Varro is in many ways your typically Varisian adventurer. Hailing from a group of wandering gypsies, Varro's interest of magic was fostered through numerous 'aunts' and 'uncles' of various magic traditions. The most influential of these was Senoia- a Fire Elemental Sorceress.
While not possessing an 'innate' ability for magic, Varro was highly intellegent and studied the few magical tomes that he could 'acquire.' In time, his magical abilities grew and eventually came to the attention of some of the 'performers' of his clan, who bid him to learn the art of fire-juggling and other feats of legerdemain (coins, cards, etc.) in order to help 'support' his friends and family.
Varro has no qualms about stealing, particularly from those who appear to have much 'more' than they need- but he is not a thug. Instead Varro is gregarious, light-hearted and generally good-natured. He is as comfortable listening to a baudy tale as he is pouring through a collection of old tomes... and if a beautiful woman is near, that trumps everything else.
