HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

"The city has provided more dangers than protections. The guards here don't seem to be adept at keeping outside forces at bay." Uro gestures to Trub Glorp. "and I would guess that there are no Lotus Dragons in this colony. I also like the sound of getting back out into the wilderness."

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Hahahaha. Sorry, it's been a while.

"Why is this big bad group of pirates hiring a tribe of bullywugs to attack us? Maybe they're too beat up to do it on their own?" Uro grows visibly irritated at the thought and looks back at the frogman. "Can you take us to the Red Pirates?"

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Uro does his best to relay that info to the rest of the group. "Anyone know who the Red Pirate clan might be?"

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Yay!

No one is able to make any sense of the scroll, either, until Jym picks it up and, looking it over, shares an exceptionally long and rambling story that may or may not have anything to do deciphering scrolls. In the end he manages to cast the spell on Uro, who in turn can now understand the bullwug.

The gist of the frog-man's remarks is that Uro is obviously a greater war chieftain than Chief Lorpth was, and a more powerful pirate than Drevoraz -- who was the toughest being they knew, and an orc to boot. With "Lorb-Lorb Tub" (evidently the supervisor) also dead, the Trub Glorp tribe's leadership is decimated, so the long and short of it is that he wants to serve Uro now. He is also hungry, and asks if it's OK to eat Jym.

"Tell us everything you know about who hired your group to attack us?" Uro gestures over to Jym. "If we like your answers, maybe you can have a bite."

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

I'm here! I figured we were waiting on Jym. I'm cool to keep going whenever you like.

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Sorry, work and real life are super busy right now. Everytime that I try to catch up on my games I get side tracked.

Uro is initially frustrated by the Bullywugs nonsensical speech, but remembers a detail from earlier. "Lavinia, didn't you say that there was a scroll of comprehend languages in your stash?" Go go gadget numen!

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Uro nods to the elf. "This sort of thing is new to all of us. We had no real plan when we engaged the enemy. We can all work on it together." As the orc moves off, he picks up the hand axe and the healing potion from the pile. As Uro attaches the axe to his belt, though a strange thing happens. It's curves become more sharp and it's grip darkens to a blood red. It becomes a match to his great axe. "The goddess strengthens me." Uro says under his breath, almost imperceptibly. With that, he moves back in and toeard the basement. "If anyone has questions for our prisoner, now is the time."

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Uro puts a huge hand on Ixotl's shoulder. "It is good to see you well friend. I am sorry that we couldn't get to you before those frogman were able to ascend the tree. Perhaps as a group we should rethink our tactics." The orc draws in a long breath. Though his wounds are healed, he is clearly still exhausted from his brush with death. "For now though, we have a very unconscious bullywug in the basement that should be questioned."

1st level x CL 1st x 500 (use activated) x 4 (rds./level duration multiplier) = 2,000 numen if target within 30 ft.

For more distant targets (up to the axe's max. range), 6,000 numen would be the price tag.

Awesome. Thanks for your help with this stuff. This game has been my only connection to the 3.x system for the past few years, so I end up forgetting how a lot of the basics even work.

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

So at some point, I think when I went to 3rd level, I upgraded my ring mail to a breast plate with a reduced armor penalty. I included it in Uro's stats, but ever put it in his gear. I'll fix that now, I think it was 900 numen.

Kirth, would you mind giving any suggestions on items to pick up with Uro's remaining numen?

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Alright, I think Uro is good.

4th Level Checklist:
Ability score increase: Strength
Totem Feat: Stamina Training +1 Con per 3 ranks of endurance
Rage Power: Beast Hide +2 Natural Armor while raging
Base Attack Bonus Increase
Bonus Skills: Athletics, Endurance and perception (Handle Animal)
Allocate additional Skill points (4)
2 in Knowledge Planes
2 in Diplomacy (prepping for Paladin next level)

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Yeah, I'm only stalled because of the number of options. That's a plus for me, I like all of the choices, it just takes a little extra time.

Also, let's get this done: Hit Dice: 1d12 ⇒ 10

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

All yours Jym!

Elebrin, if you are going to be fighting up close, I'd say definitely take the gauntlets. Otherwise, I'd think either Uro or Bal would do well with them.

Since this was a consumable that was used right away, how should I figure this into Uro's numen?

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Nice! I accounted for the doubled breather HP, but not the extra Breath of life. Looks like Bal could keep his use of CLW and Uro would be at full HP anyway. "Alright, let back up into the manor. Let them come to us."

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

I never wrapped my head around spells in Kirthfinder. That's why I play martials. :-P

Also, it's funny that it ended up exactly the same.

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Breath of Life: 5d8 + 9 ⇒ (4, 1, 6, 1, 5) + 9 = 26

The orc rolls over and groans. "Ouch. Did we win?"

He will also take a breather if possible

Suggestion: use another round of rage (or a hero point, if you're out) to stay raging long enough to take a breather and recover 11 hp. That would put you at -8 (and stable) instead of -19 (and dead).

Uro is out of both. When I was planning my actions, I forgot how dying worked in 3.x.

