As he stubs his toe on a rock and yells "ouch!"...It's gotten to be almost comical how bad Variel's rolls are.

Variel thinks to himself,Hmm...regular bomb won't work, so let's see how this does.

Round 1:

Actions:
Seeing Brother Kendrick ready to channel the power of his diety, Variel will delay until just after Kendrick. If at that point any enemies are still standing, Variel will toss a vial of acid at an intersection behind a skeleton, with the one facing Kendrick being the primary target if both are still up. (AC 5, only 5 splash damage DC 14 Reflex to avoid) in order to reduce the miss chance and risk associated with throwing a splash weapon into meele.

Attack:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damage = 5 acid (DC 14 Reflex to avoid)

Variel pokes his head into the stairwell to listen for anything that might be up on the next level.

"Me and my shish-ke-bobbed spleen thank you." Variel says rubbing the spot where the javilin went in.

"Well, we might as well see what all the fuss is about."the alchemist says, standing up and heading for the formerly trapped door.

"I can give it a try, as long you're ready to heal my wounds should things not go so well." Variel quips with a half-grin on his face.

Is that to say that the javalin is easily visible from the room we are currently in? If that is the case I assume it would fairly easy to disarm?

Just for information's sake, to make a opponent surrender via intimidate is usually a 1 minute action. Used in a combat round you can give them the shaken condition.

Variel will throw the bomb at the Trog in G11, using the splash weapon mastery feat I will add square I11 to the splash area (DC 14 Reflex save to avoid 5 splash damage).

Attack:1d20 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 - 2 = 13 (vs. touch AC, penalty for sickened applied)
Damage:1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 (fire damage)

After taking his shot, Variel will 5ft step back to L8 to get out of everyone else's way.

"Urgh", Variel groans, feeling ill from the stench, "I think I have something a bit better this time." as vial of catalyst begins to glow.

Mastermind, I'll give you attack rolls and damage after I see the map so I know where I'm shooting for with the bomb.

With that Variel opens the door and readies to lob a bomb into the room if that appears necessary.

After seeing how the lizard responds to the warrior, Variel thinks, The lizard could end up being a pretty cool pet...

I assume that the lizard is approaching to attack, or is this a poor assumption?

Don't forget to take your armor check penalty into account when you make the check (-4 for scalemail and an additional -2 for the shield if you have it equipped when you make the check)

Looking over the rest of the group, "We might be able to do so, but it would be a risk, the armor most of you are wearing isn't real helpful when climbing, but I'll give it a shot if everyone else is willing."

Variel looks around to find something to tie off a rope and then lowers the rope down to the others. "Here, use this rope to help you climb up."

EDIT: Wow, that would have been ineffective even if I would have come close to hitting the spider.

"Well this western passage appears to be a total loss, since speed is of the essence. Do we want to stay in the same "marching order" that we were in, or do you want me to go first? My elven heritage would allow me to see a bit farther in the darkness than human eyes."

Variel nervously looks around the gapping hole in the side of the tower.

"We could try and climb upto the higher levels, though I'm not sure of how good of an idea that is....we don't look like the nimblest of crews that I've seen."

In an attempt to prove his worth to his new companions...

"Hold on a second, let me check out these passageways."

Variel then tries his sneaky best to gather a bit of information about each passageway, starting with the west while Brother Kendrick scrambles toward the north.

West passage:
