With the country needing to isolate due to the pandemic, my group started using Roll20 so we could continue playing. Since I started using Roll20, I have been struggling with entering the maps and getting them lined up with the Roll20 grid. I finally realized that I could make a guide layout grid in Photoshop, so I thought I would do that with one of the maps to see how off the map grid was. I was shocked to discover how much the map grid was off.

I took the map directly from the PDF into Photoshop and lined up the upper left corner of the top left square on the map grid with the Photoshop guide layout. Looking across the map, I found the map grid did not consistently line up with the Photoshop guide layout. The map grid would be off by as little as approximately .027 inches to as much as .107 inches. I tried making the same number of Photoshop guide layout columns that the map had, and I tried making the guide layout columns a consistent width, and it didn't matter. If I measured each box of one row on the map grid, the boxes would not be a uniform size.

How do you make a map on a grid when the grid is not consistent? I have always been impressed with the quality of material that Paizo puts out, but discovering the inconsistencies on map grids is very disappointing.

I recently bought Emerald Spire and as I was reading through it I wanted to add my own bookmarks. I particularly like to add a section of bookmarks that take me directly to the maps. When I tried to create a bookmark I discovered that the PDF was locked up so tight I couldn't create my own bookmarks. I fully understand locking it to prevent copyright infringement but how does creating my own bookmarks threaten that? Paizo, you're a great company and I love your products, but this is going too far. Allow us to create our own bookmarks in the PDFs so we can enjoy the book in the way we want.

Thank you.

I was wondering why this hasn't been made available as a PDF.

Being particular about the items I buy I'm not willing to "give" my players a campaign card from my collection. Some players have a hard enough time locating their character sheet for each game. There's also the player who stops playing without warning and the player who "ages" their character sheet with food droppings and spilled drinks. Why would I let them hold onto a card from my Campaign Cards that could get lost or mutilated? I would, however, be willing to print a copy of the card to give to them and not worry about them losing or mutilating the cards.

I'm sure I'm not the only GM like this who would love to have access to the PDF versions of Campaign Cards meant to be shared with the players.

I just moved from central Indiana to Langley, WA on Whidbey Island. I would love to find a group on the island to join. I've played PF1 for many years as well as other systems; I also want to learn PF2 and Starfinder. If you're looking for a GM, I also have GMed for several years.

Send me a PM if you have an extra player or GM chair that you want to fill.

It is very annoying to have to do a complete login every time I come to the site to download and/or make a purchase. I should be able to check a box to remember me and only enter my password like Amazon.com instead of doing a full login each time.

I am looking for 4-6 players to join me in stopping the Cult of the Whispering Way from freeing the Lich King, aka the Whispering Tyrant, from his eternal prison in Paizo's Carrion Crown. The campaign combines classic horror and dark swords and sorcery. Contact me if you are up to the challenge. The adventure will take place twice a month, Saturday afternoons through the evening.

On the Monster Codex pages, it would be helpful to have anchor tags so we can link to a specific monster type. For example, on the vampire page at http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/monsterCodex/vampires.html# there is an Enlightened Vampire. At the moment I am unable to search for Enlightened Vampire or use a link that takes me directly to that information. Instead, when I do a search I am taken to the top of the Vampire page and I have no way to link directly to the Enlightened Vampire.

Thanks.

I have been hired to do some editing for a third party publisher and I was wondering if there is a style guide to help me out. I don't want trade secrets like colors and fonts, I just want a reference for formats things like how spell names should be done and do you write 10' or 10-feet or 10-ft. I've been doing a lot of searching through adventure paths I have to but having a reference would be a lot easier. If this should be a private discussion then please PM me. Thanks.

Another page that the list of pawns does not match the numbers on the pawns.

The list for Slayer's Guild on http://paizo.com/products/btpy9qht?Pathfinder-Pawns-Villain-Codex-Box needs to be fixed. Tne numbers are off for Butcher, Deadeye and Deadly Courtesan.

