I've seen this before. It's russet mold, a kind of vegetation that acts like a parasite. It grows inside of the host and becomes a kind of pseudo humanoid plant creature. It appears the cold air has stuntef it's growth, but we should still bring down alcohol on our next trip and burn the body.
