My half-orc rogue/cleric of Cayden Cailean died in that campaign, but left a bun in the oven of the Shelyn innkeeper, and was remembered as a hero!!
Rapiers down, cups up: The Heroes of Belhaim return after ending the dragon's machinations. People quickly see the party is missing one person. Talia rushes to the group, eyes swollen with tears, asking for Vors. Grilnik and Bethany tell the barkeep the sad news, and she breaks down in front of them. Through the sobbing, Talia reveals that she is pregnant, with Vor's child. A concerted effort is made by The Heroes of Belhaim and the townsfolk to recover Vor's body. The half-orc's funeral is given as much pomp and circumstance a small town like Belhaim can muster, buried with honors. Lady Kell and Talia give birth close to each other. The innkeeper gives birth to a noticably more human-looking half-orc boy, who takes his father's name. Above the small altar to Cayden Cailean in The Wise Piper hangs Vor's original rapier he brought from Oppara, where it is easily available when a few inn guests get too rowdy. Years later, Arnholde Origena, as a gift to Belhaim, commissioned a statue of Vors to be placed at his resting place. It's of the half-orc in a heroic pose with a plaque underneath: Here lies Vors Orcblood, one of the Heroes of Belhaim, who fell in service of the town that adopted him. He came as a stranger, and died a true caydenite. Raise your glasses high.

Lets see how this pans out. Hopefully Vors will at least keep up with the posts. Damn straight I will! I wanna see how this ends, hopefully in triumph.
@Nex. There might be a Option 5: scale down the adventure for three players. That way Brynn, Grilnik and Bethany won't seem so overwhelmed. Vors will return if resurrected, but for the safety of Belhaim, I'm just pointing out it would not be the most smart option.
Vors is dead. He won't argue if the team goes back to Belhaim to get him resurrected. But we leave the job unfinished, it will be 2x worse when we come back.
My current reasoning is this is the Final Assault. Going back to resurrect Vors would let the Dragon's forces know the party was there and killed one of their generals, which would lead to an all-out attack of Belhaim!
Wow. Vors is my first character that died on the forums, rather than the campaign stall and die.
I assume this grioth is much more powerful than the standard listed in d20pfsrd.com. I was wondering why this CR1 was giving us so much trouble.
Vors heal spell fizzles. "Godsdammit!" The half-orc cursed.
The caydenite looks up into the grinning maul and meeps, "Oh f#<k..!" Still holding Flametongue, Vors stabs upward while prone. The magical weapon sinks deep into the creature, the back of the grioth explodes with flame!!
As his half-orc blood boil to end this outsider, a small voice inside his mind keeps telling him to heal himself. Dropping one rapier to hold his holy symbol, Vors heals himself with cure light wounds.
Vors returns to consciousness and mutters, "Thanks, Grilnik." The roguish cleric gathers his weapons if nearby.
"F#<king..ow!" Vors mutters as the large fighter sliced deep into the half-orc's side. The roguish cleric's head began to swim. As his life blood was flowing out of his abdomen, the half-orc only had a quick thought. Well, f#,k this guy!!!
Vors brandishes both rapiers and charges up to attack the psionic humanoid, viciously striking it with one rapier while completely missing with the other!
Vors holds up his hand for the rest to stop. The half-orc goes ahead to scout what made the noise.
The half-orc just rubbed his chin as he thought. "The lieutenants can change positions at any time. First come, first serve, I guess. What do you think, sweep the lower floors, kill em' all nice a quiet then go up a floor?"
"Help us get inside and we'll take care of the dragon, then everyone can go back home."
"Yeah, spill", the half-orc grumbles at the traitor.
"Listen, guys", Vors said, stepping forward, sweating mentally. "It takes a WHILE to gather up the combined wealth of a spread-out population! We brought a 'down payment' as a sign of good faith. Beside it's hard to collect what is owned to The Great Aeterperax when it's melted by dragonfire and buried under a destroyed town!!"
Vors nods silently at the magus, understanding her delay tactic, and follows her lead.
"Okay, everyone. Stay low and keep quiet." The half-orc then begins his stealthy approach to the front gate.
"Okay", Vors whispered, looking to his companions. "I think now's as good a time as any. Let's go!"
The half-orc listens to Brynn's intel and poses a question. "Should we wait for dark to attempt a frontal entrance?"
If we can help Maffei, let's do it!
Vors has enough for the rings, but no time to shop for them now. It's something the half-orc doesn't want to rush through.
Busy week. Sorry.
"I think we were able to get everything we needed yesterday and from the tomb. After we stop by Maffei, I say we just march into the marsh and give that dragon what-for!" Grilnik says with a bit too much enthusiasm. Talia stands next to Vors as both greet Grilnik in the morning. Both lovers look at each other knowingly. "Yeah", Vors concedes, "we both came to the same conclusion last night." Sense Motive 11: Talia's face looks red and puffy, like she been crying for a long while, The innkeeper's eyes a red and raw. Her hand fiercely clutches Vor's hand next to her.
Vors would like to claim the wedding band..for no reason..really.I mean it.
With a sigh, Grilnik asks to no one in particular "when she said 'Please, take what you find here', she didn't mean the altar, did she?" "Nah!" Vors shrugged. "I don't don't think the dragonslayer's spirit or Aroden, for that matter, will mind." Vors sighs. "I swear to Cayden, if any other these statues come to life and try to kill us, I will defecate on the remains in this f#<king box!!" "I, for one, will be leaving something of myself here in this tomb." The half-orc walks back into the room with the dead fire dwarf and stands over the sarcophagus, and begins to unbuckle his pants. If the female members of the party are nearby, Vors adds, "I don't think anyone wants to see what happens next..so I meet you all up top."Vors Orcblood, cleric of Cayden Cailean and Opparan back alley rogue, drops a 'deuce' on the sarcophagus he stands upon.

Vors chagrins, "Yeah, Grilnik. We better leave the ranged attacks to the professionals". The half-orc holds the longsword, which then turns to a scimitar, and then a rapier, then back to a longsword. "Besides, I work best up close and personal."
Vors pats his pockets and finds Bassy's key and tries to open the mechanism.
Vors will examine the stone, looking for any traps or mechanisms that can be used to open the way.
Vors relays what he sees in the new chamber to the others, then walks across the walls back to the group.
Vors sits down and puts on the magical footwear, feeling his toes tingle with magic. As soon as the slippers are on, the half-orc begins to walk the walls, closer to the new opening to investigate.
Looking around the room, the half-orc asks Brynn, "Hey! Mind if I borrow those slippers of spider-climbing?"
"F#<k!" Vors cursed again. Let's double-back. We have to have missed something." The half-orc begins an focused examination of the stairs leading to the last room, in hopes of locating a secret door or something.
"The whole damn reason we're in this crypt", Vors grumbles. "To hopeful find anything that call help us deal with our 'dragon problem', be it weapons, magic, or just information. I really did not want to go through death room after death room for nothing!"
"Damn!" Vors cursed. "Nothing there. Everyone looks around! For anything out-of-the-ordinary!"
Unconcerned about the treasure, Vors looks around the room, looking for anything that might hold information about defeating dragons.
Vors stands between Grilnik and the wraith, regreting the undead can't be sneak attacked.
Vors is getting visibly more angry. "Slippery motherf#<ker's trying to get away!
