Vanya is tall young man, 21 years of age, with light brown hair, almost blond in fact, usually clean shaven and with wolfish blue-green eyes. Standing 6'3'' tall and weighing about 200 lbs, he makes impressive figure in his black leather-and-mail armor and wolf skull pendant, which he tends to wear openly when not on duty. The story of his acceptance in the Guard is strange one. One day he came to the capital of Aviona, with a letter for the commander of the King's Guard. He was accepted, no questions asked. The Guard captains even tolerated his non-regulation blade - a strange slightly curved sword with serrated back and basket hilt in the form of two intertwined dragons amidst blackthorn brambles. He always kept himself slightly apart from the rest of the guards, and that bread resentment. His frequent absences from the regular duties made that even worse. What his companions in the Royal Guard did not know is that he was being used for "special assignments", since his lack of emotional ties in the Capitol made him excellent choice for doing dirty work. That, and something from his past, is what has driven this young man to drink. His first summer in the Capital he made a plum brandy that he called sliwovitz. He shared it with other guardsmen, but they used it for scouring rust from their armor, it was so strong. Soon, he was rarely seen not intoxicated. But even drunk, his skill with the blade was evident. One night, while exiting a brothel hidden in a dark alley, he was ambushed by several footpads. Barely managing to escape with his life, he realized that he made an enemy to many. He got on his horse and left the city, going who knows where...
