2) Doesn't matter if someone higher-up is involved or who did what.
3) Doesn't matter if the person who kicked off the shit-show isn't being truthful or not. The shit-show has started.
4) The villagers are at the gates with pitchforks, *that's* what matters.
5) Hire a 3rd party who can fix this for you and let the chips fall as they may.
