Vorrs's parents immigrated to Brevoy and settled outside of Restov. As a boy, Vorrs learned to work hard, hunt, fish, and live off the land. Life was hard, but Vorrs enjoyed it. The most serious problems were the raids from bandits, kobols, and other creatures from the Stolen Lands. Vorrs almost always wore armor and learned how to use bow and sword. At the age of 12, life changed for Vorrs when a bandit raid seriously injured his father. Their house was burnt down and they had to move to Restov where clerics of Erastil cared for his father. But the wound fever could not be cured and his father died several months later. Vorrs didn't really like living in the city, but he and his mother were able to live at an inn where she worked as a cook and cleaning maid. Vorrs continued to travel outside the city to hunt and sell the game to the local markets. By the time Vorrs turned 17, he was able to rent his own room and buy his own horse. He continued to hunt and sell game, but he began to grow restless. His hatred for the bandits of the Stolen Lands also continued to grow. When the charter to explore the Stolen Lands and drive out the bandits was announced, Vorrs could not resist this opportunity to avenge his father.