I'm looking for a website that is similar to Obsidian Portal. I don't want to pay the huge fee that OP charges. And I especially don't like the layout and look of OP since their unveiling of their Kickstarter funded revamp. It has serious, HUGE issues that they haven't addressed despite the complaints since day one (thankfully I did not support the Kickstarter)

Anyway, what OP was before the broken revamp was great. I've tried the Goggle version created by D20PFSRD. It wasn't too bad, but I haven't been able to figure out how to use images that I've already loaded instead of uploading the image each time I want to display it. It also doesn't seem to have any help or documentations to help you figure it out on your own.

I tried Epic Words Campaign but the Wiki section has no formatting to make it look nice. I want a page that shows categories and links to the subcategories. EWC wiki is a series of text boxes with an individual link to a page.

Thanks for any suggestions you have. And if you know someone who works for OP or you work for OP then pay attention to what your users have to say.

My group is playing Kingmaker and I thought I would make the hex map a form that we could type the information inside each hex instead of the pen & paper scribbled mess we currently have. I was greatly disappointed that I couldn't do this. I understand that Paizo has to protect their work, but I'm pretty sure turning a page in a pdf that is already a form into a workable form would not violate Paizo's copyrights. RPG is in the digital age which is evident with the availability of the books in pdf format. This should also include making a digital form from a form in a pdf. If we have permission to make copies of the hex map to track our progress we should also have permission to make it a pdf form that can be used digitally.

Several years ago I played in a group that used what they called The Inverse Rule for rolling cure spells. I liked it enough to add it to the game I now run. On a d8 1=8, 2=7, 3=4, 4=4, 5=5, 6=6, 7=7, 8=8 so the minimum possible cure is half.

Just remember, what's good for the party is good for the enemy. ;-)

I thought I would throw out my house rule for rolling hit points into the ring.

A character gets max hit points at first level. After first level the player keeps rolling the hit die, adding the points rolled, until the total is maxed out or goes over. If a roll results in the total going over then the previous total is the hit points used.

Example: a character's hit die is a d10. The player's first roll is a 2 so she rolls again. The second roll is a 5 that is added to the 2 for a total of 7. The third roll is a 4 making the total an 11. The third roll is over 10 so the character gets 7 hit points.

This gives the players a better chance at a decent hit point and there's less whining when they roll a 1.

I don't know if my question should go here or on Lone Wolf/Hero Lab forum so I'm going to post to both.

I have a player who created a 6th level Summoner with Rime Spell feat and chose the Icicle Dagger spell. He created two Favorite Metamagic Spells: "Icicle Dagger, Rime" and "Snowball, Rime." There is a validation alert for the "Icicle Dagger, Rime" that says, "Spell must deal Cold damage." When I delete the "Icicle Dagger, Rime" from the Favorite Metamagic Spells the alert goes away. I told my player that he needs to look at it and adjust his character. He argues that Hero Lab doesn't recognize that the Icicle Dagger spell does indeed cause "cold damage" for terms of the Rime Spell feat. I don't think the Icicle Dagger spell can be used as a Rime Spell because the Icicle Dagger spell not only deals 1 point of cold damage but it also deals normal dagger damage. I told him I would check into it. So what do all of you think? Is Hero Lab broken or am I right that Icicle Dagger spell can't be used as a Rime spell because it also does normal damage?

Thanks.

P.S. Please no discussion about GMs having final ruling. I want to be fair and check with the Paizo & Lone Wolf community.

Why does a natural lycanthrop have the special attack Curse of Lycanthropy but an afflicted lycanthrop doesn't have the special attack? I thought all lycanthrops had the ability to inflict Curse of Lycanthropy.

I'm wrapping up TotB and have started reading BM. There seems to be a lot of info a GM has to keep track of: who did what to whom, what each NPC knows, how they react to the PCs, etc. has anyone created a spreadsheet or something to keep track of everything?

I love the pawns and use them all the time. I would like to see Paizo create pawns for past Adventure Paths. Of course, I would vote to start with Carrion Crown since I'm currently running it.:-D

Thanks.
