On a related note, has anyone made, or does anyone have a PDF checklist of all Dragon Magazine issues (or Dungeon Magazine, or both)? I need to go through my collection and see what I have, I was thinking I should make a list. Then I thought, somebody probably has made a checklist that I could download and check off boxes for the issues I own. Did a quick search and found nothing, so I figured I'd ask here at the messageboards. I'm new to the messageboards, so I apologize if this is posted in the wrong spot on the boards. (How does one start a new thread? Couldn't figure it out...)

Davick -- I too, would LOVE to see Kingmaker as an all-in-one adventure bundle, as I started playing Pathfinder kind of late in the game and missed some/much of the great stuff, especially written early on. Wish I could get my hands on a complete set of Kingmaker stuff including flip-mats and such, but alas, they are mostly out-of-print or charging an arm and a leg for them on ebay...

So...

+1 VOTE for a COMPLETE KINGMAKER COMPILATION! (if it ever gets put to a vote...)

Every time I pass that huge map in the hall, I think what an awesome shower curtain it would make.

Print it out and laminate it? That might work!

I never used their service, but it seems like they have the know-how to pull it off!

I wonder if Paizo would consider doing one of the major cities of Golarion as a Boxed set?

I love my 2e City of Greyhawk, and it's wicked convenient with the maps separate and all. I wish that the books were actually 3-hole punched. There's not enough room really to take them apart and 3-hole punch them myself, or I would do it.

I wonder what the cost would be like to just print a pile of material 3-hole punched, with a bunch of (perhaps) un-punched fold-out maps in a cheap-ish (throw-away?) box that gives a high level of detail about a city or interesting region of Golarion? Go buy your own 3-ring binder(s) to organize and separate the material the best way for the way you DM. And/or design the box to be cut up and be used as dividers for the setting? Elsewise, it's creating a tome the size of Ptolus... (which I own, but is less-than-convenient for referencing stuff)

We've looked into doing boxed sets, and we KEEP looking into doing them. As Paizo gains more resources, the idea of publishing a boxed set gets closer and closer to reality, but the last time we ran the numbers, it ended up looking like a boxed set on par with, say, Dragon Mountain would need to be priced well over $100.00 for us to not lose money on it (I want to say we came to a conclusion that such a set would need an MSRP of something like $250.00, but I could be mis-remembering).

I hear you, and I'm sure we'd all rather you continue to publish cool products than go bankrupt on a box set.

What about some sort of middle ground? A digital boxed set? Publish a physical book and sell it for a percentage more than normal (what that % is you math and finance whizzes would have to find out) and then make additional content available online or on a cd.

PDFs of maps, NPC and Monster cards, notes to party members for in-game secrecy, back story, etc would be pretty cool and I would pay extra for it.

You'd still have to pay for the production but the materials, shipping and printing costs would be virtually gone on everything but the book itself.

I'll second a vote for something middle-ground-ish! I love the stuff from Necromancer Games that came as a print copy but included an encryption code on the title page of the book that gave you access to maps and extra materials that were downloadable from their site. Lost City of Barakus is a favorite and a great example. Take off some layers to include unlabeled player maps would be an excellent plus, PDFs of artwork that you could print for players *if* you want to, include as PDFs stuff that didn't quite fit into the 128 page hardcover (I think Necromancer did a fair amount of that?). I like the idea and would pay extra for that, too!

Avoid wands with saves as the saves are set at minimium stat plus spell level. Summon monster III is a decent one and magic missle is a never miss.

Summon Monster can provide a meat shield between you and your homicidal DM's pet monsters. After second level spells wands get real pricey real quick.

Yeah, I'll "second" the Magic Missile wand - great pick. Leaves your wizard open to prepare buff and utility spells while maintaining an offensive spell. Bards/druids/clerics might want to have a Cure wand of some sort. A Cure Light Wounds wand is not that expensive and gives you 50 healing doses. A Dispel Magic wand comes to mind as a handy one, too, if you can afford it.

I use my own homebrewed spellpoints system for my high-magic high-powered 3.5 campaign. Not sure how it would convert to PF. I've considered switching over, but it would take a lot of work, so I'm going to wait. My idea is a "spellpoints per spell level" system; caster has a certain amount of access to each level of spell power. Metamagic feat usage is resolved using spellpoints (Enlarge costs 1 additional point, Empower costs 2, etc.). A 5th level wizard with a 16 INT has 7 0-level spells, 6 1st-level spells, 5 2nd-level spells, and 4 3rd-level spells each day as an example. I'll post it if there's interest or email it if you want more info, but the full explanation is about 3 pages long with examples and charts. My players absolutely love this system. It tends to keep the play going longer with fewer rest-and-regain-spell breaks and hasn't proven to be unbalancing. I think if I converted it to PF I'd have to disallow the sorcerer bloodlines (or lessen them, anyway) at least. I'm not sure what else I'd have to change...

Can you laminate it? How does dry/wet erase work on things that are laminated at the local office shop?

Might be cool for sites that are visited often, the local tavern that the PCs usually frequent, or the HQ of the NPC who frequently hires PCs. Perhaps a generic sewer system that can be periodically tweaked with a paper overlay. An opportunity to create a custom library of frequented sites, perhaps specific to the area in which the PCs usually adventure. Just some thoughts...

Does anyone have the map(s) for the Ruins of the Mistmarsh adventure that was published in the Oerth Journal (I think #11) a few years back? The adventure has all the stats but no map to put them with. Apparently the map(s) were posted on Sean Williams' website for awhile, but his website link is no longer working. If anyone has this I would REALLY appreciate a copy. Thanks!

For those that don't know, Canonfire! (http://www.canonfire.com)has a wealth of Greyhawk info, including all the Oerth Journals, many of which were written long ago by people who are working on all this now (like Erik Mona).
