(and awesome ) ruleset of pathfinder

what are the starting hit points?
in the beta there was a lot of option for the gm to decide what hit
points the starting pc's would begin with, i cant find the same rulez
here ...was it removed( wich would be sad, the idea was good ) ? or did
i miss something

can we use the traits system with this ruleset ?
are the traits system used in the pathfinders path adventure usable
with this set of rules ?
