Male Human Paladin 3

"I agree Lazarus it is an inauspicious start to our mission. And the timing of the assault was far too convenient. Someone doesn't want us to succeed and that bears mindin whilst we carry out our orders."

After having seen the ship they were to travel upon Vincent's brow creases as he looks to Waynir.

"Good Captain a question, how long will it take us to reach our destination by way of your vessel? I'm worried about how Roland and Dayspring will respond to a long ship voyage though they did very well on the way out here."

Elora has posted with a situation that has arisen in the ooc forum, her workload is also climbing steadily since she works for a church and it's that time of year where they get busy. We'll try to keep pace with the group but i'll have the easier time.

Male Human Paladin 3

Vincent keeps an eye on his comrades for the remainder of the journey and rides close by the wounded horse in case it may need more attention.
Perception 11+2=13
Noticing th lack of sails and mast on the ship Vincent sidles up to Armand.

"What a strange ship no mast, no sails, how does the thing move about."

Male Human Paladin 3

sorry guys yesterday was Thanksgiving so Armand and I were running around seeing family all day

Vincent looks dismayed at the thought of having to put down the injured beast.

"I'll deal with the horse."

Vincent pulls the Vampyre's body away from the injured animal and attempts to calm it down so he can get close enough to actually do something to it.

I have no qualms busting out my remaining lay on hands to try and bring the horse back up to walking status or at least limping, so Vincent is going to attempt a heal check 1d20+2=18 if lay on hands will help get it to the point where it could walk back to town then Vincent will do so Lay on hands x3 3d6=13

Male Human Paladin 3

Vincent follows the rest of the group and unsheathes his sword upon sighting the blasphemous monstrosity grasping the fallen horse. He moves to the front of the group to be in position should it rise up and attack it'll have to go through him first. Looking at his compatriot he makes a decision.

"Well there's only one thing to do eh lads?"

And with that Vincent strides forward and jabs at the demonic form, unsure of it's status of alive or dead. if it's dead vincent will begin disentangling the horse so he can attempt to heal it Handle Animal 1d20+8=19

"Easy there horsey no need to be so spooked we'll get you outta there."

Male Human Paladin 3

Vincent raises an eyebrow and considers the punishments dictated by law for attempted murder, it typically ends with hanging if he recalls as he looks down at the rope he's gathered from amongst the belongings in the cart.

"We're not that far out from town we can always just keep their weapons when we set them loose. A long walk back on foot should be enough to give them time to think about acting without evidence."

It may be best to guide the lad to a more merciful path than most nobility after all brutality and fierce enforcement of the laws never won a king back his throne in the stories. Having voiced his part Vincent sets the rope back in the cart and opts not to mention the punishment for attempted murder.

Male Human Paladin 3

"A moment Brunt let me take a look at that cut. You took it in service to our cause and fought alongside us, we'd be poor companions to let you wander about bleeding everywhere."

Vincent stretches down to lay a hand upon the wound. As he rests his hand upon the open gash he seeks inside himself for the source of warmth and peace that is taught to those who are Dovesmen and pushes the warm energy up from his hidden well of power and out through his hand into the still bleeding cut. Lay on hands 1d6=3

"I hope that helps Brunt."

Vincent turns then rides over to the sleeping soldier and sidles Roland up alongside.

"Glad to help Master Quint. You may be of better service helping Sir Armand in questioning our still conscious prisoner, I've heard that bards can be quite persuasive."

Vincent proceeds to strip the sleeping man of his weapons and shield. He moves to bind his arms when a thought takes him.

"Does anyone have any rope?"

Male Human Paladin 3

"Brunt if you'd be so kind pick up the man's sword."

Vincent holsters his lance and sidles up alongside the surrendering swordsman.

"I'm glad you've the common sense to surrender too many men throw away their lives for no reason. Come along I'm sure milord would like to hear why you and your comrades set upon us."

