I've just designed a Level 12 Batman with a Monk 6 (Martial Artist Archetype)/Ninja 3/Urban Barbarian 3.
Controlled Rage helps highlight Batman's powerful and determined focus, the 6 monk levels give him the fisticuffs he needs, and the Ninja gives him a couple extra bonuses to the stealth he loves most.
