Vinni gets annoyed at the lizardfolk that threw a snowball at his face. He takes a step back and casts a spell, then he studies the lizard-shaped wisp carefully.

So, I'm having trouble seeing things in the map. I may be looking at the wrong place, but in slide 1 I only see 2 lizards without color coding.

After such a trek, Vinni is a bit annoyed at his body for not fighting off the poison well. He immediately starts casting a spell.

Start casting Call Lightning. It's 1 round of casting, so I'll only be done next round.

While he is a bit suspicious of two lizardmen who conveniently want to help the baron and his troupe, Vinni doesn't say anything because he'd rather fight a horde of lizardpeople than more of those Will-o-wisps. He picks up the pace, trying to shake the poison off his body through sheer stubbornness.

@GM: That's ok. I am assuming things based on what we saw. Since I didn't invest in Spellcraft, I'll stick to assumptions. But in the future that Spellcraft will be missed, I'm sure.

I just noticed for Resist Energy, Communal I can split 10-minutes duration between different people. But the spell is 10 minutes/level, and I'm only level 5, so... I guess I and Moondancer are going to be taking the lightnings to the chest. It's fine, though, I have many bonuses to saves.

@GM: I looked into your rolls spoilers, I wanted to see myself fail the rolls. I'm sorry. But, I found maybe a mistake. You rolled my Will with +4, but it is +9. My Reflex is only +4. Would this mean that I am not shaken?

Vinni stubbornly pushes on. He is annoyed that his body is not fighting off the poison from the plants, but doesn't want to show weakness. He thinks it'd be best to strike now and not let the poison do more damage. He says "We should move soon. The longer we wait, the more this poison will get to us."

Just before moving out, he enchants his quarterstaff.

Vinni replies to Saoirse "Well, as much as I want to brag about my tracking abilities and my... helping spectacles", he taps the spectacles he's wearing which seem to be helping him track. He continues "it will be fairly obvious when we find a large group of lizardfolk's tracks. Unless they're all druids, of course, hehehe. Anyway, right now I don't see anything, which means that not even their hunters go as far as here. We might as well make our way slowly towards the ruins as the baron suggests. We can assume they've been here for many days already, so there's no rush."

He stops his line of thought to consider something, then says "Well, I think it's important for me to know, baron. What is our priority in this mission? To get rid of this false god, or to try and reunite the female lizards and their eggs with the young chieftain we talked to yesterday? What happens if they use the eggs as hostages, do we back off, or do we push forward? I need to know so we're on the same page before... anything happens."

Vinni has heard of some druids who didn't follow instructions and got poisoned by stinging nettles. That made him particularly wary of such plants, and helped him not get interested in the careful craft of herbalism.

I suppose Profession (herbalism) would be necessary to handle this plant correctly?

Vinni says "There are spells that protect against this poison, but I focused on different spells this morning. I suppose we have to find the lizardfolk now. Allow me."

Vinni wakes early and his face shows he had a rough night. He nods at whoever is awake at that time, then sits with his legs crossed on top of a rock to meditate. He thinks of his dream, wondering if it's a warning or just the wanderings of an aging mind.

During his meditation, he thinks "We are in Torawsh, the start of autumn. I suppose autumn leaves are appropriate. However, the rest of the world calls this Rova, the month of destructive Rovagug. I bet the chaos god doesn't care much about comings and goings of a small lizardmen's village. Or does he? If death comes, let me be part of the autumn leaves." He replaces his thoughts with that of his body being swept by the autumn breeze.

I've slightly changed my prepared spells list. Removed Spider Climbed and prepared another Burst of Radiance. I figure I have enough help in the water with summons if we need help then.

As they set out to navigate to the island, he is uneasy on the boat and stays silent. He keeps thinking of his dream and even ignores the interesting gnomish machinery. He breaks the silence during the ride to say "I've had a troubling dream. I was walking over autumn leaves when a looming shadow rose above me. I can't make it out, but thought you should know, in case this is a warning from nature and not my own mind making me scared."

As they arrive near the shore, he jumps in last and attempts to swim.

