Fortitude: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Will: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Zharifa shoots again, choosing to suppress the non-lethal quality of her bow.
First Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Second Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Third Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 (rapid shot)
First Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
First Attack, second arrow Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Second Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Crit Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Third Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Total much lower since it is all lethal damage, but if those all hit (lowest is AC 20), then the total damage is 32.
Female Aven Inactive
Zharifa leans back to shoot at the monster above her.
First Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Second Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
Third Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 (rapid shot)
First Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (2) = 5
First Attack, second arrow Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 2 + (6) = 15
Total damage=20 NL
Probably missed on the others.
Female Aven Inactive
Do you want all of us to post, or are you specifically waiting for Kierna?
Female Aven Inactive
Female Aven Inactive
Here also, but on vacation, so checking in less often till January.
Female Aven Inactive
Thanks for the answers. :)
Zharifa gets her bow ready, intending to shoot it out of the sky and clear the way for her cropmates.
Female Aven Inactive
We don't *all* have to even climb the obelisk, do we?
Female Aven Inactive
How tall is the obelisk?
How far up in the air is insect-vomiting scary thing?
What are we waiting on to begin the battle?
Female Aven Inactive
As far as I am concerned, Kierna, I am still right beside you. Ankhet said that we were all climbing, but that has to be a DM call because the only person who said they were climbing before the scary insect post (and didn't come back down) was Amenset. Having us all on the obelisk when the insects come may be what the DM meant, but not sure.

Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Will Save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Female Aven Inactive
Whoops, sorry. says Zharifa from above Kierna. She climbs back down.
She channels to heal three times, making sure to selectively exclude the wurm from her healing.
Channel: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 6, 6, 3) = 25
Channel: 5d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 5, 4) = 22
Channel: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 4, 1, 3) = 15
Is that enough, or does anyone need more healing?
Female Aven Inactive
The no flying rule is really dumb. Zharifa says out loud, but secretly, she is glad.
She starts climbing.
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Female Aven Inactive
No worries. You should be able to enjoy vacation too. :)
Female Aven Inactive
Zharifa attacks the two Viziers not caught in the fireball, the one that she has already damaged first, and switching to the next if the first falls.
First Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Second Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
Third Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 (rapid shot)
Attack Four: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14 (haste)
First Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 2d4 ⇒ (6) + 2 + (6) + (3, 1) = 18 [14 NL / 4 Fire]
First Attack, second arrow Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 2d4 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (1) + (2, 3) = 11 (manyshot) [6 NL / 5 Fire]
Second Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 2d4 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (3) + (4, 2) = 13 [7 NL / 6 Fire]
Third Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 2d4 ⇒ (8) + 2 + (6) + (1, 1) = 18 [16 NL / 2 Fire]
Fourth attack Damage (if it hits?): 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 2d4 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (1) + (2, 4) = 11 [5 NL / 6 Fire]
Totals: Attacks 1-3--43 nonlethal, 17 fire
If Attack 4 hit, total of all is 48 nonlethal, 23 fire
Female Aven Inactive
I think the viziers are above us, out of range of melee. Am I mistaken?
Female Aven Inactive
Okay, wow. Most of my games are low level. I'm not used to all of this firepower. Thanks for the reminder.
Attack Four: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27 (haste)
Fourth attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 4 + 2d4 ⇒ (5) + 2 + (4) + 4 + (3, 3) = 21
Total Damage to Vizier #1 from first, second, and fourth attacks: 63 nonlethal, 27 fire (90 total)
If Third Attack hit, then 79 nonlethal, 32 fire (111 total)
Female Aven Inactive
Zharifa is wounded, but continues to attack the same vizier, hoping she can deal with one threat while her cropmates deal with the sandwurm.
First Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 10 + 4 = 26
Second Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 10 + 4 = 28
Third Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 4 = 16 (rapid shot)
First Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 4 + 2d4 ⇒ (8) + 2 + (2) + 4 + (4, 4) = 24
First Attack, second arrow Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 4 + 2d4 ⇒ (8) + 2 + (5) + 4 + (3, 3) = 25 (manyshot)
Second Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 4 + 2d4 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (4) + 4 + (3, 4) = 20
Third Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 + 4 + 2d4 ⇒ (7) + 2 + (3) + 4 + (2, 3) = 21
Total Damage to Vizier #1 from first and second attacks: 48 nonlethal, 21 fire (68 total)
If Third Attack hit, then 64 nonlethal, 26 fire (89 total)
Thank you, Amenset.
Female Aven Inactive
Since Ankhet's initiative is before mine, that would make my attacks 20 and 21 (higher if my fellow viziers are within 30 feet) and it would add the following to my attacks:
extra fire damage first attack: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6
extra fire damage first attack: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
Summary: 1st attack 20, 12 non lethal, 6 fire (total 18 damage), 2nd attack 21, 12 non lethal, 6 fire (total 18 damage)
Female Aven Inactive
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Zharifa draws her bow as she positions herself in the center of her companions so that when she channels she can affect everyone. She then shoots one of the Viziers that are threatening them with her bow (but if her ex-lover is one of those shooting, that is specifically *not* her target).
First Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Second Attack Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
First Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 2 + (3) = 12
Second Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 2 + (3) = 12
(all damage from her bow is nonlethal)
Female Aven Inactive
Zharifa walks towards the obelisk with the others.
Female Aven Inactive
Good ideas, Kierna. I think you are onto something there.
Female Aven Inactive
Zharifa thinks that she knows the answer to the riddle, but wants to make sure the whole party is together before they try. If they get it wrong, they might need to fight, and if they get it right, they might need to pass through together, so she waits for everyone else to cross the bridge.
Female Aven Inactive
Zharifa wonders why everyone is so worried about her bridge, and crosses it to show that it is safe.
Female Aven Inactive
Zharifa casts Wall of Stone in the shape of a bridge so that all may cross the pit without descending into it.

