Will walks into the building wearing a black suit today, carrying that same briefcase he had last meeting with the same relaxed, but dignified stride as before. In his other hand, a copy of the days newspaper. "Anyone read the paper? Roshburg Killer Investigations Task Force. I suppose it would be silly to expect a police outfit to have a marketing guy, but they could have given it an attempt. 'RKITF' does not evoke a sense of power or security. But, more importantly of course... a kidnapping of one of theirs. I find the idea that this abduction has nothing to do with the victims occupation dubious at best. Dangerously cover-up scented at worst."
Male Human
"Well, we have been presented with another option as well. We could simply offer what little we have found ourselves to the police to help their investigation and go back to our lives. To be frank, the risk of being arrested ourselves has just shot up dramatically, and the local PD will certainly have better resources than we. To continue on our own would be foolish and likely counterproductive." Will speaks in his usual even, polite tone.
Male Human
Iunno. Did NPC!Jake share what he found with Will before going AWOL? I'm also interested in hearing if anything useful came of what Will did during his day. "The police are finally taking action. It is good to hear honestly. The whole reason I felt we needed to be here was their lack of action."
Male Human
Oh my. Will nods and takes the seat offered to him. He places his briefcase on his lap, more importantly covering most of his vitals. Hard thing to do inconspicuously. With an offer of a handshake to both he replies to Shades fishing. "Johnathan Ada, it's nice to meet you two. I apologize for barging into your lunch break the way I have. Will you be by tomorrow? I'll pay to make it up to you."
Male Human
Wait, this post was in gameplay this whole time? Weird. Something seems off here. Could I have been wrong? Ah well. The less people watching the apartment, the better. I should keep going. "A general phrase. 'My people' being a common one for an information source. Although it is interesting you bring up the killer. Lot of rumors floating about, but no-one has any idea who or what it is? We have a phantom floating around in our city. People think it's supernatural for Christ sake." Will starts chuckling at the last part. It is kind of absurd really. The realization almost strikes him mid-sentence. "I do dig the ponytail though. I can't do anything with this after it gets to a certain point." When are the other two/one gonna be in the building? Will's mostly just gonna filibuster for a while... Are that guys shades nicer than mine?

Before I can keep going, I still need an answer to this question. Am I still trying to cover somebody? If not, there's really no reason to continue trying to talk to these guys, since I couldn't even tell they were being shifty about the obvious thing they were shifty about. But if I am still doing the same as I previously was, I guess I should have rolled Deception, right? Players Handbook wrote:

This assumes the suits are sitting at a table. Dunno how important that is. Will nods "You know what to do." Then, leaving the car, the man walks with a slight saunter by the two eating. A minute or so goes by as he plays with his glasses. His body language reads as someone trying a little too hard to be inconspicuous. Eventually, he makes his way over to the men, and sits down on the opposite side of the apartments, and begins a conversation. "Hey, guys. How ya doin'? So... A pair of men in suits happen to wait across the street from the home of a recent murder victim for the second day in a row. My people are interested." From a slight distance his mannerisms become focused. Manipulation: 2d10 + 3 ⇒ (5, 3) + 3 = 11 Whee...

Mostly depends if they have curtains or not. Usually there's little space between the houses in a packed residential area of a city. Side note: We watch the watchmen. Will adjusts his tie in the car. He doesn't get out immediately. "I may have an idea. Mr. Jake, am I to assume you would have the skills needed to get into that apartment? Those two in the suits. You see them? My brother wears a ponytail too. I could keep their eyes off of you for at least long enough to slip inside. Ms. Freeman, I would ask you to stay out of sight, and kindly keep an ear out for a scuffle. I'm hoping they aren't careless enough to make a mistake like that, but if they do, I'll definitely need some assistance. Or better yet, a call to the police. What do we think?" The suitman of our own plans out his suggestion, shrugging while he retrieves his sunglasses. They're big, plastic, lime green and terrible looking against his expensive blue suit.
Male Human
"Regardless," Will tries to interrupt the two. "Mr. Maxhold sounds like the hardest to track down information on. Or at the least, the most likely to have someone monitoring who and what is trying to obtain that knowledge. And yet, I would be very surprised if no-one stood to benefit from Mr. Maxholds untimely end."
Male Human
"Which may mean the men we saw were undercover officers, unlikely I would think. They don't act so conspicuously. Or there is yet another interested party involved. You don't suppose they would be amiable to some co-operation?" He speaks of the event in a light-hearted tone. Apparently trying to keep the attention off of himself for the most part. "But, in the meantime, Mr. Adrien Ms. Delgado Ms. Freeman and I uncovered the remaining addresses of the victims, and one possibly useful detail. Our Mr. Herring had made a habit of skipping work for a couple of days each month, long and consistently enough for the company to take notice. If someone were to visit his address it may become clear to us what he had been doing. Perhaps our third lovely lady was able to follow her lead successfully?" Will refers, of course to Silvia Bond in a hopeful tone as he tries to shake himself awake. He's more sluggish than normal.
Male Human
Keep meaning to do that and getting sidetracked. I'll try and do that tonight, but with no price listed for things like a fake ID (and how would those of us without black market connections aquire the more shady items, anyway?) and no way to measure how effective the items would be, it's kind of hard to figure out exactly what to buy in the first place. Will post more later.

