Yuki stands straight and looks at each vernai as she presents her case.
”The social contract we follow is one where we trust the contract we are given to be true. But more importantly, we succeeded in the mission, and succeeded in defending our very lives from those who were lied to about us. And, they did not seem interested in taking us in. More importantly, He Who Walks in Blood guided our hands or we would not have been successful.”
”But I wander and stray into theology. Would a rightful ruler have been betrayed by his allies at the point he needed them most. Some of them were powerful and could easily have turned the tide in his favor! The tribes that came to beat their drums in war as he fell did not see him as their ruler.”

Yuki's Society (M): 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (12) + 26 = 38
Yuki's Society (M): 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (2) + 26 = 28
Yuki thinks for a moment about this Golrain individual.
She obviously doesn’t really remember him haha
”Well I for one wouldn’t mind getting there without a fight. We do have information of note to share. And our Mistress will appreciate your support. Tell me, what have you heard?”
The night before they teleport in to the Cathedral Yuki takes some time to reach out into the dream world and attempts to give Saviya some really bad dreams.
"Let me see if i can nudge things in our favor."

Yuki casts Nightmare. DC 37
Intimidation: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
Yuki smiles, ”yes, please start talking. The more information you can give, the better your odds of surviving this become. And if they decide you should die I have yet to be convinced to stop them.”
Yuki considers for a moment and adds, ”I will be healing my friend now.”
Cast 2 action heal on Crystal
4d8 + 36 ⇒ (8, 3, 8, 2) + 36 = 57
Yuki catches a glimpse of Shirota hiding away on the far side of the tea house. ”Now now, I can’t let your brother have all the fun.”

Zaiho Damage (Fire): 8d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 6, 4, 6, 1, 5, 1, 3) + 4 = 34
Yuki then strides away from Kimmich so they are not adjacent.
”Maybe y’all should slow down a little bit and think of the opportunity you are squandering here?”
Yuki casts slow (DC 36) on the brothers, shield on herself, and then remembers her caster training and moves against a wall.
”Oh how rude! What kind of merchants are you? I came here offering some fine tea and you are trying to set me on fire. There’s an Avistani saying something something wrong horse?”
Reflex: 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (13) + 26 = 39
Yuki casts haste on all of us good guys and shield!
She saves taking 38 damage.
Yuki politely explains the situation, leaving out of course their direct involvement. Wishing to know if they know who might be up to such things. And just as with the leshy try to win them to the side of the blood mistress. After all, she has been good for the island and this deceitful conspirator who has such disdain for the traditions cannot be trusted to respect the many conventions in place that benefit merchants such as themselves.
”You see my dear brothers we are living in interesting times wouldn’t you say?”
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (4) + 22 = 26
Use hero point to re roll…
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
+2 if I can use deception instead.
”But if you must have a name call me Amara for now”
Yuki blushes, covering her mouth as she giggles. ”I am but a concerned citizen of the island of course. I was told that you are in the know of a great many comings and goings and I was hoping you could clarify some tea I have come across. It is a good blend but perhaps sourced in conflict.”
Deception: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (10) + 24 = 34
Yuki will of course continue to speak in code until it is appropriate to stop, Betsy however is not good so will stop LOL
Yuki enters the tea house and finds a table suitable for her and Crystal. One where they can watch the room and their companions can keep tabs on them. Playing the part of patrons who perhaps warrant the proprietors stopping by to say hello.
If it’s a waitress type place she will address the waitress. And, if it is an order at the bar kind of place this will be addressed to the bartender.
”Good day my dear. This is quite a lovely place. I’d like the house tea for me and my friend here, I hear it is quite good and you don want to spill a drop. But perhaps the brothers would be interested in the spilling of someone else’s tea?”
”Yeah, maybe two by two? Two enter through the front and two more discreetly to have their backs?”
Yuki finds somewhere out of the way to sit down and casts scouting eye to recon the tea house.
Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (19) + 22 = 41
Stealth: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (16) + 23 = 39
After politely taking her leave from the Mantis Speaker Yuki joins her companions. ”I could go for a spot of tea myself. Shall we give the place a look and then invite ourselves in for a cup? Perhaps we can ask around first but I think people are starting to suspect we are here…”
Yuki would only ask if the Twins are the ones who asked her to keep an eye out for us. And then would thank her for giving us a chance to prove our loyalty.
Yuki helps Crystal with the presentation of evidence they have found so far. ”Unfortunately, it seems this conspiracy goes quite deep. They have managed to corrupt even the system that assigns us our missions. And now have those who lust after power twisting under them serving their corrupt plans. We may be assassins that work in the shadows, but this is too far. How many other good assassins have been sent to their demise? We must uncover the truth to protect all of us.”
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (2) + 22 = 24
just a normal fail at least
Flashback to Yuki being watched by someone….
Yuki attempts to notice who may be watching and ditch her tail.
Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (14) + 22 = 36
Stealth: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (19) + 23 = 42
Upon returning to the inn she lets her companions know about her being watched.
Flash forward to the present
Yuki nods respectfully to the Leshy.
”She speaks true, it is in fact our loyalty to the Blood Mistress that we find ourselves sticking to the shadows within shadows. But we are faithful servants of the Mantis. And, if we must play this part a bit longer to uncover the true villain than we will. I for one will not rest until they are found.”
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 22 + 2 = 31
The following morning after they have recovered from their battle, yuki heads out to see if anyone can share who this mantis speaker may be. She works with Dianora to gather some information around town.
Diplomacy (trained): 1d20 + 22 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 22 + 2 = 31
great Yuki thinks to herself, I hate the jungle, always takes me days to get my fur clean again. I’m definitely more of an indoor fox.
Once they have retreated safely to the inn, Yuki begins thinking about what they have uncovered.
”I guess we need to figure out who this Mantis Speaker is and then maybe go ask them a few questions? The dock master’s ledger and the invisible notes in the priestess’s book are a start, but we will need more hard evidence to bring to the Venari.”
Evidence pts 2!
Yuki searches her memories for who this Mantis Speaker could be.
Assassin Lore (trained): 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 24
It is on the tip of her tongue but just out of reach.
Yuki continues to avoid being hit by the shuriken!
Yuki regenerates 7

