Hey all. So for 1e, the Incubus and Succubus are two distinct demons of Lust with different stat-blocks and abilities. My question is have any of you ever differentiated between the stat-blocks in your own campaigns/adventures? Make a distinction between these two demons in gameplay? Or do you just regard the Succubus stat-block as the only one and call it a day (As noted in the Monster Summoner's Handbook, the sexy male demon is called a Male Succubus) Because it would seem stat wise, the Succubus is more powerful with more abilities compared to the Incubus, while martial inclined still lacks a bit more (such as the soul-sucking kiss) On a related note; do you think 2e should separate these demons again with different stats for Incubus and Succubus? (That is if they ever get around to statting up an Incubus?) ![]()
So a succubus or incubus has the change shape ability. Accordingly they can basically alter themselves into any humanoid within medium to small range. The thing is, does humanoid also include beings such as a nymph? Therefore can a succubus Change shape into a nymph? What about into each other? Can a succubus just change shape into an incubus and vice versa? ![]()
Nethys, God of Magic and unstable genius Divine Archmage has ended up travelling here to Earth and in an unprecedented and global changing event, has chose YOU to receive the full powers and knowledge of a Wizard (or other spellcasting class of your choice) - You instantly level to 20th, choosing feats/spells/specializations/class features etc - You dont get any items besides what is necessary for your class such as spellbook/familiar/eidolon This all seems to happen as if you went on an grand adventure but in truth this momentous event takes no more than a few moments. However those moments are public and soon become the most viral event in the world. Nethys then leaves as fast as he appeared, off to only where a mad god would know. Your face and identity spreads as only the internet knows and soon the world looks at you. What do you do? Edit (1): You dont start with any spells/magic ready. You have to rest the requisite hours and prepare the spells as per your chosen class ![]()
So lets say as per the title thread, by some random divine act, due to your "crimes" you have been sentenced to become a fiend as per pathfinder universe. However you get to choose what sort of fiend you will become? As per a simple list we have; Demon
Which would you pick? ![]()
So now that 2e is in full swing, I would like to point out that in 1e we still have lots to talk about. Specifically liches. We know that they are probably overdone, with many adventures having at least one antagonist lich in them. My question is, which lich in 1e and lore-wise did you want to read more of? Their history, background, fluff stuff? Mine would probably be on the liches of Eox, coupled with Alling Third the cyborg lich. Which one would yours be? ![]()
So has anyone tried to describe the succubus/incubus besides what's already provided in books and such? Instead of bat wings, maybe feathery wings or insect-like wings. Instead of a red, tendril tail, its more flesh-like or looks more suited to a big cat. Maybe they don't have horns, or their horns are curving and large and ram-like, instead of feet, maybe they have hooves or taloned feet. Lore-wise I can only point out to Nocticula, but she was a demon lord. Then there's Shamira the nascent lord who took over, who has wings of fire. In Dave Gross's King of Chaos, when the succubus Yavaliska creates succubi from her own blood, they are described as having bat wings but in different colours and all of them human looking but with different ethnic appearances. Since demons and the Abyss by nature are chaotic, has anyone homebrewed their own lust demons unique appearance? ![]()
So lets say a vanilla generalist Human Wizard max 20th level with the appropriate WBL (for all extents and purposes a PC) suddenly visits our world, in such a way that cannot be denied that he has some sort of power we don't truly understand. This Wizard wants to vacation in our world and actually resides in a demiplane somewhere far away. Various governments, organisations and other power groups/individuals along with various leading men and women in all walks of life and varying influences attempt to make peaceable contact once they realise this Wizard's sheer power and knowledge. But the Wizard wants nothing to do with any of our people or power plays. He just wants to be left to his own devices and wants to idle the time away here. But the people of our world wont let the Wizard off that easy and try to cajole him at best or threaten him at worst. The Wizard however points out a few key things: 1. The Wizard isn't interested in advancing our knowledge or helping us to understand magic or the arcane.
So my question is, if you had control of a vast operation like say a government funded program aimed at making the Wizard enhance our magical knowledge, how would you go about it? Threats? Blackmail if at all possible? Also note, you would not be the only one and have to actively compete against other government operatives, private organisations and individuals with resources, so you are facing competition as well. (this is just a thought experiment that came to mind) ![]()
So quick what if scenario but one of a few reasons why Geb is not as say dangerous to his neighbours is because he's a ghost. He basically constantly looking to see if Nex is still alive and busy moping around. However if he had become a lich shortly before Nex vanished, then in the intervening centuries would that had changed anything? maybe significantly or otherwise? As a lich, Geb would have been more of an active threat but consider if he still kept to his private ways, would that have changed much? How would the neighbouring countries respond? Lastwall lost Arazni because they attacked Geb and he wasn't even active but as a lich? And if he brought back Arazni as a lich, both liches would be seen as a greater threat? Maybe even more than the Whispering Tyrant? ![]()
Hey there, first time on the forums here and would like to start a thread in the same vein as Tiny Coffee Golem. Basically, If you were a 20th level Wizard ( or any other spellcasting class, your choice) would you use your magic to help only yourself and your family? or would you help the world and all of its people? If you only keep your magic to yourself, why? If you want to help the world, why? (However a rule is that you are unable to teach others your magic, others cannot gain any Wizard and or any other classes due to some magic fiat) |
