How come nobody is posting?

What's up? Why isn't anybody posting?
DNS got your collective tongues? :P

Last session the party fought against Temauhti-tecuani. The rogue was up against him in melee, she was invisible and sneak attacked him. She used Bleeding Attack and gave the dinosaur bleed 5.

A couple of rounds later it hit me: When is this bleeding going to stop?
The answer: never, unless animals can perform a heal check on themselves. Can they?

If the answer is no, the party could have run away and in 1 hour the dinosaur would have received 5x10x60 = 3,000 dmg! Of course he'd have been dead long before that but you get the idea.

Another point that got raised during the same encounter is if you could use several talents at the same time: Bleeding Attack + Crippling Strike. What about Crippling Strike + Dispelling Attack?

It doesn't say you HAVE to choose one. In fact, the wording makes it look they are triggered not activated, they just happen when you sneak attack. So do ALL of them happen at the same time if you have them?

In my opinion, 20s had lost their luster. Seeing a natural 20 on the dice was a prelude to disappointment with critical confirmations.

I changed that to auto-criticals but with the critical range reduced by 1. Any effect that increases the critical range does so by 1.

So an 18-20 weapon, is now 19-20 autocrit.
A 20 weapon is still a 20 weapon.

The math provides pretty close averages over time compared to the original rule.

20s are a happy sight again.

In my opinion they are, more often than not, useless.
Wizards don't get more less powerful spells as they advance.
Recently, I've decided to give +5 dmg instead of each iterative attack. This damage does not get multiplied on criticals.

This is about a recently converted bard, but really it is about the Linguistic skill.

Fidan the bard has always been interested in ancient scriptures, so his PRPG conversion included a full compliment of Linguistic ranks.

He wanted the skill for the "decipher writing" effect, and got a ton of languages as a bonus. He is 9th level and his character knows a total of 13 languages! And he learned 8 of them in less than a year.

I'd like to file a bug report please.

We just finished converting our characters to PRPG. This post is about the evoker.

He has an special ability at 8th level called Elemental Wall. It pretty much says its a Wall of Fire but you can change the element type, "otherwise functions like a Wall of Fire".

A Wall of Fire can be put out (or at least sections of it) by dealing 20 cold damage to it.

So, can a Wall of Cold (as an evoker ability) be "put out" by dealing 20 cold damage to it? What about a Wall of Electricity or one of Fire again?

Another point is the Specialist Bonus itself. This is better explained with an example:

A 9th level Evoker can unleash a 9d6+2 Fireball unto his enemies.
A 9th level Necromancer can unleash a 9d6 Fireball unto his enemies, then send in 24 3HD skeletons to finish them off (72HD worth of undead).

Do you see it? I think you do ;)

I'm looking for a player for my Friday group. My good dwarf won't be able to play for months, and the party is down to 3 PCs... again. I'd like someone who likes a good dose of roleplaying, who doesn't argue about rules (at least not during the game), and keeps her mind moving forward in the adventure. We like our game friendly and fun.

We are playing Savage Tide, plain vanilla game with a couple of house rules. Fridays 8pm EST. Using GlitterComm.

We'll probably have an ancillary adventure, a test adventure of sorts playing an indirect part in the ongoing story but discardable if it goes to hell, to make sure you can integrate with our gaming style. This is to protect our ongoing game--we have a friendly and tight group--, and ensure you are in for the long run. I need you for the long run, the reason will become apparent the 1st time we play.

Let me know!

Usually, you can also find me procrastinating at the Pathfinder Chronicles chatroom if you want to talk more.

Today I got Dungeon #147 (awesome by the way), and it came with a notice that I have "Only 2 Issues Left!" and I should renew "now while I can".

That is so wrong! ;)
I renewed some weeks ago before THE announcement.
I already turned my remaining subscription credit into Pathfinder.
In fact my subscriptions read as follows:
Pathfinder 7
Dragon 14 (yeah right :P )
Dungeon 14

So, am I good and this was just a distribution glitch? Do I need to do anything?

"Subscribe to Dungeon magazine, where you always roll a 20."

I'm starting a new group and I'm short 1 player.

The game is online, using my own software(*). We plan on playing Fridays starting at 7pm EST until we can't play any longer :P which should be around 1 or 2 am.

The composition of players so far is:
2 gamers who have been playing with me for about 10 years (on the table and recently online).
1 totally new player (has played computer games only). Very enthusiastic, so I'm rooting for him to become a good player.

Your age, gender, and proficiency with the game doesn't matter; we have it all already. But, being there to play is important. Simply put, we won't play if someone is missing. Think about your commitment before applying.

We'll be playing Savage Tide, and as such, I don't know if Paizo's boards are a good place for this ad ;) Does anybody here has NOT been reading the AP?

(*)
The software is PC-Win only (sorry Linux and Mac users, crossplatforming sucks, specially as a lone programmer).
For normal people: You need a desktop computer bought in the last 3 years; or a nice laptop (get a real mouse though).
For techies: You need a video card supporting vertex and pixel shaders version 2.0.
For everybody: If you can play any of last years A1 games ($50 games) you're good.

Make no mistake, this is real tabletop gaming. And for the record, me and my other group (Sundays) have been playing with it for months, not all features are finished but we can play comfortably.

No voice communication--We tried that and the moment I amped up the roleplay it sucked. People were speaking on top of each other (no one likes to be interrupted) and without body language there is no way to see it coming, because of this players (as opposed to characters) started fighting. Writing has been a lot more conductive to roleplay.

Contact me, if you are interested, at wyvern@glittercomm.com

PS. For those of you asking themselves why not use one of the other online tabletops, the answer is: because they sucked in one way or another, paid and free, I tried them all. If I can do better, why not? And it has the added bonus that I can add or change stuff whenever I want to, and oh boy! do I have a list of features.

I just had to reply to this post because it is so true; but it was in the middle of an unsavory thread, so I plucked it out.

Dungeon and Dragon may be leaving Paizo and going on line, but it isn't over. More importantly Paizo isn't over, so the good work continues. The Adventure Paths has my gaming group convinced I'm an awsome DM.

Paizo make Dungeon Masters better.

I agree wholeheartedly. I can't place my finger on the exact cause, but my players do think our games are better since we started playing Adventure Paths. And for months, they didn't even know we were!

I couldn't cut that quote out because, you know, it's just good advice all around.

Hello?
Did I forget to remove my cloak of invisibility or something? Did somebody cast silence on me?

I draw my dagger and carve "I'm here" on the wall. I draw coins and a check mark right next to it. Then I draw a dragon and cross it out.

...no, it's not a duck, it's a dragon.
