Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Zaroff marches out towards the nearest creature before taking up a duelist stance with his left hand behind his back, and fires a shot at the nearest target.
I can't tell how close I am to the creatures, but I fire when I get within 20 feet of the nearest one. Might take a round or two to do so but I'll roll for it.

To hit:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Damage:1d8 ⇒ 1

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Zaroff takes out his pistol and proceeds to load it without a word.

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Zaroff has nothing to say.

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Hefting the coffin with one hand and drawing his pistol with the other, Zaroff shouts.
"One more step and you will be joining the Professor in the ground!"
Bluff check:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 Epic Fail =(
Unfortunately Zaroff didnt load his pistol before this.

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

I've still been trying to catch a hold of Trevor, but I'm here. I was going to do something, but i wanted to see what Rava was doing first.

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Watching the events unfold through his never altering facial expression, Zaroff starts to feel anger building up inside. The muscles in his free hand flex and unflex, as if preparing for a fight. Thinking to himself he counts how many people look like they would actually put up a fight

Fraust:
Perception1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Yeah I like the idea of a deadlands campaign, because I'm a big fan of those apocalypse films. I can see if I can't get a hold of Trevor and see what he's up to.

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

That was a real trip.

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Ok well I've got a dig in Southern Colorado with Dudley Gardner the next two weeks, followed by a weeklong wreck diving trip to North Carolina. So I'm not going to be able to continue for a while. I might be able to have a day or so to post stuff after the dig. I don't know how you want to deal with my character, but I hope to continue when I get back. Cya everybody!

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

The bottle shattering with a load crack, and the resulting cloud of smoke brought about by his pistol nearly brings a smile to his stony face. Removing a hankerchief from a pocket of his tight fitting vest Zaroff proceeds to polish his pistol back to a gleaming finish before replacing it to its holster. After which he walks from the yard to the stable where he maintains his well bred black heavy warhorse and checks his saddlebags to make sure no one has taken anything from them. Looking down on the other miserable looking animals in the stable with a look of utter disgust he wonders how the others can stand living in such squallor. He does this for a few minutes before returning to the house and seats himself at the breakfast table, adjusting his sabre as he sits down. Seeing Lodwinn wearing a ridiculous outfit while performing minor household tasks makes Zaroff silently laugh inside. After finishing his breakfast he leans back in his chair and says to Kendra,

"I thank you for breakfast, but I understand that you never did answer Kjartan's question last night when he asked when the Professor actually died. I understand that it is hard to talk about him, but I am curious about the circumstances surrounding his death."

Frausty:

Diplomacy(untrained)1d20 - 1 ⇒ (17) - 1 = 16

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Zaroff wakes to the rising sun, but remains lying down for a lot longer staring at the ceiling. Finally he rises when he decides his dreams must have been brought on by a bad bottle of dust covered brandy. After getting dressed and spending a good time grooming himself he makes his way towards the bedroom door. Before departing downstairs he catches a glimpse of the old brandy bottle he had drank the night before. Annoyed that his host would keep something that was clearly an inferior product he clenches the bottle in his massive fist, and with his other he opens the door. He then marches down the stairs and out the front door and off to the side of the house without a word. Then he places the bottle on the nearest fencepost/stump he sees and proceeds to step back 15 paces while drawing his dueling pistol. While facing away from his target he loads his weapon and with a flourish he turns back and fires at the bottle.

Ranged Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22 I would imagine that hits.
Damage1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 Do I add DEX, or is that just for aiming?

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Replying to Kendra, Zaroff says. "I again thank you for your hospitality." Before making his way to the pantry in search of something similar to what Kendra was drinking (or stronger).

Frausty:
I would think that finding a bottle of liquor in a pantry wouldn't be hard enough to warrant a perception roll, but here's one anyways.

Perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Zaroff has his breastplate, his shaving kit, his pistol(unloaded for now), and his sabre nearby where ever he sleeps (and hopefully a bottle of something).

Upon returning Zaroff finds a room to sleep in (avoiding the Inquisitrix if at all possible). After which he drinks himself to a near excessive state before going to sleep.

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Ok well lets see what I get.

