DM Bigrin:
That's what I thought, I just wanted to make sure before I said anything. After scanning the waters, Zerazin points out near the edge of the harbor. "There are the purple sails. Too far off for us to approach without a boat, but we might be able to ask around and see if they have a shore party somewhere. Or find their skiff, if it's tied up at the docks."

"I haven't spent much time around the docks either -- it's so much nicer than the part of Magnimar I grew up." "So I don't know where this in might be, though it probably shouldn't be too hard to find. Once you're in the right area, if you look like a buyer, the sellers can often find you." "If all else fails, if we can find the ship, we could probably ask there after their business manager and be directed there." As we're walking, perception check to notice either, groups of Nidalese or kayal, or ships with Purple sails. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

"Are you sure, Pakak? That's what I told her we needed the money for. I'd hate to disappoint her." Then Zerazin grinned back at the half-orc. "Of course, I wouldn't expect her to keep them. I mean, slavery's illegal. But wouldn't you love to see her face when we brought them in?"

Zerazin nods earnestly. "With luck the slavers have her, and we'll be able to purchase her without fuss. We ought to get a good price, too, given that we'd be saving them transportation costs back to Nidal. Hopefully we'd have enough left to buy another servant for the Venture Captain." "Of course, my negotiating skills aren't particularly good, so someone else might want to do the talking, though I can do it if no one else wants to. I've watched my parents haggle with Nidalese."

Growing up in the Underbridge, Zerazin knew quite a few Sczarni, and had gotten along with them as well as an outsider could. But she had never paid much attention to how they operated and exactly how they were organized -- her parents were the ones who had dealt with those details. "The Tower Girls, you say. I'd always wondered, exactly which tower is that?"

Zerazin considers opening the chest of gold in her backpack, but doesn't want Zograthy to know how much money they have. Instead she opens her belt pouch. The gold coins glitter against her dull fingers as she spreads them on the table. "Here's a dozen and two brothers. A veritable housefull. So now there are no more secrets, yes?"
Female Human (w/Fetchling ancestry)
"Those are all good questions -- I have no others. And I agree with the suggestions of how to proceed. No splitting up, and start with the Amazing One and then the Watch. And the slavers if neither of those pan out." "Now a question about our spoils. Use or sell? I have no use for any of the items, but if someone else feels they do, they should use them. Otherwise they should be sold when we hit the market."

"Slaver's aren't my favorite people, but I have no problem dealing with them. Do you have an expense account, Captain Heidmarch? We could purchase you a new servant while we're there, since it seems you'll be needing one." Zerazin smiles broadly, exposing her dull grey teeth. But due to the lamps of her eyes, the expression looks more creepy than friendly. She pokes with her worn staff at some of the costuming Adyn has produced. "This is all so...flamboyant. Color is weakness. Distraction. You do understand that don't you?" She scrutinizes Adyn as the 'gypsy' continues scrutinizing disguises. Actually, I suspect you understand that better than most. "Or I could come to Zograthy's with you. I've never...acted...but I can keep my mouth shut with the best of them." She grins again. "Well, sometimes, anyway."

"I told you LUCRE was too filthy to use," Zerazin sighs. Then she maneuvers so that she can use Color Spray to best effect. The most important thing is that it effects both of the creatures. She'd like to avoid hitting any of the other people, but as long as she gets both creatures, she isn't overly concerned with that. If it isn't possible to catch both creatures in the same Color Spray, she will instead hit the one closest to her with her staff. Staff attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

"That is interesting. As I think about it, the Thassilonian's believed there was an opposite to evocation -- either conjuration or abjuration. Even more interesting, the box's aura is that of conjuration." Zerazin twirls her staff absently as she ponders. "Unfortunately, I don't have spells of either of those schools memorized today. Might any of you have done so?"
Female Human (w/Fetchling ancestry)
"The only anagram I see in Common is 'Lucre' -- and that's too filthy to be the answer. What about names -- are there five letter names listed in the notes? Someone who owned the box, perhaps, or the place it came from?" Zazerin gently leans over to pick up the puzzle box. "May I?" she asks. Then she picks it up and casts Detect Magic, spending some time to identify the aura or properties. Spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 "Hmmm. Do any of those five runes have a correspondence to any of the schools of magic?"

A woman with hair of coal and skin of ash enters the drawing room. She wears black studded leather armor and travel-stained clothes. Her gear is worn but serviceable, and all in subdued tones of black or brown. In fact, the only real color anywhere on her person is a single lock of her long bangs which has been dyed bright pink, and one nail on each hand which has been painted yellow to match her eyes -- eyes which seem to be entirely without pupils. "I thought I'd be early," she observes, "but I guess I was mistaken." She finds a seat in the drawing room away from the others and places her backpack to one side of it. But even upon sitting she never lets go of her battle-scarred staff of willow wood.

As a spontaneous caster, you can cast any of the 0-level spells you know as many times a day as you want. With a prepared caster, you have to pick the 0-level spells you want to cast ahead of time, but you don't lose them when you cast them, so you get to cast them as many times a day as you want, too. |