Vincent will escort the brigand down to the rest of the group at the cart. Vincent is unconcerned that the man may run, after all he's unmounted if he tries to make a break for it the futility of his feeble attempt to escape would dishearten stronger men.

Male Human Paladin 3

"I'll help our new found friend behind us go help the the ones on the cart sir." With those words Vincent rears Roland and heads back to help Brunt.

Double move puts Vincent about 10 feet away from brunt so next round he can move in and assist the sailor out.

Male Human Paladin 3

We got back in yesterday hurray 12 hours of driving.

Vincent spares a brief second to glance at the fallen bandit before spurring Roland down the trail after the rest of his comrades. Vincent spurs his mount to a gallop and barrels down upon another rider.

if they're 90 feet away that puts them within his 100 feet charging area, I believe from the way it's been described Vincent can get a clear shot to one of the riders probably not the one that Lazarus is staring so intently at.

Thinking it best to take one alive and wounded Vincent lowers his lance aiming for the brigand's weapon and commanding Roland to kick the rider. Vincent puts his back into the strike hoping to leave his foe weaponless in one pass. Vincent declares Power Attack

Ride check to let Roland kick 1d20+2=17

Sunder attempt with Power Attack 1d20+8-1=26 (not sure if +2 from charging applies but if it does it's a 28)

Roland's kick 1d20+6+2=15

damage if things hit I think imp sunder adds 2 to your damage attempt as well for sundering so it should be 2d8+6(lance)+2(imp sunder)+2(power attack)=18 I did the math for power attack as a 1 handed weapon not two. Roland's kick is Roland's kick 1d6+5=7 If Lazarus is singing during this event all the numbers go up by 1 I think that I go before him though.

Male Human Paladin 3

Lance 2d8+6=11

1d6+5=11

I figured it would be prudent to wait and see if I hit before i gave you damage. And once more my horse kicks more ass than I do.

Male Human Paladin 3

Vincent watches the horsemen split their numbers and makes a decision. Vincent spurs Roland forward towards the men advancing on the right gathering speed for a devastating charge. He sets his sights on the rider closest to the cart, he aims his lance for the riders chest betting that his opponent isn't exactly schooled in the art of mounted combat. As Vincent drives his lance forward at his opponent he gives Roland the command to attack.

"Roland kick!"

1d20+6=15 Woops I messed up forgot to put in the +2 from a charge attack so it's actually a 17 my b.

1d20+6+2(charge)=26I remembered to factor in the charge that time my horse kicks more ass than I do. Vincent has a roll of Ride check 1d20+2=10 which is just enough to allow Roland to Attack at the same time he does.

Male Human Paladin 3

Initiative 1d20+1=20

If the riders continue towards us in an aggressive fashion Vincent will charge a rider with the lance. During our surprise round he'll set the lance and ready to charge.

Vincent calls out "I suggest you gentleman halt your approach and state your business otherwise it might be construed as unfriendly, and we wouldn't want that now would we lads."

Male Human Paladin 3

Vincent hearing Waynir's question to Brunt turns towards the source of his consternation. Once he spots the men on horseback he falls to the back of their small group to position himself firmly between the motley crew and the men approaching on horseback. He loosens the lance in the holster so that he may lower it and engage them if the need arises.

"What are the odds that those men are bandits? We're only a short distance from the town things couldn't be that bad out here could they?"

Male Human Paladin 3

As the group emerges into the yard Vincent makes a bee line for his gear on the back of the cart. Immediately he begins to start donning his Banded Mail scanning the area for any signs of danger to his young master.

"Armand, sir, you'd put my mind at ease if you put your shirt on."

Once his armor is completely on he proceeds to strap his shield to his back and his sword back on his waist. As soon as he's fully geared up again Vincent seems much more at ease with a sword by his side once more. Vincent gathers their horses and proceeds to wait until Armand is mounted before mounting himself.