Yuki will take half the damage grey takes as temp HP
Picks up kimmich’s sword
Strides away to make them work for it if they are still standing!
Yuki looks to the assassins on the minaret. ”Don’t go anywhere I will be with you in a moment, I do apologize for the delay.”
Yuki casts a 2 Action heal on Crystal
Heal : 5d8 + 40 ⇒ (2, 2, 8, 4, 7) + 40 = 63
Yuki brings up crimson shroud on herself AC37
Is blowing a taunting kiss to orange and grey a free action?
Fort Save vs Maeri: 1d20 + 25 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 25 + 1 = 30
Yuki takes full damage but regents 15 now (-76)
Yuki considers her options. And, realizes that getting Kimmich up there will end this sooner.
"Our god likes us more it seems... I guess we should stop playing with our prey."
Cast shield
Stride
Cast fly on Kimmich
End Turn
Yuki’s ac is a typo… it should be 37
Dessicate is a basic fort save!
Fortitude vs Blisterwort (30): 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (16) + 25 = 41
Fortitude vs Spell (36): 1d20 + 25 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 25 + 1 = 41
Casts shield AC to 32
Yuki's eyes narrow as she considers the priestess. "Two can play at that game. Tell me, did you all remember to hydrate today?"
Casts dessicate this targets all the "bad guys"
Dessicate DC 36: 10d10 ⇒ (6, 2, 10, 5, 5, 7, 2, 6, 9, 10) = 62

Strides to base of tower under Crystal
Yuki shrugs off the Blisterwort and takes half on the spell
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (11) + 25 = 36
Yuki looks to the assassins above, "Hiding up there like cowards will only delay your timely demise. You should be careful in declaring He Who Walks in Blood's wishes lest you misspeak."
She then looks to her companions, "let's get up there a little more quickly shall we?"
Yuki casts Haste and [Shield]
Yuki takes half damage (-25)
2 people marked this as a favorite.

