BACKGROUND

Zaskaru isn’t the elf’s birth name. He changed it in prison after becoming an adherent of solarian philosophy.

He was born during the Gap. His first memory is mid-fight, surrounded by four other elves as they kicked and pummeled him. At first like many others “awakening” from the Gap he was confused and uncertain about what had happened to him as well as everyone else.

Fueled by anger and fear that another Gap might occur, he spent centuries focused on gathering wealth and power through confidence schemes, illicit drug dealing, weapon smuggling, starting a cult, and a dozen other harmful and illicit means. He tried living on Castrovel, Abaslom Station, and even a colony in Near Space. It was hard for him to establish roots for fear of another Gap. So, he wandered the Pact worlds for years, essentially a minor criminal who would move on before getting busted by law enforcement or criminals not wanting competition. Eventually though, like so often before, he was in the Diaspora when he stole a starship. After being caught, he was sentenced to ten years at an asteroid-mining prison.

Seven years passed of hard work and prison fights. After a time, he befriended another prisoner, a kasatha named Jodri Naessal Mol Cas Dyecme of Clan Matwas. Eventually, he fell under the influence of Jodri, recognizing that the kasatha had a better way of dealing with life in prison than he did, so he started to emulate him. When Jodri left prison, he invited Zaskaru to visit him on the Idari when the elf finished his sentence.

Thus after serving his sentence, he went to the Idari to study solarian disciplines. After five years, he achieved the ability of his solar manifestation. Now he has joined the Starfinders Society hoping to overwrite the centuries of his negative and damaging behavior with positive and beneficial acts.
