Zizi ponders what has been shared and carefully watches the others in the room as she then takes charge, as is her nature, "It seems we have our work cut out for us. We need to find out what we can about these artifacts and see what our master's notes may tell us, if any have been left in their rooms. Also, while the memories are clear we need to focus on trying to discern what we can of the location our masters were at. Indeed, I had assumed she was still in the building as she didn't mention going anywhere, but it seems otherwise at this point."

"Silver, I was not refering to our combat ability, but our additional senses. A sneaky attacker wants to take by surprise. If we were there, it would have been much harder to sneak up on them, and very likely, surprise was a major factor in the attack going the way it did. Even a great wizard caught by surprise will be many times easier to defeat, than if fought head on."

"Tekumsah and Trakas were with us at the time, but have gone their own way. Bunnicula though, was missing all night. Not sure if he was involved or caught, or something else, but it is suspicious." Zizi added. "They had barely a moment's notice of something. We all got called by our masters but then before we could even leave the the room, our masters were gone." "We were at our weekly game. I figure the enemy knew about this and took advantage of our absence, or planned the attack for our absence."

Though she didn't say anything, Zizi will follow Silvertail and Anaxian (with her original plan of staying at a distance). Silvertail was right that they weren't normal, which also meant that if they were spotted, they'd be more likely to end up in trouble. She isn't overly worried about hiding from Siltertail or Anaxian, so it wouldn't be all that unlikely for them to realize what she is doing.

Did that for a christmas party in the army once (it was a base sponsored event) and a few buddies and I ended up at a table with disney trivia game. At first everyone thought we were going to be terrible but we ended up doing well, and a couple of us were unbeatable. I have a younger sister, as an excuse. Not sure about the other guy though. :)

I asked James about familiars with dead masters once, and according to him, it is different for every familiar. Some revert back to being a normal animal quickly, while others can take years or even never revert. So, not quite official answer is that familiars can retain power without a master.

Zizi steps up, "Thank you. We will meet there." and she grabs the ring with telekinesis and magically creates a vest with an inside pocket sized for the ring and puts the ring inside the pocket and wears the vest. The vest is plain black velvet with hot pink stitching.

"If we treat it as no big deal, then we likely won't be helped, after all who are we to disturb Morden over trivial matters? What we should do, is suggest the great importance but also the importance of secrecy. Without knowledge of what exactly the problem is, but that it is kmportant enough for Morden, then it does several favorable things. First, it improves our chances of getting the help we need. Second, it alerts the people we ask for help from to there being a problem in an abstract sense. Third, our masters being missing will likely be taken as them being off somewhere to deal with it or at least part of it. The last thing is something we can hint at as well, as explanation why our masters don't simply contact Morden themselves. Oh, and the second point means they'll be guard for trouble even if theh don't what kind yet."

Zizi portals back to the window sill. When asked about the survey outside,"Nothing. Nothing at all. I'm not certain our masters were even here, which begs the question of where were they? We should probably inform the guild master that we need to find Mordenkainen. Anything important enough for us contact him will probably be seen as important enough to do right now without need for detailed explanations."

Hey, I even commented on my +20 stealth, and I don't count? :( Zizi frowns, "Back in a minute or so," and portals herself outside, in the shadows across the street, where she hides and watches the outside of the building, looking for any activity, and for any lit windows. Unless she sees something, she'll pop back inside after a moment.

"Not likely. If they had, they'd have had us with them, in preperation to fight the threat, or help set the trap, or if they left us out of harm's way, then we would not have been called at the last moment. In any case, we should look around, but after we give the enemy a chance to leave. Besides, if we go right now, we might catch a glimpse of who did this from a safe vantage point."

"We should be wary of Bunnicula. Something like this often requires inside help. On the other paw, Bunnicula could be the first victim. First things first, we vacate the area quickly. We can come back to pick up anything we might want later. We should inform the locals. Not likely to help us much, but we might get lucky and it'll put them on their guard should this be the first step in a larger plan." Zizi steps through a brief portal up to the window ledge, looking out to see if this is a good way to exit.

1d20 ⇒ 8 With little chance of winning this pot, Zizi plays a low black dragon, allowing her to steal 2 gold from the pot. "Well, gotta get my share at least. But this is my last round. Someone needs me." Had 1000 gold left for 100 into the pot, so that makes a massive pot for a three dragon ante game. At least I got 2 of it back. Three dragon ante experience for the win!
Zizi has everything filled in (I think), except for equipment.
I decided I didn't need a +23 to stealth, so I swapped out a few ranks to acrobatics instead and I still have +20. I don't think I've ever had a rogue with such a good stealth skill before. Teenage Ninja Magic Kitty! :)

I'd rather keep to more basic familiars. Going with more crazy over-the-top stuff doesn't really fit the idea of being familiars. While I think an over-the-top game would be neat, I think it would also work better without the pretense of being familiars, not to mention that such a game would have a different focus than being mere familiars. The place of familiars is to be the small sidekicks, and the players get to be those that should be mere sidekicks and yet are instead heroes in their right, contrary to what they should be. Playing more powerful and weird creatures breaks that core concept of acting contrary to what should be. That is my opinion anyway.
I use old school sheets for building characters. They are made out of something called paper. An elegant sheet for a more civilized age. :) Jokes aside, writing on a phone is too difficult to work in an electronic format, so I build on paper first and then digitize once I've got it down, usually. Sometimes I finish equipment afterwards though.

Presumably, the vocal and somatic componants are like a language, and thus created, rather than being somehow inherent, otherwise, people would be largely incapable of producing the required componants. Also, there are plenty of non-humanoid creatures with magic, aboleths, if I recall correctly as big whales with tentacles that live underwater with no air to make humanoid sounds, make a good example here. Therefore, in her backstory, with some help she basically developed her own vocal and somatic componant "magic language" (like a substitution cipher of sorts) that fit her physical capacity and vocal range. Cats have over a hundred sounds they can produce, plenty for producing a full language, and being able to move ears and tail gives additional physical features to make use of.
