Sadly, I think I'm gonna have to drop this one. A bit too quick and a bit of too many references I'm not getting. Have fun!

"That works for me."

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Wisp heads down after a few hours of sleep, still yawning and red-eyed as he heads outside to smoke. A few minutes later he comes in seeming much more refreshed and alert. "Good morning."

Wisp watches carefully, ready to act if John seems to start acting weird.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

and a response to mine?

So what I am hearing is that you guys want this Fallen to kill all of you ;)

If he does so, we will blame you. Our blood will be on your soul. :)

Wisp Shrugs, "Well, it's what I got." As he's speaking he gestures one way with his hand, as the tendril comes around to strike from another dimension.

Spending hero point to not be fatigued.

Move for feint. feint: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
and same attack as last timeattack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

I agree with lethal being the standard. Non-lethal is a superhero trope. Plus we still have hero points to save our asses.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

As the surge of energy drives the poison from him, he focuses on the shadow. His tendril of vapor narrows, growing to an incandescently hot point. Hot enough to burn something that isn't there.

Stunting Damage 7, affects insubstantial, homing 2, improved critical 4

attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

fortitude: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
stat: 1d3 ⇒ 3

11 points of autohit Con damage. Leaving me at 5 con. Ouch!

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Doh!

And it means that I can't do anything to this. :( bummer.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Seeing that it's a cold spot, he reaches out with a tendril of superheated smoke to burn it.

attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

He'll nod at that, "Very few get to choose their road. And those that do usually waste the opportunity." But he shrugs, "Still, it's what you do with what you're given that matters."

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

"Lead on, John." he says genially. "So, how do you fit into this whole crazy world?"

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Before long, Wisp comes back with a large backpack. "So, what did I miss? Anything new attack in the last half hour?"

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

A shield can deflect some of the energy of a blunt weapon - but the rest of it goes into your arm. Trust me, you're going to feel it later.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

... and shields, being less cool, are usually much less effective in games than in reality. I remember that from the backyard playing around with padded rebar and lumber-built shields.

"I think I can help. I'll head out to pick up my stuff and settle up with the wonderful accomodations I'm staying at. Anybody need anything while I'm out?

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Recognizing one word, he interjects, "Did he say Jinn?" He shakes his head slowly. "They're the ones trying to kill me. They claim my powers are a perversion of theirs."

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

At hearing the comment on smoking, he nods. "So, perhaps I can help with the tennant situation. I haven't found a more permanent place yet. My current digs are... less than optimal." It's at this point that the non-responsive Warden becomes an issue.

Since eye contact seems to be the issue, he steps up and whips off his jacket to hold it between them and cut the gaze. A red foam ball pops out and bounces across the room.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

He looks around, "Nice place. Pretty big. Call me Wisp." There seems to be a little bit of regret at the last part, but it quickly fades.

California here. On warm summer nights I can just hear the boom of Disneyland exploding.

I just read the new Squirrel Girl TP and is is soooo much awesome. And the creators add lots of little details and quips. Very cool people.

Warden Kishan wrote:

I think Wisp is still with you.

Oh, nope, he has a hog, but he's still driving with us from the sound of it.

Yes, he is following along. He would like to know some of the other magical players in the city and I would like to not make things hard on the GM.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Wisp will nod at that. As everybody gets settles in the truck, he'll head off. By the time the sardines are packed, he'll pull up on a motorcycle. It's a classic Harley softtail. He pulls up and waits for the truck to pull off.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Jasper looks around. "So, what's this whole warden thing about?"

Would it be right or wrong or useful or not to sign off every night in the discussion thread? I intend to be posting fairly often from 3-11 or 12 every day, then checking in when I can during the work day, but would it be good for you guys if I just said "Last post for the day" every day so you know that I'll be gone for a while?

Perhaps too much. It's looking like a huge post-storm every day. I may need to bow out.

I've never heard of the Wildcard series. Who's the author?

Actually I'm gaming with one of them on Saturday. Steve Perrin. He also wrote the rules for RuneQuest back in the day.

Jasper checks out the bodies. He didn't know if this was related to those following him, and he didn't quite want to pry. He'll turn to the redhead guy, "Thanks, but I've got my own ride. Name's Wisp, though. Just got into town. Stuff like this happen often?"

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

We didn't know it was Boston when we started. For a while people were talking Vegas, and that's hard on Aquamages.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Jasper will fly up to the crane. Looking over the unfamiliar controls, he will reach out and pull one lever...

spending his hero point to pick the right one.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

When we're in combat time, can we be a bit more organized? People are running over each other and others are getting skipped.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Smoke will pour out, once again not particularly bothering the people who seem to have come to help out. As it billows out he slips up out of reach of the large gentleman.

I have a little drive too. It's sort of needed for his motorcycle. After all, relying on public transportation is bad when the fate of the world is at stake.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

The smoke coalesces into a figure, "I'm Wisp, and I don't like the cold at their backs." He's shoot a slim jet of superheated smoke at the source of the cold on one of them.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Jasper reaches for the boy as he starts slowing of his own accord. Seeing others react to the gunmen, he moves toward the suits while smoke starts billowing out. The gunmen will it hard to see, but nobody else will find it overly bothering.

Hero points: 1/0; Bruises/Wounds/Conditions: 0/0/0

Jasper will fly around to see into the crate as he approaches. Seeing somebody jump up, he gets his tendrils ready to catch anybody that tumbles out. He's not strong, but he hopes he can at least slow people down.

*pulls out a badge and gun* Memetic police, you're under arrest for the crime of linking to TV Tropes without posting the a warning. I lost my brother to TV Tropes for six months, so just give me an excuse.

Still new to the area, he had been spending time wandering around. Seeking out the places that had stood the test of time was one of the best ways to learn a city. Thus he had a lobster roll in hand when the commotion started. He stepped into the parking lot and between two vans, he slipped from view. Most mortals wouldn't catch him as he took to the wind and slipped into the maze of containers looking for the trouble.
