About Vigor Stonemason

Background:

Orphaned at birth Vigor was raised in a family of halfling stone masons. Vigor was carrying mortar and digging fieldstone before he was 10. Of course by 10 he was almost as large as his adopted halfling father. The Not the eldest, but the largest son of a large family living outside the protection of any walls Vigor became protective of his extended family and began to learn to defend them. As he aged he became more and more aware of the differences between himself and his adopted halfling family. And this led to stress in his already stressful adolescent years.

At 16 his father gave his blessing for Vigor to join the local militia. This provided the order and training Vigor craved. From there he moved to more formal military training and after mustering out he began to sell himself as a bodyguard to the highest bidder. Working in such capacity for a holy man of Abadar he went adventuring for the first time - and he was hooked. Not only was it exciting, but it was lucrative.

Appearance:

Vigor is stout of build with brown curly locks. His eye are green and a little too close together for him to be handsome. He has grown comfortable over the years wearing armor and usually is seen in some kind of protective garb. He is never seen without his trusty spiked shield, which he has named Thorn. He has taken to wearing a cloak lined in the colors of whoever he is working for at the time; no extra charge.

Party Role:

Vigor is build to be the center of the party. His high AC and ability to defend his companions makes him suited for this roll. While quite defensive, his enchanted shield inflicts great sword damage to his targets and he can knock people about when he needs to. This helps him control the melee battle space. He is quick for a man his size and his armor training helps him move comfortably in the heaviest of armors.

Personality:

Vigor is more interested in the mission that doing what is right most of the time. Once he signs on to something he sees it though. His word is his contract. He has moral limits to what he will do for coin, but he is not above committing crime for his employer if paid appropriately. He is more rigid than kind and loves a well planned and executed mission more than any entertainment he might purchase.
