Call me old fashioned, but it gets me a little bit riled up that a player would be reading the Bestiary in enough detail to get the impression he can pick races from there. It's GM book, end of story. Unless this guy is running a game of his own, he oughtn't to be reading it at all.

You are forgetting, perhaps, that people playing wizards with specialization in conjuring and other assorted classes may NEED to be familiar with the beastiary so that they can summon their monsters? Of course they should only be looking at the monsters in their spell lists...

That said, I think it has to be up to you whether or not this violates your faith. If role playing a religious ceremony to the in game gods makes you uncomfortable, then maybe it really isn't for you (or you need to re-evaluate religion in your game). Some people really get into their characters and I could see some people getting uncomfortable with a certain level of blasphemy.

I agree with you there, Kolokotroni. When I play PF or any role-playing game, I just remind myself that God is greater than all of this and that He knows what is in our hearts as we play these characters. Playing priests and thinking about how they worship their gods is lots of fun. I even role-play my priests calling out to their patrons in prayer. And then when I pray to God later, I laugh with Him and talk with Him about the game I played. Sometimes I will even -gasp!- ask Him for some inspiration with a character! (Oh- and did I mention I am a conservative Christian?)

I always get frustrated by this issue as I would like to play a non-evil caster who raises dead. I would only do this during a battle to raise someone fallen to protect those who are still living. I would much rather use a corpse to fight to prevent more death and keep innocents or my allies safe as we battle our enemies, than to let more innocents or my friends die because raising undead is considered "evil". I would like to be able to animate dead to help fight the battle and save lives, then destroy the undead I created and give them a proper burial if they were friendlies.

I would recommend, at the very least, that you get the parents of the kids to sign some sort of release form. Also let them know that they are welcome to drop in and watch at any time, so long as they remain quiet. If they have questions, allow them to e-mail or call you with them. I would also point out that in the fantasy realm God does not exist, that the realm has pretend gods that the CHARACTERS may worship. (The mention of God for any parents that may freak to discover their kid's character is a worshipper of some false, make-believe god.) Make sure that everyone who plays the game understands that the game is a game, not reality. I think that would pretty much cover your butt.
