Special Abilities
Northern Ancestry: You gain a +1 trait bonus on Fortitude saves, as well as cold resistance 2; this resistance does not stack with cold resistance gained from any other source.
Ustalvic Noble: You gain a +1 trait bonus on Diplomacy and Knowledge (nobility) checks. In addition, your starting money is increased by 100 gp— your “birthright,” such as it is.
Bastard: You gain a +1 trait bonus on Sense Motive checks, and Sense Motive is always a class skill for you.
Pride: When someone threatens, accuses, or challenges you, you take a –2 penalty on Diplomacy checks and Sense Motive checks involving that creature until the creature apologizes to you.
Duelist Stance: You gain a +1 dodge bonus to AC as long as you are wearing no armor or light armor, wielding a melee weapon in one hand, and your other hand is empty. This bonus increases by 1 for every 5 levels you possesses to a maximum of +5 at 20th level. This ability replaces the fighter’s 1st-level bonus feat.
Bravery: You gain a +1 bonus on Will saves against fear. This bonus increases by +1 for each four levels beyond 2nd.
Armor Training: You learn to be more maneuverable while wearing armor. Whenever you are wearing armor, you reduce the armor check penalty by 1 (to a minimum of 0) and increases the maximum Dexterity bonus allowed by your armor by 1. Every four levels thereafter (7th, 11th, and 15th), these bonuses increase by +1 each time, to a maximum –4 reduction of the armor check penalty and a +4 increase of the maximum Dexterity bonus allowed.

Mythic Abilities
Hard to Kill: Whenever you're below 0 hit points, you automatically stabilize without needing to attempt a Constitution check. If you have an ability that allows you to act while below 0 hit points, you still lose hit points for taking actions, as specified by that ability. Bleed damage still causes you to lose hit points when below 0 hit points. In addition, you don't die until your total number of negative hit points is equal to or greater than double your Constitution score.
Mythic Power: Each day, you can expend an amount of mythic power equal to 3 plus double your mythic tier (5/day at 1st tier, 7/day at 2nd, etc.). This amount is your maximum amount of mythic power. If an ability allows you to regain uses of your mythic power, you can never have more than this amount.
Surge: You can call upon your mythic power to overcome difficult challenges. You can expend one use of mythic power to increase any d20 roll you just made by rolling 1d6 and adding it to the result. Using this ability is an immediate action taken after the result of the original roll is revealed. This can change the outcome of the roll. The bonus die gained by using this ability increases to 1d8 at 4th tier, 1d10 at 7th tier, and 1d12 at 10th tier.
Sudden Attack: As a swift action, you can expend one use of mythic power to make a melee attack at your highest attack bonus. This is in addition to any other attacks you make this round. When making a sudden attack, you roll twice and take the better result, adding your tier to the attack roll. Damage from this attack bypasses all damage reduction.
Punishing Blow: Any opponent you hit with a melee or ranged attack loses the benefits of regeneration and fast healing for 1 round. In addition, if you score a critical hit against the target, it loses the benefit of its damage reduction for 1 round. A creature whose regeneration can't be suppressed or ignored (such as the tarrasque) is immune to this effect.

History:

Virgil is the illegitmate son of Count Magnus Ardelean of Ustalav and Anja Olofdotter, an ulfen serving girl. Magnus originally met Anja whilst part of a noble party venturing across Irrisen. Magnus was as smitten with the young womans fair beauty as Anja was charmed by the foreigners noble ettiquette. What began as a brief fling quickly escalated and when Magnus learnt Anja was pregnant he made the decision to whisk her back to his estate in the Immortal Principality. Virgil was born shortly after the group arrived back ino the fog-shrouded realm and despite Magnus and Anjas best efforts, came to the attention of Magnus wife, Countess Gabriela Ardelean. Surprisingly, the Countess did not hold Magnus infidelity against him. Unable to bare children herself, Gabriela knew how important the Ardelean lineage was to her husband. The three agreed that the Countess would act as if the baby were her own and raise him as the legitmate heir to the Ardelean name, whilst Anja would remain as the childs nanny. Gabrielas only request was that the affair between her husband and the ulfen maid came to an end. All parties agreed, and the Ardelean family publicly celebrated their 'firstborn'.

However, as is so often the case in Ustalav, things did not end happily. Despite their promise, Magnus and Anja continued their affair in secret. The Countess remained unaware, fuelling all her energy into raising the child. While Virgil was fond of his adoptive mother, he instinctively bonded with Anja. The youngsters 'nanny' would put him to bed every night with fantastical stories of her northern homelands. Over time Gabriela grew jealous of Anjas relationship with 'her' son and began to regret the agreement she had made. For years she requested that Magnus send the girl away so that they could be a normal family, but Magnus deflected the requests, not wishing to lose his northern love.

As Virgil grew his appearance began to mirror that of his biological parents, sharing his fathers fine, jet black hair and his mothers fair complexion. The more obvious it became that the child was truely not hers, the further Gabriela retreated into seclusion within the estate. The harder Virgil tried to communicate with his 'mother', the faster she withdrew. Magnus made a token effort to reach his wife, but his attentions were reserved for Anja and his son.

Matters came to an unpleasant end during Virgils late teens. Countess Gabriela had taken heavily to rich wines in her seclusion, frequently drinking herself into a stupor. One evening, when Magnus was hosting a dinner for several of his noble associates and his teenage son, the drunken Countess appearanced at the dinner, screaming the truth of Virgils heritage and her husbands ongoing affair. Magnus quickly dismissed his guests, and an argument between husband and wife ensued. Gabriela fled the dining room to her quarters, where she tragically hung herself, unable to deal with her life anymore.

The months that followed were traumatic for the young Ardelean. Dealing with the loss of his adoptive mother and his true heritage was painful enough. But as word spread, the backlash and shame that was levelled at his family in the wake of the scandal added insult to injury. Magnus attempted to defend Virgil from much of the distain that was directed at them, but the Counts influence was all but gone. In one final, desperate attempt to protect his beloved son, Magnus enrolled the youth at the University of Lepidstadt. Virgil had frequently displayed an interest in the duelists school, and the Count hoped that success there would mask the shame of his only sons illegitmate origins.

Eager to please his father and birth mother, Virgil agreed to attend the University and worked tirelessly while there. Thankfully, the young man proved to be a impressive swordsman, a skill which earned him several friends amoungst his fellow students. While the dark memories of home remained with Virgil, the University proved a welcome respite and allowed him to develop into a surprisingly well adjusted and popular young 'noble'. However, despite his best efforts he could never shake of the shame attached to his family name, a name he took pride in regardless of the public perception of it. When Virgil graduated from the Univeristy and earned his "Lepidstadt scar" he elected to travel the Inner Sea, prove his worth and regain the respect that he feels should be afforded to Ardelean family.