Oketra still watches Zharifa says, drawing her group's attention to the angel flying above them. She hopes that the knowledge will inspire them to greater efforts in following the ideals of her god. She also realizes that she, also, needs to show more humility. We stand or fall together.

Zharifa moves between Kierna and Arona, addressing the latter.
Have some compassion. We are all still striving for perfection. None of us are there yet. We would do well to work together and encourage each other rather than tearing each other down. This, after all, is a test of our unity, not of how well we can berate one another.

Survival checks sound fine... the blade barrier is down now?

Amenset wrote: Also, I'm not sure how good an idea is to use non-lethal damage vs undead... It's not a good strategy, it's the bow, and the character who uses it. She is a vizier of Oketra with a strong aversion to leaving anyone or anything to the wandering curse, and right now the anointed are cared for and protected from it. "Killing" them and risking it again isn't something that she relishes, or sees as important or necessary, and she's personally pissed off at whoever is using them for this trial. NL becomes lethal after it exceeds total HP anyway... just takes a little longer.
If you have a better plan than attacking the Anointed, or a way past the blade barrier, then suggest it. I imagine my character would go along with it. I was just trying to buy us time. We could walk through it, but that's a lot of damage to take (depending on how high level the caster level is)... but then I could heal everyone after instead of using my channeling to harm undead.
Female Aven Inactive
Not approaching them, but shooting as they approach, and sorry, I thought you just wanted a general idea before we got into it. Here are specific attacks:
Note: All damage from my bow is Nonlethal
Round One:
Draw Bow (move action)
First Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Not sure if a 14 hits anything, but if it does:
First Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 2 + (5) = 13
Second Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Second Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (2) = 7
Round Two:
(with Rapid Shot and Manyshot)
First Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
First Attack, First Arrow Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 2 + (5) = 13
First Attack, Second Arrow Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (5) = 10
Second Attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Second Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 2 + (4) = 12
Third Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Third Attack Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 2 + (3) = 8
Female Aven Inactive
Zharifa shrugs, wishing things were otherwise, but accepting that she is on her own with the plan, and knowing that running to the middle of the anointed would be suicide alone, she gets out her bow. Her revised plan is to shoot them until they get here and then channel when enough of them get close.
Female Aven Inactive
That's cool if that is what you want to do, but I thought part of this particular trial was about how we work together.
Female Aven Inactive
Shall half of us go out to meet them and allow ourselves to be surrounded, and then have the rest of you drive them inward, so that the channelling can get the maximum amount of effectiveness?
Female Aven Inactive
Initiative: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
The anointed are locked in here with us. We will be forced to face them in battle, apparently.
I dislike it, for I do not want to sever anyone from their eternal life, but ... we must destroy them.
The other choice is to proceed through the barrier, which will be quite harmful. I don't know. Perhaps we will need to do both, but better to face the enemy first so we do not get caught between them, perhaps? What say you, my brothers and sisters?
How many zombies, and how close are they (all of them)?
I can channel to harm them, but to use it most effectively, they all must be within 30 feet of me. If we can manage that, I think that it should be quite effective, which will give us breathing room to face the barrier.

Reporting in. Looking forward to the game. :)
(also ninja posted (post-and-delete) in gameplay to get the game on my campaign list)
Done with character and still interested.
Okay, I think Zharifa is finally done. :)
I think I have everything in there that was asked for, but please let me know if I missed anything. Happy to tweak, clarify, or correct. :)

<--This is my alias for my Aven Priestess of Oketra, but totally not done. Just pieces, and other parts copied over from another character. I'll post again when it is ready.
