About Valerius RexCHARACTER SUMMARY:

Roughly twenty five years ago, Valerius was born to Nikolai and Lena Rex, owners of the Circle-O Ranch on the South East outskirts of Torch, Numeria. He is the oldest of (7) children, 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Since the Circle-O ranch is on the outskirts, everyone is armed and everyone is taught how to use a firearm safely and deadly accurate. Of course, children do not start off with gun powder nor energy weapons but with low strength crossbows and sling guns, then work gradually up from there. The Circle-O ranch sales high quality mounts for Torch and for adventurers by Valerius' mother, Lena. In addition, Valerius' father is a gunsmith and gun craftsman. When Nikolai is ready to make a batch of guns, usually high-powered gun powder firearms, he talks to Mr. Dolga at the Dolga Foundry to submit an order. A small part of the batch goes to the Circle-O, part of the batch goes to the militia, and the remaining is sold to various customers. Of course being the child of a rancher means you also learn how to ride a horse and are forced into being a ranch hand which is what happened to Valerius. After young Valerius was done with his daily ranch hand chores, he hung out with his father learning about gun crafting, gunsmithing, and advance shooting. Later into Valerius' teenage years, Nikolai would bring out his energy weapons for Valerius to shoot. The cliff side of Torch made a perfect berm and backstop even for energy weapons. Once a month, Nikolai would bring young Valerius to the junkyard on the North East of Torch to search for skymetal and other things to build prototype gun powder, energy firearms, and other gadgets that were discarded either purposely or on accident. One time, Valerius found a book on the Androffan language that had been discarded in a pile of other odds and ends. He brought the book to Khonnir Baine to sale before he disappeared but in turn the wizard-scholar taught Valerius the Androffan language. Later, he found a page that appeared to be from some Androffan equipment manual which had this picture on it. This started to set in motion what Valerius was going to do in life, to become an Androffan-Golarion warrior mixing hi-tech with magic, renamed Wired-Magus. Of course, the various technology, androids, robots, and other tech that has been found and observed were also part of the catalyst for Valerius' chosen life path. From that point on, Valerius joined the ready response militia to learn about all ancient armaments, continue working with his father, found an interest in magic which he was learning from Khonnir Baine until he disappeared, started working at the junkyard, and still found a fraction of the day to help his mother. As time passed into adulthood, he practiced in combining his arcane prowess along with his martial prowess, and his knowledge of technology into the Wired-Magi martial art he has been concocting since he found the picture of the Power Armor artifact. Of course, he is still in the process of learning and it will probably take his life time to perfect it. During his teenage into his adult years, Khonnir Baine's adopted daughter, Val has taken great interest in Valerius because of his uniqueness, strength, and Val + Val seems cute in her feminine mind. Currently, Valerius is still part of the reactionary Militia, works at the junk yard to see what people have discarded or bring to him to look at, and still is working to perfect his art Wired-Magi Martial Art. In addition, he consults all over Torch translating Androffan, tinkering with Androffan technology, and deducing what other gadgets do that are handed to him. And during his leisure when he does not have his nose buried in books and gadget, he can be seen flirting with Val Baine. GOALS [Short-term] Defend the city against the ever growing annoyance of the Technic League [Mid-Term] Own his own Salvage and Archaeology shop [Long-Term] Find a suit of Power Armor and master his martial Art so he can train others and become leader of the Wired-Magi. SECRETS [Known] The Power Armor page he found is not shared with anyone until he knows how many suits there are and if there is a method to keep them charged. [Unknown] Unknown to Valerius, although expected, the Technic League is aware of Power Armor and are just as eager to find it as he is. In addition, there is another unknown and secret jealous who wants Val Baine. CONTACTS AND ENEMIES [Friends] Party Members, I will drill down on this when the party and myself are chosen. [Romance] Budding romance with Khonnir Baine's adopted daughter, Val {Val+Val or Val Squared} [Enemies] Mainly the Technic League for picking on Torch and since the Circle O ranch is on the main path to Torch, they are always harassed first. And anyone who is jealous of Valerius being Val's number 1 suitor. MEMORIES "Slowly squeeze the trigger to the rear as you exhale." My father said to me before shooting my first rifle at 8 years old "WOW! What is this?! I want it! I am going to get it one day!" Valerius said with enthusiasm the day he discovered the page with the picture of the Power Armor in the Junkyard. HOBBIES Valerius has a few hobbies; 1. Keeping up with his current Androffan language and knowledge. 