Male Human Paladin 3

FW, Armand:
"Milord I'll do all that I can to keep him safe until we return." Vincent seems slightly concerned about the situation that his charge has been thrust into. "Sir Dougal, are any of the lesser clans friendly towards the Marquis? If things get too heated it would be good to know who we can turn to for a few additional swords."

I'm not going to follow out the Earl and his men, I should have Detected Evil off the bat haven't played a paladin in forever. What's the good of an at will ability if you don't use it all the time.

Male Human Paladin 3

Vincent eyes the new comers warily making sure to remain near young Armand. The feeling of being vulnerable without his gear seems to be growing by the minute. As Dougal rushes from the room Vincent moves closer to the Marquis to join Lazarus and Talfen.
"Easy lads let's try and figure out if it'll do any good to toss around magic, as the way things are going we all may need it soon enough."

Imade a heal check heal check 1d20+2=18 to see if I know what the marquis is suffering from. As I observe him Vincent is going to take his hand and pop a lay on hands lay on hands 1d6=4 to try and remove fatique and maybe give him the strength to continue through the meeting. After all being sick can leave a man weary and tired.

After assessing whether or not his meager skills at healing will be of use Vincent turns to the Earl and his men. Vincent begins to study them judging their hearts instead of their words. I detect evil I can do both the Earl and Gole in round 1 with move actions and round 2 will be the older knight. Better safe than sorry.

Male Human Paladin 3

Vincent had listened intently to the briefing and was considering how best to keep Armand safe whilst gallivanting about the troubled island when the door burst open. Leaping quickly to his feet Vincent interposes himself between Armand and the mewling lad storming towards the lord Burnd making sure to keep his body betwixt the two.

Not sure if Vincent recognizes the heraldry of the young man Knowledge Nobility check is d20+4

Male Human Paladin 3

Vincent follows the group to the table and pulls a chair out for his young lord seating Armand close to the end near the balcony before seating himself beside him. He glances at the table before settling for a glass of water and an apple. He chuckles at the gnome's fleeting grin
"Old Horse? At least it's closer to the truth than a strapping lad. I might as well be an old horse considering how long I've been roaming about. My name is Vincent well met."
Vincent reaches out to clasp Lazarus' arm before returning to the events at hand.

Upon the Marquis being wheeled to the table, Vincent is quite shocked to see him in such a state the last time he had set eyes upon the noble he had been old yes but not feeble to the point of needing a wheelchair. Vincent glances quickly down at Armand to see how he reacts before turning his attention back to Marquis Burnd.

Male Human Paladin 3

Vincent's eyebrow quirks up at the gnome's inquiry as to how they know the marquis. He looks from half-elf to gnome and then to his lord. In a deep gravelly voice that seems more accustomed to shouting orders over the din of battle rather than exchanging pleasantries in the halls of the nobly born he comments
"Strapping young lad? I haven't been referred to as a lad in well on 20 years now and I consider myself far from young and strapping."

Male Human Paladin 3

The oldest of the five, and probably the tallest as well, stands in a military rest next to the other young gentleman. At an impressive 6'4" the older man towers over the younger one next to him in a manner almost reminiscent of a mother bear towering next to her cub. Eyes the color of soil peer out from under dark eyebrows on a face worn and weathered by the sun and rain scanning here and there taking in his surroundings as if he were one of the Burghers by the door. Dressed in a tunic and leggings of simple homespun wool the man looks as though he belongs on a farm not here in the halls of nobility. His left hand heavily calloused from hard work periodically grazes his waist area as if expecting something to be there for it to rest upon, and he looks mildly uncomfortable as if something is missing. Whenever his glance falls upon the boy next to him his face softens just ever so slightly in an almost paternal fashion before it returns to it's normal guarded mask.

He glances at the others awaiting an audience with the Marquis and wonders what reason there could be to gather such an eclectic group.

Male Human Paladin 3

as for my tag I've actually had it done for 3 days.... I kinda burn through char gen I just haven't spent his flow.