1d6 ⇒ 1 Cool I think thats Hammers.

1d9 ⇒ 4 I think this is Lawful Neutral.

1d4 ⇒ 4 Fate Points.

So I got Lawful Neutral, Hammers(Strength), and 4 fate points right?

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Placing his hands behind his back and facing Kendra, Zaroff replies.
"I will do my part to relieve your sorrow by serving as a pallbearer for your father."

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Turning slightly towards Falconer, Zaroff responds. "I believe the Professor was examining some artifacts my employer had recently procured."

Kjartans Roll Response:

Knowledge(Geography): I believe you can point out the capital of Ustalav and a few major cities such as Lepistadt.

Knowledge(Nobility): Although it is hard to tell anything of Zaroff's lineage from what little you know of him, you believe his last name is probably just a second name instead of a house name. Although it is a common second name for one of a few noble houses. The most likely, judging by Zaroff's actions concerning his reputation is probably the lesser known noble house known as the Von Strab family. The Von Strab house is a very secretive family, that for the most part is feared by others. The amount of influence the family has far outweighs the assets it posesses. The fact that the Von Strab family has fallen from grace in recent times gives Zaroff a motive to defend it's reputation.

Sense Motive: From what you can tell he is very serious that the next time he may not be so forgiving to angering insults. You could have easily imagined him throwing the fire iron into the inquisitrix, if given any more grief. Although for the time being he seems to be satisfied that he has made a point to the rooms occupants, and with the responses he has recieved.

Falconer wrote:
And if I may make a request: Do. Not. Throw. My. Work. Into. The. Fire.

"I have authority over no image but of my own, and besides I would not be the one to destroy a portrait of the person whose memorial we are attending."

After taking a closer look at the sketch Zaroff comes to a realization. Talking to no one in general Zaroff says. "How time flies.... I met this man close to ten years ago while serving as a watchman for a Noble outside of Caliphas. The professor was performing services on the property when one of the nobles attack dogs slipped his leash and attacked him. It would have surely ripped his throat out if I had not intervened and saved his life."

Hey hero points sound exactly like fate points in dark heresy. I am alright them if you are thinking of adding them, and I don't mind what way you decide to pass out experience.

Also where is Casey's store at, I keep hearing stuff about it but I have no clue where it is.

Questions about Stuff(read this Fraust):

If you aren't already aware I have had Kjartan doing some rolls on knowledge nobility and other stuff and I am wondering what I should answer. I havent hammered out any details in my characters backstory. So far I have been thinking that my character could be the bastard child of some nobles and was cast out and is in the process of forging a name for himself working for other nobles in an attempt to redeem himself (this is why I am making the inquisitors insults personal to him), but I am not sure if there is a noble family you want to tie me in to or if I should wing it. And I also have no idea of the geography and am wondering if there is any specific place I could come from without making up something abstract.

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

The first manifestation of any emotion finally emerges from the stonelike vesige that is Zaroff's face. The clearly visible muscles of his face slightly raised the right side of his lip for the briefest of moments in something that might have been considered a grin. Before he once again speaks in the direction of the Inquisitrix in his accented growl."Your persistence is admirable, but wasted. My worth is proven in blood, not only in my own noble blood, but in the blood I have spilt in the name of the Lords and Lady's I have served. I will make no comment on the worth of your own diluted blood...."

Zaroff is abruptly interrupted by the passing out of portraits, of which he pauses to admire his own portrait before casually tossing it into the fire behind him. After which he turns his attention to Falconer and says. "That was an honest attempt to capture my image, of which I commend you. I must now ask you if you could attempt a sketch of the late Professor Lorrimer, for I am not sure how I am acquainted to him."

Pulling his pocketwatch out from his breast pocket and glancing down at the clocks face he responds to Lodwinn's Jest, before returning the intricate device to his pocket. "Time waits for no man Lodwinn. We must make the most of the time given to us."

Kjartan's roll response (read this Fraust):

I am not sure what a knowledge(geography) and a sense motive roll would imply, and I am pretty sure that the good knowledge(nobility) roll finds out what kind of nobility and background Zaroff has. But I dont want to step on Fraust's toes so I am going to wait and see what he thinks I should give up.

