"Yes, let's make haste," says Yrenn.
Back at her quarters, Yrenn methodically assembles her adventuring gear.
"I shall come too. Such foul organizations offend me, and I cannot allow their existence."
Yrenn summons missiles at the humanoid attacker, again to no avail.
Seeing that her companions are fighting off the strange creature, she turns her attention to the rats.
Yrenn attempts to strike down the gargoyle-like creature, but to no avail.
"Logan!" scream Yrenn.
"Damn it!" Yrenn mangles an incantation.
"Let's go then."
"This could be a trap," whispers Yrenn. "And as powerful as I feel having defeated so many miscreants today, we can still be brought down by an ambush. So we must be careful."
Yrenn turns to the paladin. "There is great evill in this room. Can you feel it, Ba'az?"
The wizardess looks at the room incredulously. "My spell ... it should have worked."
Once again Yrenn casts an enchantment of light, this time into the center of the unholy hall. She tries to get a good look at what is flitting around them.
Yrenn smiles and tells her companions the good news. "This should make you warriors deadlier yet!"
Yrenn's eyes are wide with excitement. But she hesitates to take the items. "Wait. Do not touch. I must first ascertain that no fell magics have cursed these."
Yrenn takes a look as well.
The eldarin points out the sections to her companions. She looks at them expectantly.
Yrenn joins the search.
Hooray ! We've survived out second battle.
Yrenn bows to the plucky kobold. "Please forgive me for denying you the final blow."
Once again, Yrenn unleashes her magic on the undead.
A scowl of disgust crosses Yrenn's face as she conjures a spell of cold.
"Wait," Yrenn whispers. She casts a spell of light into the darkness.
Yrenn gives Jake a surreptitious wink.
"Goblin, do you have a name? If you lead us to your employer, without any mischief, then I'll not feed you to Ba'az."
We could ask our captive to guide us to them under penalty of death should he betray us.
"Where are the authories, indeed."
The mage continues her questioning. "Have you had any contact with him since he was banished by your father?" |
