Seems the site ate my post. So a rough one it is. >.< "I am following the pull. While caution is all well and good. I would point out that we are effectively spirits. The physical world is no danger to us anymore then we are to it. At best we would frighten someone, at worst we would have a priest set upon us. I would welcome having a fellow priest to speak with, not being evil he can't harm me after all."

Xuo died at the hands of the demon king of rock mountain. After he was tricked by a demoness at a brothel he was visiting. She was a rival of the demon king and wanted to set Xuo on him. Which she did, only she did not expect him to expose her and kill her. Yet it was not beyond her preparation as the demon witch had plans in place to save her from her first death. Unknown to Xuo she is alive. So Xuo went to rock mountain and killed many petty demons. Still the demon king was not without more powerful allies, such as his three sons. But one by one they fell to Xuo's sword until the demon king had no sons left and a font of rage for the priest. The demon king's sons had not gone down with ease or cost, weakened and drained Xuo barely lasted more then a few moments before the might of the enraged giant demonic king cut him down. Xuo failed and knew death. Sorry if it is a bit rough but figure I should not make you wait. ;) A little sidenote about Xuo's beads, if you read it that is. I figured I make up a little detail tidbit about Taoist priest. OOC every 10 enlightenment beads equals a PC level, hence why he has 100 (10th level). In Taoism they have five elements, I wanted to throw that into the mix too. So every four levels, kinda like the ability score increases, he gains an elemental award. True masters, being 20th level, achieve true enlightenment and master the elements. Holding a staggering 200 beads and the five elemental awards. P.S. I choose the wood and metal elements because I figured him being a preferred swordsmen and having the barkskin ability would mean he was attained to those elements above the other three (earth, fire, and water). I will stop typing now sense I am sure your sick of reading. xP

Xuo finds himself back in the world, along with the others he saw attempting escape as well. His lightening mood was quickly grounded at his realization of his ghostly state. After all what was the point of escaping hell if you were but a spirit. All the wine and women of the world were wasted on him and such was a great deal of worth living, at least to him. His musings are interrupted by the man in armor speaking his thoughts then yelling, he may be a spirit but he was not deaf nor did he wish to be. "Would you calm yourself, truly what fool would walk towards a sinister cave mouth in the mountains without a reason." He hissed. "Now if it is all the same to you I am going to take a look around. If the heavens are merciful I may find a way to become solid once more. Perhaps my Taoist brothers have some ritual to restore me or at least bring about a reincarnation. If I can find them that is." He knew masters were few and far between, their value was worth the effort. Yet he was no master, he had high standing. Possessing one hundred beads of enlightenment and awarded the elemental beads of metal and wood gave him a firm position, but if heaven did not care perhaps his order would not as well. That bothered him a great deal, then again escaping hell was a good start. His fortune was not all bad. He looked at his left arm which had the beads and elemental symbols warped around it, he still had a long way to go in his duty as well. So much left undone.

Sense Xuo is effectively gone and escaped, going to go about it differently. ;) Xuo kept running, he doubted the ogres could follow much less handle him if they could fall to a single well placed strike. None the less his main problem was not going anywhere, he was in hell and he had to find a way out. He searched his memories of his training as a Taoist priest for knowledge on the subject. Granted he was not the best of studies in that field but he was no novice as it was required of his rank among the priesthood. Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 He was not the first to escape hell and surely would not be the last. There was wonder, wine, and women left for him to go back to. Not to mention demons, he repaid his debts and would be sure to repay his death. Will: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Xuo did not stop to look at his handy work, such things were for fools and novices. He was nether, such by the time the ogres noticed what he had done he was fleeing east using his spiritual power. As the line turned into chaos he was still fleeing, calling on yet more reserves of his holy power to widen the considerable gap. He had noticed the actions of others and wished them the best but a dead man had enough problems on his own without concerning himself with others. They would find their own way or not. It was then that he got the message, a simple spell granted yet still beyond him. His mystical training was more of the body then the five elements. He responded as he ran. "Forgive me friend but I am hardly in a position to choose my route. I flee from the ogres and their line of souls. If it is with in your power to find me once I lose them by all means you are welcome if you are no demon. If this is a demonic trick, I will grant you the same mercy I did to the ogre. Farewell." Xuo used a qi point to move 80 ft. in his last post. This "round" as he runs he used another qi point to increase his speed that's 320 ft. added on for a total of 400 ft. from where he was in line by the end of this post. ;)

Sorry if I rushed things but you did place Xuo in the one area of his life that he takes seriously. Throw in the fact that you killed him and his nature is a little dark right now. If he comes back to life his happy place will return, if no demons are around that is. Some booze and pretty women would do wonders too. xP

A man of average height stood in line, wearing the robes of a Taoist priest. He had a solid build but a compact one, giving off a sense of speed and precision rather then brute power. A black jian at his waist with a crossbow on the other side. A small beautifully made sling pack on his back holding the rest of his possessions. That is save for those he normally prepared for battle that were hidden inside the folds of his outer robes. Rows of wands, potions, and other items. A average Taoist he was not, yet now he was deep in thought about his fate. Hell, by all the gods he was sent to hell. Was it not shameful enough to die, to fail. Now he was to be judged by hell, what a sad jest. He had killed demons beyond counting, sent them back to the very hole that spawned them or was their home for all that they had done. Demons die and return to a realm of their own making. He dies and gets sent to a realm of punishment for the holy. He did not claim nobility, no he was to worldly a man for that. But he had destroyed evil for nearly all his life and died doing so. Hell had no right to judge him and if the heavens would abandon him, then he would cut down hell itself for all time until they banished him from the realm in fear. He would not bend to hell, nothing changed. Ever were those words true in his spirit, Destroy Evil. He waited for an ogre to come with in range then lashed out with black fang at a vital point. Using his preferred sword style, whispering the beginning of the incantation that went along with it. "Open the first divine gate, gate of the rat." Balck Fang: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (20) + 19 = 392d8 + 8 + 1d6 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 8 + (1) + (6, 2) = 26
Then calling upon his spiritual power he fled with enhanced speed not the norm for mere men. Edit for crit. I think I just one shot that hapless ogre. xP
I meant good as in oked to be used by us. I don't think Ifrit would go well with Xuo's backstory. But there are some that could work so wanted to know my options. xP As for Improved Weapon Finesse, you can find that on Pathfinder Database. It pops up by different names (deadly agility sounds to murderous to me) in other sources as well but I figured it sounded the best. I also did not want to resort to using agile as well. |
