William says "Invisible you say? Got it." He pulls out a scroll of detect invisibility and uses it on himself (assuming he can see, if not he moves carefully to the right until he can see.

Got it about the darkness. It makes sense.

I thought Grum was giving us all darkvison that don't have it each morning while we are down here. If not William doesn't use the light cantrip, he has a continual torch, but I don't think that will make a difference.

William shrugs and says "Not knowing the spell, it's hard to say. At least a few minutes and maybe as many as 10-15. Some spells like my haste spell would only last 2 minutes cast by a very powerful person. Some would last up to 20 minutes and some hours. I wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes max though. But I imagine they may come to us first."

William starts the tale of their journey from Longshadow to the Valley of Aloi,"It appeared that the tower in Longshadow was attached to the Valley of Aloi and the Mayor of Longshadow asked us to check it out on our journey here. On our way we came upon something that seemed to be using groundhogs as bait and later a giant ant colony. We passed around both of those. As we were leaving camp we were set upon by earth elementals. Further into the day we ran into a huge giant with large tusks and a third arm. We had fought one before and since we had the drop on it, we filled it with arrows. Then as we descended into the valley we were set upon by two rocs and Aerel was grabbed. Benedict used the dragon figurine and we managed to hurt it enough that it fell out of the sky and was killed. It's mate left. In the southwest corner of the valley was a hastily built camp of wooden buildings and tents. In the center of the camp was a pile of black rocks. I believe that was the remains of the other end of the path to Longshadow. We found ogres left in the camp and dispatched them. That was a long day of fighting."

When William hears they want proof he pauses and thinks for a second and then smiles and reaches into his haversack and pulls out a black scale and tosses it on the table. His smiles grows larger as he says "You never forget your first dragon but it's nice to have a piece of it. Amkarang was kind enough to get us each a scale from it. I'm sure you can work some divination spells to verify who it was from. We didn't take the ones from Naphexi that Ibzairiak had, they were covered in a thin layer of mold."

I thought you could only wear one item in the neck slot, I've been combining NA and AMoF into one on characters.

I think I know what I want to do for my purchases.
I'd like to up my armor from +1 to +3 8k
Add Holy to my bow 32k
Pick up bracer's of falcon's aim 4k
That's 44k total and will leave me with 2k.

Any thoughts or other suggestions from anyone?

As Benedict pauses William starts "I was driven from a monastery outside town that focused on Aroden. I have some arcane abilities because of that. I joined the others shortly after they arrived in the cave and as a witness to Grum's fight I will say it was epic. Fighting a hobgoblin on a dire wolf alone took some guts." William pauses here and looks for any reactions.

He then continues "I am going to skip ahead a little to give you my take on what I think may interest you the most. That is the black tower. We got an up close an personal look outside of Longshadow. The runes seem to enable the tower to connect to the Stone Road allowing the hobgoblins to move large amounts of troops quickly from somewhere. I can attempt to draw some of the runes."

William then sketches some out and attempts to give as detailed of an explanation of what he has gleaned from them as he can.

I don't know how much I can recount. I don't even remember when I came in. I'll get a post up with something.

I generally find that whenever I have GM'd something I get a lot of characters I don't really care for. You were pretty clear you weren't looking for power builds but you are getting them. I hope you find a group you like.

Great to see you running a game. I am in a CC game as well, though it is a bit slow moving. One of these days I might finish one. I've been lucky enough to pick up a new one around where my old ones have died. I'm on number 3 or 4 now.

I currently have no natural armor but I think the +2 should go to someone in melee first. I can take a hand me down if there is one, if not to biggie. Same with the ring of evasion. The Eyes might be best for Aerel.

I have added the wand and scrolls to my list. I wonder if I should put any of them in my spellbook.

I've got a bit of money to spend. Have to see what is available first.

When an offer to look at wares arises William looks to Benedict and says "I believe we have a few things to trade and some things to look for."

William listens intently to the description of those who may or may not be there. He then says "If the general can't come to us, for obvious reasons, then we may have to go to him after the meeting. It would be good to confirm if this is the Ironfang army and we may be able to exchange tactics for fighting them. It would be good for both of us."

When Karburtin starts talking to William about the magic, William just smiles knowingly and puts his finger to the side of his knows.

William stops and watches Karburtin curiously when he wants to try a gesture. Upon seeing the "bow" he returns it with a proper bow and then walks next to Karburtin and says "As a man of learning I am sure you would want to know more about that. Most humans don't bow in greeting. That is strictly among the upper classes and nobles and the one of lower status bows first. Most humans would be happy with a "Hello!", a hearty slap on the back and being handed a mug of ale! We really appreciate the last part." He then smiles at Karburtin warmly.

William's jaw drops when he hears Benedict say we are going to have to fight them. He shakes his head and says "If these are the allies we seek then we shouldn't start things out by fighting them. What did they say?"
