![]() Finished off the game last Friday to massive carnage. Throne of Abraxas Nellaf - 15 NG Half-elven cleric (protection, healing)
First round Arkot casts Form of the Dragon III to turn into a gold dragon and is promptly targetted by Allevrah with Implosion to snuff out his life force. The party is sort of in shock but do not have a chance to recover before Allevrah is able to Implode Nellaf on round two. Luckily Sorakrel and Jowey(out monk) save and she is then out of targets. She then begins to buff her minions and prepares herself for battle....making her way to Sorakrel who has been cherry picking all of her minions. After Jowey's flurry of misses she disarms Sorakrel of his elf-bane bow and proceeds to slice him up with her own elf-bane whip. I was looking at a TPK when Jowey lands a few criticals on her to finisher up(thank the gods for vital strike). Though disaster was adverted it was only postponed as Jowey accepted Alistraria's offer for a ring of three wishes...thinking he could at least bring his friends back. She said she would provide him with the ring and it will be waiting for him back home, which of course does not help him now. All in all it was a great climatic battle which everyone enjoyed. Hats off to Paizo for the big finish! ![]()

Back to the OP, it does seem strange that no data has been released at all....you might be able to deduce 'some' of the numbers from Hasbro's earnings report. ![]()
![]() I am running SD with five players and it has been plenty hard in the last and current AP(in A Memory in Darkness). We have had animal companions, cohorts, familars, and players all die. So if you are looking for a 6 man team you should do fine. Our group blazed through the first three mods so you could beef up those if you want. But over all it is still very challenging. ![]()

I concure. We are about ready to take on Thorn's End and I am not looking forward to drawing out that tower so that it still looks awesome and my players don't laugh at my horrible drawing. Too bad I don't have the cash to grab a projector...ah well one can dream. ![]()
![]() Not sure if this would be the spot to post this but I have a question: My group is currently on the last leg(Flight from Darkness) and on their treck down the Tower Solacas our mage was Feebleminded when he tried to open a trapped door without talking to the rogue. So what they want to do is try to get a potion of heal/limited wish/ect in order to resolve this issue. Their plan is to take the monk (who when buffed has an AC of 27-29) into the Pale Market while invisible and then have him tell the drow that they will not die if anyone is willing to sell them said scroll. How they plan on using it is beyond me...maybe a really good UMD I guess. My question is that this is a creative, if brash, idea...and very movie-like. So I would like to see it happen but I don't want to down play the drow and at the same time I want to give the players any sort of plot immunity. What would you do? Any ideas would be great. Thanks, Rob ![]()
![]() We have had a few character deaths but this is current. All Beta rules Sorakrel - CG Elven Ranger 10, bane of drow and evil outsiders. Has some special dealings with Desna, mainly because she saved his life back in Children of the Void..so most of his loot goes to her. Jowy Atrides - LN Human Monk 11, from Rahadoom [sic] where he worships a false god. Thus the reason for him leaving. Arkot the Mage - TN Human Transmuter 11. Hails from Korvosa where his father is a member of the Sable Company. Last session Arkot had the unlucky chance to set off a feebleminded trap, so we may see a replacement soon. Flanigan Collins - CN Gnome Arcanist Sorc 10. Flanigan is a resourceful fellow starting with his parents being drug smugglers in Riddleport. He has a quasit familar named Desmosdus and a dwarven cohort named Dorn (CN rogue 8). Flanigan thinks of himself as a reporter and is never seen without pen and parchment. The group is 3/4 of the way through Endless Night and so far everyone is having fun. The complaint that I have recided it that sometimes the module pushes a little hard..but they have managed to survive so far and I have backed down the pace a little bit which helps. ![]()
![]() Anyone know of some good starter modules for Saga Edition? I played it about year ago and had a blast but I know my lack of creativity (read: lazyness) would make for a poor homegrown campaign. I can crunch those rules but arg the settings be kryptonite so even it was old stuff (like d20 or d6) I could make it work. Prolly wouldn't be starting a game anytime soon but it would be nice to have some material to work with. Cheers, Nootch ![]()
![]() Good luck with the monk. Currently our group is about halfway through Endless Night and the monk is doing great....the only character yet to die. He doesn't have the damage as our Ranger(favored enemy is drow, he is an elf so it makes sense) but NO ONE can hit him and his saves are insane. So he walks up to casters and prevents all sorts of spell casting while the ranger pelts them with arrows. Nolveniss was almost a TPK because of the Greater Invis and flying. And I believe that this was just because the monk couldn't fly and see him ;). So yes my player is enjoying his PF Monk and his 'hidden dragon' jumps. ![]()
