He means mumble I think. I see his name on the webpage widget.

I'm still at work trying to concentrate on modifying 1099 reporting programs.

Apologies for the book I replied with when asked to tell a little about myself /blush

I'm looking forward to meeting people soon! (Tonight?)

Is this where I post my virtual version of wailing and gnashing of teeth, preach doom and gloom and foretell the failure of a game in Alpha?

Hehe but seriously I hope it comes up soon. I was having a good time.

I've carefully instructed the husband to get it all downloaded and installed for me so hopefully it is ready to go when I get home from work.

If I only knew who to butter up :D

Also, I loled as I thought of Fabio and the old 'I can't believe its not butter!' commercials.

As long as the day to day gaming is fun and interesting a month or 6 of time to train something powerful would bother me at all.

TL;DR: The fact you can lost everything, change the way you play the game.

I think then it may be me just adjusting my thinking. I used to get so pissed in Minecraft and then again in Rust when I would die and lose everything but once I realized how the game mechanics worked I adapted. I built strong attack proof homes and limited my resource gathering trips to how much I was willing to lose if I got killed on my way back home.

My home not being safe scares me. In Rust people break in and kill my sleeping body and ransack all my chests. Thats rough when you log in naked with a rock as a weapon. Then you have to have 2 or 3 backup houses just so you arent naked and unarmed for longer than necessary.

My name is Yelta in pretty much every MMO I have ever played (currently playing FFXIV). I pledged to the kickstarter the moment I saw the words 'Pathfinder' and 'sandbox' in the same paragraph. I pledged at the 'Crowdforger Buddy' level to drag my sister with me as I do on most of my MMO adventures. She's usually a tank and I'm usually a healer so it works out nicely.

I'm probably going to be a cleric and I'm probably best described as NG but I might just play 2 characters and do something different with the 2nd one.

I love to have adventures slaying monsters as well as gathering and crafting. I'm a team player and don't play MMO's to play alone so I like to find a good group to hang with. I prefer a smaller tight knit family type group where I really get to bond with other people vs just being a name on a roster. I'm rusty at RP but am tempted to take it up.

I don't generally enjoy Pvp when it is me getting killed gathering berries or crafting but do enjoy a skirmish here and there out in the wilds. Part of me wants to see a full scale settlement raid hehe.

IRL I am a married mother of 3 working as a programmer/analyst. In my spare time I blog and podcast about a different MMO.

I tend to be chatty and opinionated on forums so you all will probably get sick of me posting.

Reputation, if it works as planned, should greatly limit undesired PvP practices. It is unlikely you will be attacked in town unless you have an assassin contract on you. And a Settlement will take weeks to destroy with siege mechanics. Your Settlement will most likely see signs of a siege/war coming long before it actually takes place.

Awesome, thats the kind of PvP I can get behind and participate in. It definitely seems like GW intends to keep things fair and enjoyable to everyone. I was encouraged that they already modified something in the alpha to prevent spawn camping.

Please forgive my ignorance on game systems and such. I'm still playing catchup since I basically forgot about PFO since the kickstarter.

Is there a 'Introduce yourself' thread I should be posing in btw?

I'm actually pro-Pvp even while I tend to be a bit of a carebear myself. The game totally appears to be designed that we will need to fight over hexes for resources and I have no issue with that. If it is well implemented I'm sure it will be fun and exciting.

Out and about adventuring or even gathering I expect to run across other people who may be friendly or may not be friendly.

What I don't want is to log in and find my settlement destroyed twice a week or to be murdered while crafting in town. If thats the pvp I crave I will just play Rust. So many times I log in and other players killed me and took over my house ><

If the games PvP turns out to wreck the game for me I will just not play and go back to playing FFXIV. I'm not going to kick and scream if the games design doesn't fit my idea of fun. However I will give as much constructive feedback as I can.

Either way I will give the game a chance, I paid for crowdforger buddy so my sister and I can both play and we are both pretty excited for a new game!

You either have to stay near the starter towns, or find a place that can offer you protection in exchange for some of your PvE gains.

I hope to find a group where they will take my crafting, gathering and PvE spoils in trade for a certain amount of protection. I'm a team player and will certainly cooperate in pvp if needed but I am not a pvper at heart so that might be the one thing that drives me away from this game.

Honestly I am betting I can find a group who will want my Cleric heals and value my innate desire to gather resources enough to protect me.

I haven't seriously RP since days before AOL existed... I'm old. I used to spend my days in a America Online chat channel where guys would buy me drinks and send me roses in all Ascii.

We had some damn good chats and much fun was had.

I think most of the PvE people like myself just hope there is a way of playing wherein our PvE gains wont be trampled by weekly PvP raids ><;;

SO much of the Key Lime pie does not live up to south Florida standard. If it is fake is it still superior?

Edit change muck to much -- maybe I shouldn't have

No, I insist on real Key Lime! I grew up on the stuff! Even in Minnesota. Usually one or more family members would vacation in Florida every year and bring back the crafting mats. My aunt was an exceptional baker and would make the most high quality pies that I am forever spoiled...

I'm really surprised that my age group, 30-39 is the largest of the responders. Thats kinda neat. I always assume that I'm in the minority.

I'm just now getting really hyped for the game and have started to read up on some threads. Now to make some friends and find a CC.
