What woud the Cleric do about so many Undead anyway?
Channel Positive Energy to harm Undead, maybe?

It was a sarcastic joke. Channel Energy to Harm Undead (even maxed out) really is very ineffective.

:)

Wut? A cleric with a high charisma, quick channel and a phylactery of positive channeling could destroy an army of undead (or evil outsiders with alignment channel).

This all sounds kind of goofy. I'm going to have to echo the 'it's just a game' comments from earlier in the thread. It's a classic fantasy trope for good guys to either team up or in some way align themselves with some dark power to fight the greater evil. One player's pet is no more/less significant than another's PC. They're all made-up and meant to be fun. Is being a zealot that wrecks someone else game concept fun for you? Just either 1. ignore the horse completely (how often do mounts really come up?) or 2. have your PC show his displeasure but respect that his companion of years has a different belief system than him

The real world is full of crazy zealots, but most of them are content carrying signs and whatnot without being overtly violent.

I've never had any inclination to ban any PFS legal stuff, but I've certainly had vastly different interpretations of rules than players. I'd imagine in many of these cases (like with the Summoner and incredibly poorly ruled Synthesist) the GM's frustrations are based on previous experience. Players in PFS generally take for granted that the GM is going to:
1. buy and prepare a scenario
2. buy/prepare maps
3. scrounge up some minis
4. tote along all the books
5. have pregens, the society guide, extra pencils, extra dice
6...

The GM is going to be arbitrating the rules for the next 3-5 hours so it shouldn't be much to ask the player to be flexible considering they're not being asked to anything other than hang out and participate. If you're not cool than there's no problem with you bailing.

Did anyone else have trouble with the players trying to avoid the final encounter? Should I have just let them? This was my first time GMing (or even playing) PFS.

When I run this section I just move them down the alley as part of the narration. If someone were to chirp up you've got a couple options. Ultimately, the encounter could happen anywhere so they could avoid the alley, but get jumped later on. Otherwise, you could point out that they've been cutting through side roads the whole time and you're just setting the scene. I generally find anytime you start drawing a map (or in the case putting down tiles called 'ambush sites') somebody is going to start metagaming. If the goal of the game was to avoid conflict it'd be pretty boring.

What if I defined my eidolon as looking human?

Seriously! The synthesist I am putting together for PFS is defining his eidolon to look almost exactly like himself, only wearing celestrial scale armor.

Have no fear, from the SRD:

The eidolon’s physical appearance is up to the summoner, but it always appears as some sort of fantastical creature. This control is not fine enough to make the eidolon appear like a specific creature.

I'm actually using an angelic theme, I just don't have my wings yet.

Angelic is an explicitly allowed theme.

Same here, I have an Aasimar boon for PFS. I think the point is you're not fooling anyone. You're not going to be fully recognizable as your summoner. I'm fairly sure that rule is there to specifically prevent people from having eidolons be clones or be undercover.

SleepybotMonster, a synthesist doesn't use the save progression of it's Eidolon when fused. It's saves are those of its class, so bad progression for Fort and Ref and good progression for Will.

I haven't seen any evidence for this ruling. The summoner gets the eidolon's AC and BAB. Where are saving throws singled out?

3-4 is my preferred table size. Both as a player and a GM. I grew up with 1-2 players in my home game and I think it lends to a lot more screen time. From what I've seen of people that have dropped out of PFS the primary complaint is the lack of role-play which is generally resolved in a 3-person game. I'd say Kyra sees the most action since it's rare to have a dedicated healer in the party. I can't think of any scenario where 3+1 can't cover down unless the group is all spellcasters.

Tier 1-5 = 3
Tier 3-7 = 2
Tier 5-9 = 1
Tier 7-11 = 1
Tier 12 = 0

I think that's about it...
Corwyn - fighter 3
Keurig - inquisitor 5
Uverus - cleric 10
Hark - fighter 2
Elywn - wizard 2 <- never played this guy just GM credit

Sorry I kinda forgot about this thread. Would you be willing to GM, Duskblade? I'm thinking if we can coordinate a game with Comic Quest and we have a GM they'd probably be willing to put up a posting or something. I figured we could make a flyer and ask them to print it off. If we don't have a local GM then this would be pretty tricky. It'd be cool to have a monthly event though if there was enough interest. I know at least one person in the area who is a potential player and maybe his wife too.

What gaming stores are in the area? That'd be a bit of a haul for us Indy PFS people to make the long haul down there, but we still might be able to figure something out with the owners.