Swim, ACP -1: 1d20 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (13) + 2 - 1 = 14

During his swim, he tries grabbing Riilka if he finds her to pull her out of the water. However, he has a plan if he fails.

If my swim roll isn't enough to save Riilka, I'll cast Animal Aspect with Otter aspect to swim and rescue her. If I need a second roll, it's in the spoiler below. Cast Animal Aspect in case second roll is needed and it isn't enough.

Vinni comments "That would be wise. From what I've learned of these waters, there might be something in the water. If we are to hire someone to ferry us, we might need to ensure them we can repel water creatures as well. I might need to rethink my natural spells for this during my morning meditation."

He combs his shortened beard with his hand and says "Otherwise, I think we have a destination and a plan."

Vinni studies the map carefully. He has studied the land with detail and hopes to find something to add to the discussion.

He also mentions "At least we don't have any doubts of what we'll encounter. We can guarantee we'll find resistance. However..." He stops to think more strategically then says "Saoirse, can you please ask the chieftain about the Lizardfolk that went on this excursion? Typically, in a community, some people do things out of peer pressure even if they disagree with the actions taken. Some may still be swayed, especially if they see how fruitless their destination is."

Vinni approaches, using his new quarterstaff a bit as a walking stick, but more because he thinks it looks cool than any actual usefulness. He hears the discussion with the chief and admires how Saoirse is able with diplomacy. He wonders how he would approach this and realizes he would much more direct, which would be stupid.

He decides to observe the lizardfolk's way of living and how it would differ from a typical human town.

Vinni watches the scene with care and follows. He carries his new quarterstaff ready to use it against any threat, although if he doesn't have a chance to magically enchant it, he will drop it in no time. He walks, wondering whether lizards became lizardmen through natural processes or if there was a magical mixing of men and lizards for this effect.

Adding some fluff to give my character some stuffing.

As they travel, Vinni thinks a bit about life. He is impressed at how far humans can get with so short a lifespan. He tries guessing Andreas' age and imagines he must not be more than 30 years old. He then remembers where he was at that age.

His parents were very busy running a shop, so he spent most of his time with his uncle Peddah, who was more of a free spirit. He was the crafter in the family and his role was to produce the weapons that the family sold in the business. But his crafting dedication was more for pride in his production than an actual sense of duty.

Just by being this way, uncle Peddah taught Vinni that it's impossible to judge a person's motives just by watching what they're doing. His uncle was an extremely focused crafter. But to any outsider, this could be easily mistaken as the typical dwarven sense of duty to his family, when in reality uncle Peddah couldn't care less about the business.

These lessons were strengthened in his time with the druids. There are many limitations to the druidic life, regarding how one interacts with nature. There are even limitations regarding what type of armor a druid wears and teaching the secret druidic language. The typical person believes that druids follow these tenets due to their extreme dedication to nature. However, most druids he met only follow these rules because they would otherwise lose many of their powers. Only the most powerful druids and leaders actually revered nature fevorously. That made him wonder if these things are related.

He wakes from his daydream to look again at Andreas. All these lessons he has learned when he was about twice the man's age. Still, the baron seems to carry much wisdom. He wonders if humans experience life faster than a dwarf, or if there's more suffering, which expedites learning. He takes a sip of water, breaking his train of thoughts. He's sure he's going to learn these secrets with time.

Vinni seems worried after hearing the story. He says "So, I expect you have great diplomatic skills, baron, sir. It looks like we should avoid a fight with them, especially if we expect to fight the will-o-wisp."

Vinni gets himself a room in the inn. He takes some time to meditate and listen to the wind, while sitting outside. He finds it hard to concentrate with so many people coming and going, so he grumbles and moves a bit farther from civilization. On the way, he chuckles at the irony. He both likes the city for its commerce and sounds of iron on iron, but he cannot stand to be near it for the lifestyle he chose for himself.

In the morning, he communes with nature again, preparing a set of spells for the fight to come.

If everyone has their own little piece of land, it'd create an unique version of the game. Sounds fun!

About the ring and cloak, I have one of each, so I don't benefit from them, but they should definitely be used. Unless everyone has a cloak of resistance or they have a magic cloak they really want to keep, they should be getting it.