Pretty sure Uro is dead. :-(

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Once the frogmen turn tail and run, Uro leans forward on his axe. "And stay gone.." Then falls face first into the ground.

9 rounds raging x2= 18 damage

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

It is still a feat but Uro doesn't have it, unfortunately.

Come back Devon!

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

That's what Uro does. :-D

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Seeing double and on the verge of collapse, Uro swings hard at one of the bullywugs before dropping.

Great Axe: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25

Damage: 2d8 + 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (6, 4) + (5) + 17 = 32

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Oof, this whole time I forgot that Uros DR increased while raging. Facepalm

Oh hey, also didn't realize that his AC increases while raging, ha ha. C'est la vie

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Hope we haven't lost Devon. Should we keep boting Elebrin?

Snarfed my coffee on that one.

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

This is probably assumed, but Uro is flanking for Bal.

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Uro steps back allowing the chieftains attack to swing harmlessly past the orc. Taking advantage of the bullywugs overextension, Uros chops down with his own axe, looking to end the threat.

Power Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (11) + 13 = 24

Damage: 2d8 + 1d6 + 13 ⇒ (3, 8) + (6) + 13 = 30

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Got it! Also, forgot about Bal's flanking bonus. Thanks Bal!

As Elebrin's Magic missile strikes the chieftain, Uro pushes his advantage. Tasting the blood in his mouth, he lets out a roar and swings his axe at the frogman leader.

"Waaaauuuuuggggh!!!!"

Power Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

Damage: 2d8 + 1d6 + 13 ⇒ (3, 7) + (4) + 13 = 27

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Uro spits blood at the bullywug chieftain and fires back!

Power Attack!!: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

Damage: 2d8 + 1d6 + 13 ⇒ (2, 6) + (3) + 13 = 24

Can I use my hero point to make another attack and if so, does it have a negative since it is an iterative attack?

I think Jym is up, right?

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Did Uro get an opportunity attacks on the Bullywugs that moved away? Also, shouldn't the Chief make a save vs Staredown too? If he fails by 10 or more, he will be frightened, which I assume he isn't immune to. Lastly! The crocs should be trying to run away since they are frightened, right?

Sorry to be a stickler, I don't want to die. :-P

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Thank you hero point! Crit negated.

Once it is Uro's turn:

Through sheer anger and determination, Uro shrugs off most of the pain caused by the chieftains massive strike. The giant orc channels the rest of the pain and lets out a mighty roar!

"Waaaaaaagggghhhh" Using the Stare Down feat to intimidate all enemies within 30 feet of Uro.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Whoops should have included Initiative: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Also, if it's an option, Uro will try to slam his axe down on any bullywug unfortunate enough to be near his landing spot. The orc will target the chief if he's in range.

Power Attack!: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Damage: 2d8 + 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (1, 1) + (2) + 11 = 15

Wow, two 1s, a 2 and a 3. Good rollin there Uro.

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Makes sense! Uro will instead rush upstairs, smash the window with his axe and leap through, screaming madly as he does!

Waaaaaagggghhh! Rage!

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Do these windows open from the inside? If they do;
Uro waits for to time the frogmen's battering ram swing and flings open the window before it is struck. He will then grab on to the side of the log and pull it into the house, hoping to over extend the Bullywugs momentum.

Athletics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Uro will start wedging furniture against the door. If we hold them up here, maybe we can sneak around behind them somehow."

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

"Yeah, yeah." The orc wipes slimy frog stuff from his axe as he trots over to the stairs.

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Uro nearly grants the bullywug his early entrance to the afterlife, but shows mercy and leads with the side of his axe.
Great Axe: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 12 - 2 = 30

Nonlethal Damage: 2d8 + 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (5, 2) + (2) + 8 = 17

Confirmation: 1d20 + 12 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 12 - 2 = 27

So, 51 non lethal damage.. Ha ha, this Bullywug is going to be asleep for a while.

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Initiative: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10 i can't find my original roll for some reason, this is easier, lol.

Uro climbs from the stream and launches himself into a frogman, axe swinging wildly!

Death to frogmen!: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Damage: 2d8 + 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (1, 5) + (4) + 11 = 21

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

System question for you Kirth. Is there any variant (or have you considered any variant) of a rageless barbarian? Maybe with lesser, static bonuses? I dunno.

The reason that I ask, is that tracking rage in a pbp can get sort of cumbersome at times.

As I'm typing this though, I'm wondering if I'm just describing a ranger or fighter..

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

I really like the way it looks. I've run into problems while trying to navigate around though.

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Uro looks up to Ixotl and yells. "A couple of them made it into the basement. I'm going to follow."
The orc dives into the stream in pursuit.
Athletics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Once it's Uro's turn:
As the frogman's teeth scrape off ot the orcs armor, uro pushes him off with the haft of his axe, making enough room for a horizontal slash.

Choppy choppy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Damage: 2d8 + 1d6 + 8 ⇒ (3, 6) + (6) + 8 = 23

HP 59/59 AC 17 Per:10 Rage 0/12 AC: 20 DR: 4

Congrats Bal!!!