Deception: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (10) + 24 = 34
”If work is play and play is work then I guess playing at this game is just a perk of our line of work. Are we the wicked that this way come? Or, are we here to see crimes undone… Look quick companions this maid is unwell we must get get her inside before she begins to swell.”
Yuki definitely is ready to get while the getting is good.
While worrying about this mysterious new plague, and not wanting to hang around for too long… Yuki takes a chance and snatches the book from shelf (and deposits it in her sleeves of holding, while the conversation turns to the shadow she sees moving past the window.
Create a distraction
”The lurgy really does just hang around and overstay its welcome… Oh dear what was that outside?
Deception: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (16) + 24 = 40
Meanwhile back at the humble abode... (posted so I don't forget)
Yuki, sighs in releif that it is nothing serious. "Oh dear, well you are super thoughtful to be here looking after them. What happened? I must say, it's been a while since I have met a healer willing to make house calls."
Yuki looks for an opportunity to nab the book and drop it into her magical sleeves.
Deception: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (19) + 24 = 43
”Oh dear sister these people don’t want to hear about goats or goiters, even if you are the goat of healing.” Yuki says looking apologetically at the poor confused woman, whilst edging closer to the book shelf. ”But she really is the best, got me through something dreadful let me tell you.”
”I guess we could go in and offer your services, and while you have them distracted I could nab the book? We’d want to use the scarves to look like someone else’s probably.” Yuki whispers back.
Yuki whispers to Dianora, ”While they go an follow him let’s see if we can sniff out any more information here. I can’t help with listening, but perhaps an eye will be enough.”
Casts scouting eye
Yuki sneaks the eye under the door…
Stealth: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (17) + 23 = 40
If needed I can as a 1 action create a diversion to assist my stealth roll.
”Definitely something fishy going on around here, something not even a good stew could cook the funk out of it. Hopefully one of these people we are trailing cares more about “being helpful” than keeping secrets.”
Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (19) + 22 = 41
Stealth: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (8) + 23 = 31
Yuki finds a place such as a cafe where she can sit and while away the hours and observe the hospice. She is on the lookout for visitors who aren’t what they seem (ie couriers or spies) and for the sister herself to see if she has a pattern that can be exploited.
Yuki covers a laugh with her hand. ”Perhaps the tide will turn in our favor today? Let us observe the hospice for a bit and see her comings and goings. Perhaps someone needs some extra coin and can give us some information?”
Yuki agrees that while the manticore may be easier we should try to fake being sea captains first
”Let us find some place to get off of the streets and lay low while we plot our next move.” Yuki tries to remember the name of the inn she would go hang out at as a kit when she wanted to play as an adventurer and was shirking the chores the Blood Mistress had given her. It was quite the dive…
Society?: 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (20) + 25 = 45
Yuki’s companions manage to talk her down from creating too big of a scene and after some reflection, agrees that a smaller distraction is probably best.
They set up in an area with vendors and stalls and wait for him to pass through. As her companions get into place, Yuki, ducks out of sight and casts unseen servant from her staff. Maintaining the spell, she directs it to begin causing a ruckus in the dockside market. Throwing things around, bumping into people etc.
To create a distraction:
Deception: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (7) + 24 = 31
When Crystal goes to make the lift (if allowed) Yuki will use a Kitsune ability to further Aid her by creating a diversion.
Deception to Aid: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (8) + 24 = 32
Critical Aid!
”It will need to be something impressive,” Yuki agrees. ”But I don’t know that we have time to ensure we aren’t sinking a boat in service to our Lady. Now, a workers riot, that is something that will be big and showy, and we might get some land based explosions out of it…?” Yuki looks around for some malcontents who could get things started for her…
”Damsel in distress or perhaps we start a riot”? Yuki muses. ” we make so there’s a commotion it would be more believable that he gets bumped into I think.”
Yuki plays the distraction. Being someone seen walking around the docks. Following the old adage of being interesting but not memorable.
Deception: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (16) + 24 = 40
And periodically she even remembers to check for a tail. (Other than her own of course which is currently not visible as she is in disguise)
Perception: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (15) + 22 = 37
As they make their way to the docks Yuki suggests taking a circuitous route in case they are being followed and perhaps using our scarfs to change their disguises.
”Perhaps we observe his movements for a little bit? Figure out the best play? Though, if an opportunity presents itself we should take it.”
”The Blood Mistress took me in when I was but a kit. An unseen force guided me to her side from birth. I learned my trade as I grew under her watchful and have learned much about how this island and people in general work.” Yuki goes on to detail some knowledge of the working of things that only someone close the the Blood Mistress would know like some good gossip that might help Nasha out.
Society (M): 1d20 + 25 ⇒ (4) + 25 = 29
Apparently Yuki remembers the wrong juicy tidbit of information…
Yuki approaches Nasha’s handlers. As she approaches, her demeanor shifts, her silky walk is replaced by one of power. She strides up to the handlers, knowing she is the most important person they will meet today.
”Greetings. You’re going to want to let us in now to see Ms Nasha or you can explain to her why you let The Blood walk away.” Yuki says as she indicates Kimmich. ”As you know, we bring our own support team, the The Mistress tends to his wounds, and the The Red Lady acts as a second if desired.” She introduces the rest of the team. We make a pretty awesome WWE team LoL
”Now either her schedule is clear today and we’re all gonna make a lot of money or we walk.”
Deception: 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (9) + 24 = 33
