Zeek feeds Bacon a piece of cheese. [b]Hey there, big fella/b], he whispers while petting the pig. In a flash, Clepto pokes her head out to steal the remaining bit of cheese and returns to her hiding place. Zeek laughs softly.

Zeek lunges forward trying to shelter the stirge with one hand and yanking a writhing Clepto back with the other.

Nooo! D-d-don't hurt it. It's j-just doing what it was b-b-b-born to do., Zeek manages to spit out.

He then tries to pacify the little creature with a few soothing strokes to its belly.

I-I'd like to be on our way as well, but first I'll sell some of these items and then we can move on. A-a-although, if its okay with everyone, it might be nice to spend a night in a proper bed instead of in the w-w-wilderness... Zeek looks nervously at Veter.

Unless someone stops him, Zeek sells the jewelry and weapons from the bag (aside from the earrings claimed by Dimitrio). He also tries to get the remainder of the journal translated (asking around as necessary).

Exasperated by their words, Zeek gives his companions a long, sad look. And then gives his feet a long sad look. Clepto stirs uncomfortably.

Zeek will inspect the sources of magic in the wagons.

As for night watch, he volunteers for the first shift (hoping for a little fire light to read by) while Clepto roams around the outskirts of camp.

And, as for Emyralda's proposal to provide a ride, Zeek tries to contain his eagerness to accept. His decidedly-shorter stride has become wearisome, if not borderline excruciating.

At some point after reading the journal, Zeek (under the guise of practicing a spell) casts Detect Magic on the items from the bag, the Varisian woman, the ogre corpses, and the scene of the fight with the ogres.

Zeek later shares his findings with the group (see Zeek's spoiler).

This might be worth looking into after we get back from Ravenmoor...

Zeek stays quiet, assisting with burying the dead and hiding the ogre's corpses as much as he can (thinking it's a shame he does not know how to animate corpses yet).

While setting up camp, he shares what he found in the ogre's bag and mentions his theory about the ogres (see Zeek's spoiler above). Once the fire is lit, he reads through the journal he found in there.

With uncanny precision and speed, Zeek cuts the ogres' throats with small, but incredibly-bloody, incisions.

Zeek gapes at Veter...Oh d-d-dear...

Zeek moves forward at an angle to the engagement and after a quick incantation, shoots a fan of dazzling colors at the ogre.

Zeek moves into position to cast Color Spray at max range (15ft) without hitting anyone in the party, hopefully.

Should we wait for Liliana? If not...

If I have time, Zeek casts Invisibility followed by Silent Image to conjure a fat, delicious-looking gnome and walks about 5 feet behind his image (i.e. he and his image are in a single file line with the image in front) toward the ogres and asks the ogres "Excuse m-me, but d-d-do you gentlemen know where I could get a bite to eat around here?" If no time for two spells, I will just hit the ogre who just ate the baby's toe with a Blindness spell.

Zeek shivers and heads the direction of the sound, while trying to move quietly and using the terrain for cover.

Applying stealth as soon as it's conceivable that I could be seen by the source of the sound. Will stop as soon as I can see anything threatening.

Hey guys, I'm going to respectfully bow out of this adventure. When I signed up, I was thinking the campaign would be more active. In addition, according to our DM's posting history, it appears he has a history of abandoning games. Between that and the 5-day delay in his posting, I'm afraid of wasting my precious gaming time (I have a toddler at home, so not a lot of leisure time any more).

I'm not sure I understand the deal with the horses. I'm assuming the plan is to buy them and sell them back at a price which does not prevent this mission from being profitable, which is a must to motivate Zeek to leave his life of bookworming.

Nodding to himself and thinking I guess that's them alright, Zeek drains the last of his cheap wine, hops off his bar stool, and sidles over to the group.

"Um, g-greetings. I'm Zeek." He suppresses a frown as he finds himself looking up at Dimitrio's hairy chest crowned with a gold medallion. Instead, he cranks out a smile and mutters "please to meet you." He reminds himself of the social conventions of eye contact and shaking hands and does his best to execute both with everyone at the table, although his eye contact is fleeting with the ladies.

Zeek then finds a seat at the table. He avoids small talk and finds himself nodding his head in agreement as the dagger-flipping human inquires about compensation.

To relax himself, he gently strokes Clepto snuggled in her customized secret pocket in the interior of his robe, but suddenly stops as he realizes how it might look, glancing around nervously to see if anyone noticed...
