That's not evil, it's the crimelord choice. Unless he wants them to die, it's naive at worst.

I would say killing the crimelord would not be evil. Maybe offering him to fight for his life allowing to use a weapon would be the most paladin thing to do. Another option would be to let the crimelord go and stay with the family until they are attacked, and kill the atackers in self defense. Also, you can tie and carry the crimelord as a prisoner until you find something better to do with her.

Best thing for you is the first one, I think. Challenge her to a duel, end her life there in the most paladin way possible without changing your alignement.

But as others already said, it is definitely not deserving a good-to-evil change. To neutral, at worst, and still I would say it would be a warn at most. If it is against the deity of the character, I would make them do something for redemption or face the consquences, but definitely not making the character illegal.

So I'm trying to build a paladin/mysterious stranger. I've been reading about the build but didn't find one that suits me.

I would start with 15 points and level 5, and probably human.

My main concern is how many levels of gunslinger (mysterious stranger) are worth taking? I've seen builds dipping one single level on gunslinger, but I find higher level deeds, at least on the paper, attractive. I think a 5/15 build (or even 7/13) would be nice for taking some fancy deeds and stranger's luck, but having to actually get through those levels seems like a long shot (pun intended) and I don't actually know the actual value of those opposed to getting the highter paladin levels, which personally I don't find terribly interesting, although having more and better smite evils is always a nice thing.
It may sound like I've already made up my mind, but I would really appreciate to read the opinion of more experienced peopled.

Also, which weapon would you recommend to pick? It's my first time playing with PF guns, so I don't really have a clue.

Thanks.

Hi there.

Few months ago I started a evil character themed campaign. So far so good, but my players recently stated their interest in a heavily guarded artifact. I think it would be a nice change of peace to make something "Ocean's eleven" style, with a heavier focus on planning, rather than combat and/or stealth (with some of that, too, of course).

So far I've decided to design several entrances, encourage disguises and maybe some traps.

I'm not looking for any specific ideas or pre-designed levels (even though they could serve as inspiration) but more about general advice on how to do this.

Any advice you could share to design an interesting level would be welcome. Thanks.
