Silver Skein
Aura Moderate Conjuration; CL 7th
Slot None; Price 1500 gp; Weight 1/2 lbs.
Description

The silver skein is a translucent ball of coiled thread. When tied to an object with a fixed location, such as a door, tree, or dagger planted in the ground, the skein turns ethereal, remaining visible only to the holder. The skein spools out on the ground behind the holder, leaving a trail she can follow back to the original location where it was tied down.

As a standard action, the holder can pull on the silver skein to teleport herself and any touched objects or willing creatures to the location where the skein was originally tied (as dimension door). Once used in this manner, the skein fades from existence.

The silver skein is functionally infinite in length as long as the holder remains within 650 ft of the location where it was tied. If the skein is severed or the object it is tied to is moved, the skein returns to the holder undamaged.

Construction
Requirements Craft Wondrous Item, Dimension Door; Cost 750 gp

First of all let me state I am not an avid poster, but have been following the contest for years and I no way planned to post this year, but unfortunately during the final round I found myself annoyed enough to post.

This is a design contest of for the best designer pure and simple. Unfortunately this year Matt McGee was repeatedly dinged by the judges because a similar module was going to be released in the near future. That has no place within the structure of this contest. I understand this is a Paizo run contest and having similar products are sub-optimal, but if you name a contest "RPG Superstar" and use it as a marketing ploy you have to stick with it and vote for the best proposal.

At this point this is no longer a contest about who had the best module and about which module fits best into Paizo's release schedule. I suggest if that is the case the contest name is changed to Paizo Superstar or Golarian superstar to reflect the true nature of the contest.

Anyway that was my 2 copper and I hope my criticism is actually taken seriously and not seen as troll or a reason to start a flame war.

Ok... First of all I liked this one the best, because despite a couple flaws that could be easily hashed out during design I think this holds the most promise by far. Time storms, pirates, sunken island, and a weird ooze thing all really good.

The second part, which honestly saddens me a little that I have to point out, is that this is a contest and should be treated as the best one gets the vote. The fact you are saying Paizo has products lined up along these lines and because of that you should not vote for it is against the purpose of the contest. Vote for the best period, because it is the best design / proposal that should win period and not because it some how fits into paizo's release schedule.