The early morning sun glares off the glass work on each surface as Will gets into his car, usually the worst part of his trip to work. But this time, the lawyer gives an abnormally long look at the church down the street as he passes it by. Otherwise, the only notable thing that he does is by some cheap sunglasses and a pair of leather gloves. For once, Will walks in late and with the same briefcase as last time. Doesn't look like he got much sleep last night. He does however have a copy of the newspaper with him. "Folks? What happened? Or would you rather not say?"
Male Human
"Hmm? Oh! Well, this bodes. How well or poorly, I guess we'll see." Will turns to the suits across the way to speak. "Can we help you gentlemen?" He offers a warm smile, though he can't shake the feeling that there seems to be something up. People: 1d20 ⇒ 6 Nevermind, this is completely normal. Everyone gets stared at by Agent Smith.
Male Human
Will offers an easy, subtle smile to the caretaker. Nothing overt, but noticeable. "Evening sir. My name's John Ada. I was wondering if we could speak with you about one of the residents around here? A Mr. Herring?" Do I roll Deception, or manipulation? Going with Manipulation. Manip.: 2d10 + 2 ⇒ (5, 5) + 2 = 12
Male Human
Will certainly doesn't let Wyatt's suspicions cause his voice to waver. "Good question. Going through other agencies causes an extra layer of paperwork we don't have the time to deal with. But no sir, I think that's all we need for today. Have a good day sir. I'll be in touch." And with that he hangs up. ...I'm sure everything's fine. "So, we have what we need I believe."
Male Human
Deception: 2d10 + 5 ⇒ (2, 7) + 5 = 14 Will glances to the others in the room for a moment. "Nice to speak with you Mr. Wyatt. My name's Maxwell Wesson. So, an explanation? At the moment, I'm working with an agent of the FBI, who, I'm sure you can guess wants to stay anonymous. We're trying to learn what we can about Mr. Lewis Herring. We are also given to understand that the police have followed proper procedures to close the files on Mr. Herring. I don't want to dig into the mans personal history, of course, but simple info like his address would be extremely helpful to us." I really hope this victims name isn't telling.
Male Human
"I've been asked to work with an agent to try and pull some more info where we can. If ya can put me on the horn with your boss, I'm sure we can get things squared away." A moment before the operator would speak he adds with a slightly quieter, yet still friendly ton of voice. "And hey. I know how all this sounds. I guess it's a lot to ask for a bit of trust from a stranger nowadays, huh?" That's a convenient typo, my eyes just glazed over it the first three times I read the post. Lemme know if there's a point where I can roll deception again, probably not, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
Male Human
"Ding ding." Will waves his finger at the (teleporting?) detectives suggestion. "My other options would run the risk of falling behind at work, which would make people start asking questions. That or trying to skulk around after hours, and that would be unwise at best. The best way to hide is to look like you are supposed to be there. I've already been asking about getting my first real case. I may as well use the excuse, right?"
Male Human
"...Alrighty then." Will clasps his hands for a moment. "Mrs. Bond, if you would, please try to see if our Mr. Maxhold had acquired any recent contacts before his demise. As for myself, I think perhaps I should do the same if I can get in contact with the families. Or maybe try out the supernatural angle after all. Though to be honest, if I pursue the latter option, I would rather go out myself."