2. Learning new Androffan Technology and shooting any Androffan Advance firearms that someone may have and will let him shoot it. 3. Tinkering with various Androffan tech in attempts to perfect crafting them. 4. One of his plans is to build a bullet resistance Tower Shield that he can use with a one-handed firearm or melee weapon (Which will look similar to this Shield but look more like something from Pathfinder). CHARACTER:
Valerius Rex is tall, athletic, has long brown hair currently in a quick pony tail and brown eyes. He is wearing cowboy leathers, very light chain armor, and an Australian Duster (using earth terms only to better describe Valerius). There are (2) bandoleers that criss-crosses his chest filled with 15 rounds each side and other contents. On his back, he wears a backpack filled with contents and a battered rifle sheathed in a rifle holster. He often imagines himself to some day be wearing Androffan Power Armor, carrying an Androffan Heavy Weapon as his primary, a holstered Androffan main battle rifle on his back as his operational alternative, one Androffan main hand pistol since the power armor has the off-hand as his secondary, and up to (2) Monowhips for his tertiary while casting magic when needed. And then leading a group with a similar make up to combat any enemy of Valerius and his interests. But for now, he sticks to what is real, by shooting his battered rifle that he may make magic quickly, and then cast other protective spells during combat. Unfortunately when he casts magic the same time he shoots, he is a little less accurate than if he shot without casting magic. However, all subsequent shots will be more accurate. If someone thinks they can close the distance to gain advantage, they will be very surprise at how fast Valerius can draw his scimitar sword as his melee and secondary weapon. CRUNCH:

When the gun tank is wearing medium or heavy armor and is subject to a critical hit or sneak attack, she can spend 1 grit point as an immediate action to attempt to negate the critical hit or sneak attack damage. At 1st level, she has a 25% chance of doing so. At 10th level, the chance increases to 50%. At 15th level, the chance increases to 75%. While a gun tank’s resolve does not stack with the fortification armor special ability, it does work in concert with that armor special ability or similar effects, so a gun tank can use this ability even after the armor of fortification has failed to negate the critical hit or sneak attack damage. This deed replaces the Gunslinger’s Dodge deed. . . Reliable At 1st level, a techslinger can spend 1 grit point as a free action to prevent a timeworn firearm from glitching. This deed replaces quick clear. Grit (Ex) Gain a pool of points that are spent to fuel deeds, regained on firearm crit/killing blow. Gunsmith (Techslinger) At 1st level, a gunslinger gains one of the following firearms of her choice: black powder blunderbuss, pistol, or rifle. Her starting weapon is battered, and only she knows how to use it properly. All other creatures treat her gun as if it had the broken condit Gunsmithing You can use a gunsmithing kit to craft/repair firearms and ammo. Point-Blank Shot +1 to attack and damage rolls with ranged weapons at up to 30 feet. Power Attack -1/+2 You can subtract from your attack roll to add to your damage. Quick Draw Draw weapon as a free action (or move if hidden weapon). Throw at full rate of attacks. Spell Combat (Ex) Use a weapon with one hand at -2 and cast a spell with the other. ABOUT THE PLAYER:
I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons and many other games off and on since 1981, through elementary school, high school, the military, college, and now. Most of my early playing time was table top. After moving in 2005 and unable to find a good local group, I joined The Only Sheet board, one other board, and ended up here. Since then, this has been my home and it will continue to be. I am currently in a cool Zeitgeist Game, a M6 Game (basically you only level to 6th, but Mythic to 10, using mostly normal rules with a few restrictions), on the other end of the spectrum a crazy cool Multi-Gestalt Monster PC game, and a 5e game. |
