I am a new Pathfinder (PF) player and I have been having a lot of difficulty finding play-by-post (PbP) games that are new player friendly, and feel overwhelmed by the learning curve in order to keep up with the more experienced scenarios that are being run. With that in mind, I decided to try and make a positive contribution by learning how to DM/GM in the hopes that it will make soothe my itch to play PF.
Ideally, I am seeking other new/inexperienced players that would be willing to embark on this journey with me in a relaxed fashion. My long-term goal is to assist new players understand the game mechanics in a newbie friendly environment, whilst I learn how to DM/GM and hopefully increase the games’ speed by moving over to Roll 20 and hosting local PF campaigns in the future.
TL;DR:
1. I am a new PF player;
2. Would like to learn how to DM/GM PbP campaigns with the intention of moving onto virtual tabletop platforms (e.g. Roll20) and hosting local PF sessions;
3. Prefer to learn how to DM/GM with other friendly (read: not ass&*#$%) new/inexperienced players;
4. Intend to start with the Rise of the Runelords Adventure Path (or Beginner Box; see N.B. below);
5. Anticipate a minimum of one (1) DM/GM post/week, with a maximum of three (3) DM/GM posts/week;
6. As a DM/GM, I would like to allow for players to create back stories for their characters and bring them into the game. I intend to stick to the original campaign/scenario story/narrative, but will try my best to find ways of incorporating individual player back stories in order to provide meaningful, immersive experiences that facilitate individual players, and the party;
7. I would like to get to know, and grow with a group of people that would like to continue playing together for 1+ year(s) across multiple campaigns; and
8. I will only use official sanctioned Pathfinder Society (PFS) campaigns in order to ensure that our characters can be used in PFS sessions in the future. I will create official event IDs for each new session that I start.
N.B.: If there is enough interest, I can start by hosting Pathfinder Beginner Box PbP sessions and progress from there (i.e. Beginner Box Bash Demos, Part I: In Service to Lore, Part II: To Delve the Dungeon Deep, etc.)