![]() I agree with Munin. I did subscribe because our group was(is) running the Second Darkness AP and it is nice to get the pdf for maps and such. But we are moving to Red Hand of Doom for are next module so I dumped the sub. Why? Because I don't know what happens after Red Hand and I didn't want to pay to have a product I wouldn't use. So I see a module that looks interesting and might be good for a one shot there is no reason for me to buy it on Paizo.com as I can get it cheaper at my FLGS/Amazon and I will have it faster. So why I understand that Paizo can't sell the hard copy for less then the MSRP they offer no incentive to buy a module or two from them directly...except of course their outstanding customer service which is nothing to shake a stick at (or a rod of wonder). So in closing, maybe Paizo doesn't care if non-subscribers get their goods at other retailers. And for me, that is ok. Subs are a great deal, and I am certain that I will be back soon. ![]()
![]() Greetings folks, I am currently running a PF/3.5 Second Darkness game in Cary. We are located just south of RDU and are looking for one more player. This will help when one of the other players can't make it and hopefully prevent character deaths that I fear will soon be approaching. This weekend we will be starting Endless Night and I am sure that we can RP in another player, if not good old Deux Ex Machina works. We try to meeting every Sunday from about 1.30 to 8.30 with a dinner break. But sometimes we do a Saturday game or call it...depending on schedules. Our group ranges from 23-31 so we are fairly mature but there are still fart jokes (as there should be). Uh, that sums it up. Let me know if you are interested. Xennootch ![]()
![]() I would love to see a product like this. But there is no way I would pay $30 for it. Maybe $14 for the pdf and $20 for a tangible product. What I would like to see is the maps in the back of the AP/pdf. I know that is prolly not going to happen but I would be willing to shell out extra monies for this. If it was done on this model then folks that run APs as they come out can benefit from the folio and it is easy to keep track of the various maps. I am not that interested in pull out maps of the cities, unless they add additional content (methinks of the Myth Drannor pullout from AD&D). And yes I am not an economist so I don't know if it is feasible but one can dream. EDIT: Do'h! Ninja'd by Eric. ![]()
![]() Awesome that there is a spot to add PFRPG NPCs to the wiki! I will have to add all of the ones I have done for Second Darkness, we are just finishing Armageddon Echo so there should be enough to get started. Some NPCs are easier to convert then others. And I do find that it is pretty easy to run the AP on 3.5 rules but I do like to give 'named' villians a little boost so they can still pick a fight with the PCs. ![]()
![]() Yes indeed, I got some item cards with my first order back in the day. It was a welcome surprise. Of course I generally just use mine for bookmarks, but hey they work good for it. Also I have to give Paizo props for sending a replacement copy of AP 14 when my first one was defective. And the best part is that I am done with that AP so this will remain in mint condition, woo! ![]()
![]() Ya I have used the super glue as well (on SD2). Only thing is that I didn't exactly line up with the rest of the book, so those two pages look kinda out place...curses for it not being perfect. But on the flip side we just finished the chapter last night and my group had a blast! Our monk was luckily the only one in the tumbling tower and didn't get a scratch on him plus he fended off many 'blue-doggies' and saved some cyphermages. Needless to say, he thought he was invincible after that. I can't wait to start SD 3 which, btw, does not have any defects after my 80 billion readings. Woo Paizo! ![]()
![]() I have one to add to this list of death. It happened near the end of "Children of the Void" in the drow cave. The party had entered the cave after setting off the sonic trap so the two drow were prepared for them. Our ranger, Sorakrel, has picked drow as a favored enemy (he is elven and it makes sense in the world so I allowed it) and he was able to take out these two drow fairly quickly with the rest of the party. Well, his hatred took over and he rushed into the next area while the rest of the party was heading to the siren's caveren. Of course the shadow demon, Chmetugo, was waiting for him with a dive attack. This added to his pounce to knock out Sorakrel but not quite kill him. Hearing the screech from the demon the rest of the party came to Sorakrel's aid. They held the demon at bay for a while but one well placed bite and Sorakrel's short story had come to an end. Sorakrel lv 6 Ranger of Desna. May he rest in piece. |
