While Xaandros was created for the Council of Thieves, he could be re-tooled for Second Darkness.
I actually have a character that made it through the first scene of CoT before it died... Tiefling (Rakshasa) Bard It's amazing how many PbP games just completely bite the dust...I've been running several over the last year, I took over CotCT, running it with a full new cast except my own DMPC who started out as a PC. The CoT game lasted all of a month I think.

"Prisoner??, bah I was just going to leave him here...with a skin of water. I'm sure in a few days he would get loose, if the rats don't eat him first"

Xyro: Spoiler: Hey the pace of the Paranoia game has slowed a LOT, so if you want you can always jump back in. And we're down to 4 players.
Xaandros fishes in his backpack and pulls out a small bag... Caltrops, I'll drop some in the water just after we enter the sewer, where I'm sure one of the knights will step on them, they'll have to be more careful after that, lest they want the filth fever, then after a few hundred more yards, I'll drop another, just to keep them light on their feet...
Fear not brave Wiscrani! Pharasma may deliver us this day, but give the good fight, take these dogs down, now is the hour upon which we make right, or DIE in the attempt! Now, stop your cowering, and prepare to fight, for tis better to die facing your enemy than to die with a bolt in the back! Quickly upend these tables, provide cover for us, block the doors, so those heavily armored knights have trouble moving through this tavern.
Xaandros takes a large portion of goat, and the seafood soup, carefully taking only seafood and broth. He eats it, the meat nourishing him... Xaandros sits patiently listening to the others...then he stands Look to me, I represent that which is wrong in this city, I'm a nobleman by birth, though cast out because the infernal pacts made by my ancestors, I am a tiefling, a mockery to both the nobles who lost control and to the fiends themselves! Xaandros moves to the tabletop Death for a good cause is a good death, there is no throwing life away of we inspire others to rise up against this tyranny, these diabolists clinging to their very existence, they prevent us from meeting and slinking about the shadows to keep us under foot. Under the Jack Boots of the Hell Knights! he pulls his sitar from his back, and begins to play City of Shadows,
The once grand city,
No longer does laughter,
Aroden fell, a century past,
With fiendish pacts, and fiendish laws,
Now she looks to heroes,
Now she looks to heroes
Xaandros trails the song off... What say you?
Xaandros reveals a small tattoo of a stylized butterfly within the Pentacle of Asmodeus to Shadow Blade. It's wings breaking the pentacle ever so slightly, but at first sight, it appears to be a normal stylized pentacle. It's best to hide the truth behind in an obvious location...A Sheep in Wolf's clothing...
Xaandros be my name he says as he stands to bow, Indeed, these devil twisted fates thrust me from my family, I was expelled from House Arvaxi when my Infernal nature was revealed. It seems my family made deals in the past with the fiends most common in the desert lands...and generations later that deal has once again shown itself. Though I'm not like most of those cursed in these lands...My wits and charm run much beyond my brethren. Xaandros seemed to be about to say more when the newcomer arrives But, yes, you may have seem me in one of our lovely opera houses, though my voice is not as strong as the stars, I have had a few bit parts.
Conspicuous? Let's make this look like a party then. Xaandros states as he pulls the Sitar from his shoulder and takes a seat in the corner. Xaandros begins to play a tragic song, picking the strings to the familiar tune of Fallen in Twilight. An outlawed song...a song sung by those of rebellious spirit...
Xaandros slips out of the shadows after watching the others enter, and thinks Spoiler: , he steps into the old tavern, Xaandros is dressed in the latest fashions of nobility, a beautiful rapier and dagger slung casually, almost at an awkward angle, a buckler is strapped to his right arm. He wears black leather armor with red lacquered studs, and chased in red. The cloak is well made, with a heavy cowl, his thigh high boots match his studded leather armor, black with red lacquered studs, in addition to matching braces. A beautiful wide brimmed hat accompanies his ensemble, with a cockatrice feather adorning it. Strapped over his back is a polished black walnut sitar with, inlaid with silver filigrees.
this should be interesting Perception DC10 Spoiler: Disguise1d20+7=10 This man is not a human, perhaps a tiefling, but not like any you've seen before, he has attempted to disguise his extra thumbs by slipping his ring and pinky in the same glove finger.
You see a dashing young man dressed in the fineries of nobility step into the plaza of flowers and survey the ladies standing around the fountain...for some reason they seem to shun him...he then waves at them with and you note that he has 2 thumbs on each side of his hand...hell-spawn...no wonder they shunning him. |