Lodwinn wrote:
Addressing Zaroff "Zaroff I don't think she was referring to you, skulduggery implies some amount of subtlety which does not seem to be in your nature"

With his gaze remaining locked on the Inquisitrix's eyes, Zaroff responds to Lodwinn's comment in his trademark growling drawl. "I am quite aware of the definition of 'Skulduggery' Lodwinn."

Zaroff allows his cold stare to sink in a while longer before slowly turning on his heels to face the hearth. With his left hand still locked behind his back, Zaroff grasps the handle of the fire iron with his right and slowly raises the smoking piece of metal up towards his face so it is clearly visible to those behind him. Gazing at the hot iron, Zaroff says "Any remarks that could gall my reputation shall not be tolerated. Since this is our first meeting I am willing to let this misunderstanding slip by. In the future I will not be so forgiving."

Replacing the fire iron to the hearthside Zaroff again returns his gaze to the rest of the guests before saying. "I agree with Falconer that all these theories mean little. I am sure that our host will fill in all the details we need to know as soon as she returns."

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

I am not familiar with hero points, could I get a simple explanation. Also this is my first time doing a play by post, and I hope I am RPing satisfactory. I am trying to RP Zaroff as an arrogant and overconfident nobleman and so far I believe I am getting it right. I am open to any suggestions though. =)

Male Human 3 Gunslinger
Inquisitrix Rava wrote:

Her gaze lands on Zaroff, her gaze remains narrow.

"or by skulduggery..."

Stiffening slightly upon the Inquisitrix's words while stoking the flames of the hearth Zaroff leaves the metal fire iron to rest near the center of the coals before standing and facing the Inquisitrix. Straightening up and returning his hands behind his back, Zaroff says in a deep growl while looking the halfbreed in the eyes with his own 'grey, emotionless' eyes.

"I hope by skulduggery you are refering to the services that you offer, seeing as that no one else in this room match that discription save for you."

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Eyeing the halfbreed with disgust, Zaroff rises up to his full stature and places his hands behind his back before addressing everyone before him in a very formal manner. "My name is Zaroff Muldoon, and although my business is none but my own I am willing to tell you that it has to do with the man in that sketch on the wall. That man has wronged me in the past and your late Uncle must have had some information on him; information that could possibly lead me to him. I give the family of the deceased my greatest of condolences, but I must find out what the professor knew of this man. This waiting is starting to wear down on my infinite supply of patience."

After concluding his statement he paces towards the fireplace where he proceeds to stoke the fire.

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Clearly taken aback that his presence hasn't drawn the least bit of attention, Zaroff begins to become irritated. As he listens in on these simple exchanges taking place, his brows furrow as the other guests in the house begin to draw on his patience. A brief chuckle almost escaped his lips as the thought of jamming his pistol in the face of the nearest unsuspecting guest and pulling the trigger passed briefly through his consciousness.

A few minutes later Zaroff clears his throat before asking the crowd before him in a deep nobleman's drawl, "When is our gracious host expected to return, I have important business to attend to." (with great emphasis put on 'Important business')

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

After stabling his horse Zaroff trudges his way miserably up to the home. Looking up at the household he wrinkles his nose at how modest an abode he has brought himself to. Unloaded pistol and sabre by his sides.

Upon stepping over the threshold and out of the rain Zaroff takes a quick look around the room to see any kind of reminder such as a portrait of the late professor, for he has no clue who he was or why he is included in his will, for he knows faces better than names. Next he says in a dry grumble, "Thanks for your kind hospitality." before finding a spot furthest from whoever is there in the kitchen and proceeding to help himself.
I hope I did this right

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Unfortunately I haven't been receiving any of your emails with the advice, but I have been told by Trevor that the knowledge skill is a good thing in this campaign and have redone my skills accordingly. I don't understand why my email doesnt work with you, but I have been recieving your messages on facebook.

Male Human 3 Gunslinger

Ok I think I have my character built up for the most part, all i have to do now is spend my money, put up my weapons and update my AC and stuff after I buy them.
